  1. If you note, ALL MMOs are in a steady decline in the West. Many factors are to blame. From cultural differences onto what East and West gamers want from MMOs, to corporate greed, to lackluster decisions. The whole genre is a train wreck just about to happen. So I can't blame NC alone on this, since everyone is on the same boat.
  2. Question, does the Hongmoon brilliant key you can make through Radiant Ring work for these? if yes, they can be made for rather cheap. And they don't even need regular soulstones nor moonstones. They use the account bound crystal versions which are very easy to obtain, and your radiant ring rep needs to be just at level 4. Disregard this if these keys can't be used to open those boxes... EDIT:I decided to make those keys and will sacrifice mats and some buds to see if these open the weapon chests you need. Will reply after 6 hours. :)
  3. This thread is rocketing right into the big blue sky....
  4. This. The level 60 voucher does essentially what a class change voucher would do, while letting a player keep the older character. And in the case of most cosmetics, we have the (clunky but still useful) outfit transfer ticket system. Also, character deletion was set to 5 minutes for even level 60s. So we can claim that slot as soon as we choose to perma kill the old character. And we can even transfer it's looks by using the appearance picture function. And that part is free and immensely useful. Someone just changed a character and want the gear for it? They should earn it again while learning the ropes of the class. While whale gear is out of the grasp of most regular players (making this game officially p2w in my opinion), decent gear capable of doing most pve and some lucky pvp isn't as difficult to obtain as before. The current system may be annoying for some, mostly those with characters at high gear tiers and who other than not knowing the perks of another class, still know dungeon mechs and stuff. But it's a small price to pay for the ability to hop onto another class. In older MMOs, people didn't have that luxury and were set to start from total scratch.
  5. Yeah. I'm still skimming through the surface here. Will eventually start doing more, including Koldrak and the 12man stuff. Right now I'm concentrating on buffing accessories and getting the last aransu SS pieces. I'm also lucky that I could get a decent soul from the pink ball event. I really dislike the look of the raven weapon. It's like a parasite hanging onto your back. Though I assume that was the aim when it was designed. I plastered mechanizer as a skin to it. It has lightning effects so kind of fits the lightning BD theme. BUT I miss seraph looks and the kanji-like symbols floating around the character.
  6. +1 to this. And to try and close the giant gap between whales and the rest of the population. I mean, we get it NC, you utterly LOVE whales. What company doesn't? But if the game has only whales, they are not really enough to give you the numbers required to actually RUN the whole thing, and there wouldn't be any f2p's to farm the stuff whales need to, well, whale... Your game will die an early death.
  7. I don't do pvp, but from what I hear, it's extremely unbalanced nowadays, and it was unbalanced even on it's best days. It seems the devs will never reach any kind of meaningful balance even if all of the player base gives them the tips on what to do and show them with giant arrow pointers..... by now might as well just remove pvp altogether...
  8. Basically do yellow story till it ends, then do Temple of succession which is an orange story quest you get from quest letter tab. THEN do blue quests like "Dead refuse to die" and "know thy enemy" That will put you more or less at the gates of late game content, which is daily farming and all that stuff.
  9. I totally agree with putting these merchants out of the instances. I can sort of justify the merchant in HM because he doesn't show up 100% of the time, so it's based on chance to get him. But the lyn in CS? He/She/IT shows up always. Might as well have them outside by now. And yeah, access to that merchant has never made me even want to buy a reset. It's just pointless.
