Will you quit B&S IF

I've been playing the JP version before this, and many of these problems are just...gone. Most of the Premium features here are free there. There are no RNG boxes, no major cash grabs, constant promotions that give you free stuff. Most special event outfits have methods of acquiring them with in-game currency, if not all of them. The JP version also doesn't care whether you login through a VPN or not, so I can use WTFast to play it. On top of that, the Yen conversion rate is so strong right now that I can get a premium membership in JP for cheaper than NCWest's.

In short, if this game turns into Tera, I'll just play my Japanese account.

Look at mr. smartass over here.

Rng boxes will affect your gameplay eventually. Just because it's just costumes now, doesn't mean it won't be legendaries/gems later on. It's already established on other servers. It's just a matter of when, not if.

Fun fact: the moment you start throwing insults around, you've lost the argument. Try to at least make it challenging for me.

I use my twist of fate and faction uniform. No need for more unless you're insignia farming from the npc factions. As far as the cash shop outfits, over-priced is an understatement.Locking the wardrobe to premium only, is the most retarded thing ever, next to having to buy Ncoins to mail stuff between alts. The entire cash shop reminds me of Nexxon and their over priced cash shop.

And really only an idiot would gamble away money on something that has a 0.000001% chance of dropping. The RNG boxes are, and always will be, the morons favorite. Pay massive amounts of money and hardly ever get any thing.  Also note that character slots, yeah... the Korean version you start with 4 character slots, not two. I think NCSoft has taken lessons on bad business from Nexxon and Bioware on how to make a really bad F2P model and made it worse.  i don't know who is in charge of making these bad decisions, but in the end, it's only going to cost them money. Anyone with half a brain for business can see that this entire set up is just ripping your customer off. Which is why you see a lot of posts from disgruntled customers. I for one refuse to pay any money in to the blatant and obvious rip off that is the cash shop and Ncoins.

Honestly RNG boxes have made me think negatively about this game since they put them up in the store. It sends really really bad vibes.

Vindictus does the same thing, they take the outfits people want the most and put them in rng boxes with a 3% chance.

Well i guess this thread will get closed pretty soon, but i already semi quit i made that decision right before the day the RNG boxes came. Like i had it in my guts that something bad will happen and the hope for the games are really low when actually nothing worthwhile got implemented in those 3 years.

I think ill give NCSoft one last chance to win me over by delivering on the 10th Feb patch. If they fail to do so, i will watch from the sidelines instead.

The RNG boxes are another red sign to distance myself from this game. Many people say just ignore it when you don't like it. For me it's like 'If you don't like us ripping off moneywhales, just look away. No one cares about you opinion!' That's not something i like to support even if the game is half decent.

To quit over an RNG box with costumes in it? Don't think so.

Does it affect me or my gameplay? No.

If I want the costume but only way to get it is through RNG boxes then I'll just find another costume that I'll like that's for free in-game or buy straight-up through the Hongmoon Store.

Guess the reason I don't care as much is because I'm used to RNG boxes being added in the cash shop on different games. I usually just ignore them or maybe try a few if I feel like it. But in the end, it won't stop me from playing a game that I like.

Will I quit? Probably not. Will I buy any of the boxes? Probably not. I'm not opposed to spending money on the game for any outfits that I like, but I won't gamble for them. Personally I'll let my wallet speak for me in terms of telling the devs what I am and am not willing to pay for, and that's probably the thing they will listen to the most. Granted, there's always a few spending whales out there so my movements probably don't make much of a splash but hey, that's how a lot of games are.

I think I decided I have enuff coins left to buy 1 RNG box. I'll buy it Friday if I get the costume i'll go ahead and by the 2 outfits I wanted from the store. If I don't I preorder BDO. We'll see how NCSoft feels about having something they want (money) locked behind their RNG. I mean RNG is good right?

BDO is Archeage, with easier mobs, more grinding, and no end game. You're essentially going to be playing nothing, other than some serious boredom.

I get where you guys are coming from it's not the main game play being hit so who cares but give it time when the OP gems start hitting the boxes (and they will) To people that play for the looks this is the same as that. I'm ok with outfits being luck to get I'm also alright with them being money to get (like that better to be honest) but both hurts when your RNG sucks and you want something.

Yeah, RNG sucks, do you expect less from a MMO?

