Those 2 months could of been targeted toward bots and hackers, but nah, you force all the manpower to focus on profile pictures. What's the point of dealing with profile pictures when the community slowly dwindles away from bots and hackers which are the real issue because it's the core gameplay.

I have literally inspected hundres of people since I started, almost everyone I meet and I have not seen a single offensive thing. How are you people coming up with this shit? Because you saw 1 person that had it? I play in windrest and not a single person I saw had something offensive.

Might wanna read a little more of the post. Illegal images were being used. Not mature, not nsfw, illegal. Now when an image gets uploaded through their system that means their company is now hosting the picture. There have been quite a few hosting sites that were completely taken offline because they couldn't keep up with the content filtering necessary to avoid legal action against them. Know what would be great for the game? Having the US government come in and shut it down.

 

NCsoft has done a lot of stupid things, but don't try to pretend the community is innocent in this. It only took people like a day to implement a work around. You know what that tells me? They should just remove the whole thing from the profile because people can't behave.

Did you even actually check the game rating information?

 

It's 17+ and the "M" rating it has is for Violence, Blood, Suggestive Themes and Use of Alcohol. Doesn't mention sexually explicit content, which is usually an 18+ rating in most countries and would be illegal for anyone under 18 to view.

Seriously, you and the rest of NC can sod off with that steaming pile of crap. You took the lazy way out. Period. You (royal "you") destroyed this games single coolest piece of customization because you couldn't be arsed to moderate it properly. Same damn thing NCs been doing from the start, don't fix the problems, remove them outright. Take loved features away from all the legit players because a few folks got bored. Way to let "them" win.

(And again, not really. What ya'all did is terrible and I think you should all be ashamed of yourselves for even considering such a half...witted non-solution.)

Should blame the community for abusing the feature rather than blaming NCwest.

Other regions are still able to use custom pictures/gifs afaik but that's because it wasn't abused as of over here with porn gifs/pics, and other obscene things.

No we should be blaming ncsw for not doing what we pay them to do & simply adding a report option / monitoring abuse.  Yet again they take the easy / cheap route instead of actually addressing the problem.

This is a blatant example of how underpaid GM's are. The have to take the lazy way to accomplish their goals. This is why we do not have live GM events which constantly happen in all other regions of this game except for NA and EU.

Honestly, I just want them to stop touching things... Just go away, let the servers run until they stop. I have zero confidence in NCs ability to make rational decisions at this point.

I have to giggle a little at this not because I want to make fun of Hime, but because I came to NcSoft to escape Nexons tyranny and ended up getting the short end of the stick when Nexon started sticking their grubby little paws into NcSoft.

 

Going back to my old Nexon games forums....I almost want to return. They actually started to improve things over there :/ Maybe NCsoft should take a hint from their partner in crime and start appeasing the players, give them a little more for their money. I paid for subs over at Nexon as well as here and I am not pleased =.=

The more you know: The same version we are playing here has been rated 12+ in Germany.

That´s not mature by any means. :o

Sexual content is actually a specific label on the ESRB rating system. If they meant sexual content, they would say sexual content!

BnS's rating descriptors don't include that, however - so it's assumed that "Suggestive themes" is most the game will cough up.

 

But if you look at BnS's rating in particular:

Other:

 Indicates possible exposure to unfiltered/uncensored user-generated content, including user-to-user interactions and media sharing via social media and networks

 

 

So the user-uploaded inappropriate pics are already covered in this rating. Hence, rating itself could not be the issue or the driving force behind the change.