  10. Simple. Ask the devs to remove simple mode from pvp. Problem solved. But meanwhile? People will have to deal with it. Let em ticket you to death if that's what they like. The staff will check your account and see you used only simple mode, a tool that they allowed. I mean, it's similar to people using gamer hardware like an upgraded gamer mouse. They got it because they do better with a gamer mouse with 10 buttons than with your GF's 2008 two button Facebook browsing pink mouse. Maybe you have a better computer than your opponent's. Your PC can pull max fps flawlessly, while your opponent struggles with 35 fps and all the missing frames and input lag that stuff comes with. Will people come at you because you use better hardware? I find simple mode to be similar. The only difference? It's free, it comes with the game, and up to this patch, the devs have made it a legit way to play despite how bad it works on some classes. Fair? Definitely not. But in the grand scheme of things, the world was never made with fairness as part of it's design. That's just something humanity is trying to enforce by themselves. This opinion does not mean I'm in favor or against it. I personally use it for pve since I don't pvp, and no simple mode at all would help me win a single pvp match anyway. I'm just saying things from an observer's point of view, as I see them.
  11. Know that each person is their own universe. Most rules apply to everyone. But not everything does. :)
  12. I hear ya. In the case of things with a failure rate like prem transform stones, I just bite the bullet and hand the gold to f5. At least gold is a bit easier to come by nowadays. Yes, they are expensive there, but that's because everyone is running on the same success rate. Some dudes are just a bit luckier.
  13. If I remember, Not quite Junghado, a quest in Mushin tower, repeats? Or do you have to return to the NPC for that one? Would have to check it. But I think it's quite possible to implement an auto repeating quest. Though on the other hand, I'm already getting used to hit J once I finish the refuge quest. It has sped up things for me in there (and I have 7 characters I need buds for, so I NEED the speed up). Then again, this thread is about wishing for something. Not really demanding it. What I would actually ask for first is to fix bugs and causes of lag. That's an always first priority request from any gamer to any game.
  14. Thanks. Here's my current "main". Yet another lyn -_- Lightning BD. I suppose a BD pro will scold me for the infinite amount of gearing errors I may have, but I'm happy with what I'm doing on my own with just a little guidance from general gearing videos. Do note that while I don't have a soul badge, I do have a mystic badge at least. I'm saving up to get me a decent soul badge. And I will keep upgrading, even if slowly. I have no hurries there.
  15. People. Before continuing, do note the dates on the previous posts. That stuff was more than a year ago. But @Artoles bumped the thread to ask a completely unrelated question to the previous posting. I just answered his question and reminded him he could have made a new thread for that. Mind that if replying.
  16. I myself picked raven 3 for my alts, and am currently on raven 6 on my main. Instead of picking a weapon with 8 slots, mine got them all unlocked as I kept upgrading it. Risky I know, but it was nice to get it there. As the initial poster said, it's kind of fun to do it this way, even though it may not be the cheapest. I'm going VERY slow here in comparison with what most may call average progression speed (doesn't help that I'm trying to gear up all my alts slowly at the same time, derp). I'm not aiming at any top spot. All I want is to be able to do low tier dailies and strengthen my character enough to be confident into joining some raids and have a significant contribution there since I totally hate to be carried, despite how disastrously bad I play. My current modest weapon aim for my main is aransu 3 at the moment. As for prices for raven energy/ferocity/animus, I haveve consistently seen the choice box selling for cheaper (17G usually) than the actual items (25G, and depending on which of the 3 you need, some can go up to 40G). So yeah, some observation is required to get the best deal there. My main character is still rather low on dps. Somewhere between 100 to 200 K, near 300K with buffs like food or soulburn. But that's because I'm using the accessories from refuge, which by now are not the strongest ones, and they are far from maxed. The merchant has some stronger accessories but they cost 600 buds if I remember correctly, not an amount you'd farm in "just a few days". Still, and again, it's kind of fun to at least follow what others did in the past instead of skipping stuff. I'm also still using lowbie gems. An octa and a bunch of story hexas. Will look into that eventually too. Anyway, I'm still bad at the game. My reaction times are way too slow to be competent on harder content, and harder more active dungeons literally give me headaches anyway. So all I want from this game is what pretty much everyone else already has for granted. Not to be a top dog, but to at least feel relevant wherever I play with others.
