So much this.
So tired of hearing "You didn't knew that? It was on twitch stream!" and not a *cricket*ing word on the website or the game's own forum.

Thirded. Nobody should ever have to need to follow their Twitter or Twitch streams for stuff they should post on their home page and forums too.

I am a serious person sometimes. :p

When they are re-enabled, will they have all the same functionality (custom images) as before - or are we getting a bastardized version, and if so, how bad is it?

I personally would just be grateful to have them back in ANY form, as long as we can at least show a custom portrait of our character.

Why people wants this, i dont know. You can look at your toon by middle click and fiddle mouse around. That is way better than a "photo".

Yes i used it on the early days, but, i dont really miss the option.

Yes, i will OFC use it when it returns.

They are taking their time because they don't want people having porn and hentai images as their lmage

... Where do people keep getting this idea? Inappropriate images had absolutely nothing to do with the system being disabled.

Officially/externally it may not have, but don't be naïve enough to believe that internally it had absolutely nothing to do with the system being taken down. Some of the shit I've seen out there was quite over the top, and there was a ton of it. Mind you, I'm by no stretch of the imagination a prude. But still, there are limits.

this is completely not fair !!! I understand some people put some disturbing pictures at their profile BUT if you decide to disable all profile pictures FOR THE LOVE OF GOD remove all pictures on everyone's profile !!!! it's not fair see others with pictures even if they have uploaded them before your decision to disable the option ..... so please REMOVE ALL PROFILE PICTURES OR REENABLE THIS OPTION !!!!

In a livestream Q&A they said they're finalizing the changes but we'll only be able to upload photos taken in-game by the client - I'm happy with that, I know lots aren't because they liked having custom art and stuff - even I had a few screenshots of poses that I used for portraits, but oh well.

Yea? What determines that the picture is taken by the client? Don't tell me its the name or the location of the picture because if that's the case they may as well leave the phucking photo uploader in a disabled state, it will be abused again.

What's taking them so bloody long to just re enable the blasted photo uploader and ban anyone who uploaded pornographic or graphically extreme images. Then watch the forum flood with some people playing the role of victim. Pfft.

  • 2 weeks later...

It takes 2 months, to literally uncheck a checkbox that says "disable profile pictures", because they already have all the coding to upload profile pictures.

I'm guessing it'll take only 2 years to code a "hide/show profile pictures" option in settings.

The efficiency of NCS is absolutely astounding. They should really turn the company into a clothing manufacturer, the efficiency is unmatched anywhere in the world.