Problem I see is people are being b*tthurt because NCS is selling RNG boxes. The REAL problem I see is people lacks control of themselves, and blame NCS for their lack of control. This is like a gambler blaming the casino for losing money. Casinos always deals out the same winnings, they keep 52%, and the other 48% are shared among the players. IOW, you ALWAYS lose.

Now. Back to the real issue at hand: Sooner or later, we will get those super hard to get gems that will sell for 500-1K G on the market, and the process of making that gem involves RNG, or that 6K gold (yes, 6K) legendary loot drop. NCS MAY sell the same item in an RNG box for a set price. Again, people will have problems because they may lose money and not get what they want.

But you see, in this case, RNG are there in both cases, the difference is, the buyer in case 1 puts the risk on the maker, hence he has no issues when someone else loses their $$/gold due to RNG. But in 2nd case, when the RNG is on their side, they will b*tch and cry like a baby.

Oh don't worry, many of the paying consumers are now withholding money or leaving altogether until this is fixed. When all the paying customers leave and there are only you guys left, they'll introduce RNG p2w boxes and/or shut the game down because no one is buying their junk and lies anymore.

PFFFF they are still making money without you lol more than enough are still buying the boxes... some a few dollars some a hundred soooo bye...

Now if they put amazing soul shields in the box than you bet I would be MAD

Outfits are a part of the game for a lot of ppl. Can't blame them for leaving because of RNG boxes...

If its the new sexy and adorable valentines outfit in a rng box I'm done.

buh bye..

Soooooo you play the game by standing around "lookin good" for all the people playing?

orrr when you go into a dungeon you just stand in the corner in your outfit to look good while everyone else plays the game in whatever outfit they have on....

yeah if your going to quit over an outfit than bye....there are a ton of neat ones that you can get in game.....

I'm really enjoying this game, I frequently spend money on games I enjoy.

Examples are Path of Exile, Hearthstone, League of Legends, etc...notice these are all free to play games with cash shops.

I've spent $115.00 on BnS, here's what I have.

  • 1 Month Premium
  • 6 Character Slots
  • Two MTX Costumes (Three if you count Daily Dash reward)
  • Three MTX adornments (Glasses x2, Hair)
  • Three Characters with all but last two rows inventory unlocked
  • 4 or 5 Class specific keys for weapon boxes
  • Few stacks of poison for crafting
  • Level 5 premium benefits (increased xp, more AH spots, less fees, etc)
  • Probably some other small things I'm forgetting (at work writing this)

That price tag for those benefits really isn't that different from popular free to play games currently on the market. In league people buy skins which is essentially a character bound outfit. In Path of Exile (I will admit this game has the best F2P model on the market) people buy stash stabs comparable to inventory space in BnS. Lastly, in Hearthstone people buy packs, RNG based primary game content, I would compare this to BnS's character slots, talent slots etc.

You don't even have to spend that much, you could spend a completely reasonable $50 and get enough inventory space, a MTX costume, another character slot/talent spec and still have some left over for cheap consumables.

What you're asking for is complete access to the entire MTX shop with a premium subscriptions. If you want to make one of every class, have multiple talent specs, full inventory on all of your characters, and outfits for all them, you will have to pay. If you want one or two main characters with these things its not that expensive, again $50 bucks will do this for you.

I wouldn't complain if they lowered prices, or gave more to premium members, but I don't think they need to.

I paid for 90 days on this game and I plan to play on for those 90 days but if they don't bring warlock by then and the Empress New Clothes outfit by the end of it I doubt I'll continue playing or renew my subscription.  There's so many things about this game that are so outdated and so many other MMOs that are not as "expensive" or cumbersome.  I don't mind spending money on games I enjoy but this one is testing my tolerance.  I considered calling them and getting a partial refund on my subscription.  The big thing that's kept me around is the combat, I absolutely love the combat in this game.

If the costumes dont have stats on em....i dont mind, heck even if they had i wouldnt still mind....cuz i Grind2Win.

Actually the Outfits are tied into the Soul Shields,if you unequip the outfits you lose your stats from the soul shield until equipping another outfit or requipping the one taken off.

I will quit BnS if The thing that killed lineage 2 starts to  kill this game as well. It was a painful  realization that there was nothing i was doing in game that a macro couldn't. once i understood that half the seemingly "uncommunicative" people i was playing with were probably robots, i quit. I will do this as well If adena sellers does not go away.