  17. So long as devs and publishers get more money from whales and not so whales buying up everything again on a new character, they will view a class change voucher as less revenue, unless it's sold for an exorbitant amount of money (I'm talking about 200 dollars per voucher minimum).
  18. Not related to the stuff above, so you could have made a new thread and nobody would have bitten you for it. Anyway. I don't remember the details of the quest you are at, but some give instructions on how to re-enter. Some tell you to talk to certain NPC, others tell you to enter through some place. Just check the quest journal (J) to see if it tells you anything there. IF everything fails, you may have to submit a ticket to support so they can help you enter it again.
  19. You need to read the letter for it. If I remember it's called "Trial Invitation" or something close to that.
  20. Well every game has those. It's not that they can't. it's just that they are lazier than me. :D
  21. Many see it as a good idea. Many see it as a bad idea. Won't happen as long as the heads behind the game don't see both good revenue from it and a good agreement within the player base. I personally wouldn't mind the idea, but many players will bring forth reasons why something like this should never happen. Some are valid, some are... not so valid, but still it's their reasoning for it.
  22. This may help a bit. This is just the start of it since this game has a LOT of things for your character to grab and gear on. But these are the basics that put you on a good path. Video is not outdated yet but next patch it may lose a bit of relevance. That's how fast this game moves...
  23. I agree with this. The automotive industry is a shining example of this. Rear view cameras, touch screen panels, LEDs, several ride quality and performance options under the hood... AIR CONDITIONING!. Those were all reserved for the expensive models before they were spread through the economy models years later. Now sure, bns cosmetics is a slightly different thing, but some of these same rules can be applied. I does not mean everyone should be able to easily pick a past rare outfit from F10. But if at least you can grab a new RNG outfit you don't like and just swap it 1:1 with a past outfit you liked, I don't think anybody would be hurt by that. The stuff is still being kept rather rare. You are just given the option to keep this one or grab that one. 1 to 1. The current designer thread box may give a hope for that, but from what I have gathered on the subject, it also comes with diminishing returns if you don't get what you wanted from it, meaning, you can get a new rare outfit, make it into threads, get a designer thread box and end up with something that looks the same as something from F10, or worse (First Step anyone?). Then you dismantle it and get less threads than you poured in, leaving you empty handed. And that is definitely not nice.
  24. So yeah, I'd still then support removing anything that has been available through F10 (even if it's a version that can't be dismantled or dismantled for something else). It would be REALLY vexing to play the rng box just to get something you can easily get with HM coins in terms of looks. Make it give you something that maybe you didn't aim for, but it's at least not found anywhere else (again, I'm strictly talking about the cosmetic look, not what they can be dismantled into). This made me scratch my head. I know a full total newbie with a fresh new character could have problems here. But if a bad and slow player like me can practice them and beat them in less than an hour after initially entering them, I'm sure everyone else can easily do it too. My ONLY problem is F20 and it's two death grab rule, simply because that guy's rotation is random and very fast. By the time I can react to most floor markers there, I'm already getting hit. That's how slow I am. <.< BUT, it's what keeps it challenging even for an untrained whale, and shouldn't be changed. None of the previous floors have this. How easy these floors can be made? If someone adds 25 HM points to regen (that's 5 HM levels), 20 to attack (4 levels) and the rest to HP/defense (usually 15 or 20 depending if you are HM 12 or 13), pretty much nothing in those floors will kill you even if you stand there taking the hits. Floor 19 can be annoying at first (and the floor with the giant "babies" too), but they just require the slightest bit of observation skills to be able to beat them.
  25. I still haven't done koldrak myself. As an old man (in gaming terms), I'm adding that and low tier raids to my "bucket list" of things to do in this game once I get my characters into gear I feel can do something worth with. But anyway yeah, I see what people ask for at F8. People can sometimes seem to demand for way too much from others. But in so many cases that's just to ensure that if a player can't do mechs, they at least have gear to contribute a basic amount of dps.
