Just bought 11 didn't get it. NCsoft take note. I am done with your cash shop altogether. I was in CBT and backed this game loyally. I may be leaving due to this sort of negligence if you do not address what this will do to your players. f2p....that's a joke. I would rather spend 15 bucks a month and have it all then have you nickle and dime me over random loot chests. This is a horrible business plan.

"NICKLE AND DIME"? THIS IS STRAIGHT UP BUCK-ING YOU OVER.

My point is, you don't have to have it. It is a want, not a need.

This business model they have is pay2costume, pay2convenience. It is not pay2win. I support the fact that they're going with the non pay to win route. Look at the grand prize, it's a costume with no stats. Purely cosmetic. It has to be one or the other, and I feel they choose the better business model from a player's perspective.

Pay2Greed.

What's odd is that they have a 'bundle' box that has 2 random items which 'could' be rarer goods, but is mostly keys, and such, and charges you for 5x the amount for a set of keys and such. Also, it only gives you a single key(s), for the price, which is a rip off in comparison to simply buying the items itself from the store for 40 points for 10x the keys.

In that case, the 'value' for a box like the festive one, is a bad one as it gives you value from 0~100%.

If you don't like lucky boxes, don't buy them. It's that simple. If nobody buys them, NCSoft will get the message. If people waste their money on lucky boxes, it'll just encourage NCSoft to do it even more. Players drive the market. Don't fool yourselves.

That's the chance you take. It's a gamble. Gambles are not 100% guaranteed to work out in your favor.

I have 2 coats, one on my main and one on an alt. I went into the situation knowing the risk, knowing that I could end up buying points and not getting the costume.

Like I said, it's just cosmetics. It will not make or break your gaming experience. Your life will go on, with or without this costume. Lol.

Edit: What you guys are not understanding is, if you're one of those that don't want to buy premium, complain about wardrobe not being free, refuse to buy RNG boxes, or spend very much money at all on the game, YOU ARE NOT THE TARGET DEMOGRAPHIC for the company. The target demographic is financially established adults with disposable income. Why would they alter their business model to coddle their lowest source of income? Logic.

Well "Us guys" do buy premium (see my icon) I refuse to buy RNG boxes because they are scum but as you can see from the title I have here I bought a pre order pac. I have no issues giving them money I have issues with RNG boxes that can milk someone forever and never pay out.

I've already paid more then 200€ for the game - but no RNG-Boxes and wont do that either. I guess i AM the target demographic. RNG-Boxes are stupid gambling and is guaranteed to drive some ppl into serious problems. It always did and it wont be different this time. I dont even understand why it is allowed while lottery companies or casinos need special licenses and are adult only(in the most countries).

I got the costume after about 22 boxes? But, I also had like over 100 unsealing charms, moonwater transformation stone and 100+ soulstones (I bought a few extra boxes just cause I wanted to see the luck on soulstones lol).

Now for RNG. I have ran 4man Poharan 63 times. SIXTY-THREE times. Pirate Princess costume only dropped once, and I was outbid when someone dropped 42-45gold on it. At this point, I thought I should've just gone as high as I can because right now at 63 effin runs, I could've made all that gold back and then some minus the stress. I don't know if I am running the 4man out of stubborness at this point or, just for principle alone but... I'm this close to giving up and just saying forget it, lol. I'm laughing on the outside and crying on the inside - especially when after 30-40 min run because you get a bad group you see that orange 4 on the loot table, you know there isn't a costume in there whatsoever. Bleh.

1.  I'd have to argue that cosmetics are a huge part of this game, and lack of the ones you want may indeed break your gaming experience.

2.  I have premium.  I am a financially established adult with disposable income.  I will absolutely refused to EVER buy a gotcha box.  If/when the cosmetics I want get locked behind them, I will "qq" and be spending my money elsewhere.  That's a simple fact.

3.  I like the gameplay.  I like many of the outfits I've seen still to come.  I'd rather not end up leaving due to (IMO) predatory business practices.

I couldn't have said it any better.

I enjoy the game, and I've supported it by purchasing premium; in fact, I currently have unspent NCoin sitting on my account.

I have no issues spending money to support a game that I enjoy; that's what disposable income is for.

I do, however, have issues with bad business practices.

I don't pay for a "chance" to watch a movie.

I don't pay for a "chance" to attend a concert.

I don't pay for a "chance" to dine at a restaurant.

I'm not going to pay for a "chance" to get a costume.

So the answer is "Yes, it will be made available in the Hongmoon Store, so all you people should stop showering NCSoft with money trying to get it from the Winter  Frenzy Chest"? If people are complaining about how much they spent on not getting it, imagine all the demands for compensation when it appears in the Hongmoon Store.

This is the first game i've ever played that literally threw a lotto box at their players in the first month of being released.

Just.. wow.

I know well enough to stay well clear of these boxes(from experience on other games. Here's looking at you, Tera), sooo i'm not biting.

This is like a mmo tradition for almost all asian MMOs, and if you think this is unfair and shouldn't exist, well it is not gonna happen.  I say just get use it; doesn't really make this a bad game, more money spent to NCsoft also give them a better chance of making this game better; it's way better than buying and trading gold.

these boxes are about luck and should be a fun thing to play like a lottery, rather than a gamble... I spend merely about $2000 from playing CN and TW server (and that literally almost meant nothing) and I can guarantee you NA is the cheapest one you will ever come across... I open about 1-3ish boxes a day (like the price for a cup of a coffee which aint so bad)... I opened about 22 on the first day of release and I am very committed to lose... I think is the fact that some costumes are just so rare and cant simply be bought made this awesome to have... literally no point to rage about it~_~

Plenty of games that go from P2P to F2P introduce gamble boxes along with the cash shop on day 1 of F2P.

You shut your *cricket* mouth right this second before you start giving anybody ideas.  Last thing I need is Korean mmoperger publisher movie theatres.

I seriously doubt you've learned anything.  Multiply this guy by, what, hundreds?  Thousands?  Now you see why RNG boxes are here to stay.

Yup.  Besides the one person who learned their lesson, there's always those people with so much money on their hands they just throw it at the game they play.  Was in a guild on TOR and had a couple members who spent a couple hundred on RNG boxes once a week to every other week.

I don't like a lot of stuff. Some things in life just aren't fair.

Do I go on my little soap box to announce my dislike for something I think is not fair? No. I just simply don't buy or support it.

Your opinion, while worth something in your own mind, is worthless to those who feel otherwise. It works both ways. In the end, both sides voice their opinions, but nothing really changes from either party, so we both end up wasting our time and finger presses. All these "discussions" are, are opinionated circle-jerks, where those in agreement with each other's stance have a place to stroke each other off and rejoice in the fact that they're not alone in their opinions.

If you don't like the box, don't buy it. Nobody cares what you babbys think anyway.

That's where you're wrong look up what happened with the dolphin in archage. They tried to take a rare item (that was said to be in the RNG boxes only people spent a bunch on them) and a pack they had just started selling for $100 to people who had quit the game to get them to come back. The people that had spent the money to get one got mad they yelled and guess what something was done so it does work. So things can change but if you don't show that you don't like what's going on then it never will.
