Mine is fixed, and it's bought in 2015. Also according to their system requirements I should be able to run it at ultra with a stable 60fps.

Without spam? Right now I'm watching my boyfriend play and we saw at least 10 spammers. Old Man Cho, NA.

Requesting Gameguard removed is stupid. I get it that you are having issues but I like to be protected tyvm. Also this makes me think you all complaining are the hackers and bot runners.

No sorry I mean their computers don't have spam or junk programs running on them. Yes there is plenty of spam in the game itself lol.

I really doubt all the cases are like this.

 

Requesting Gameguard removed is stupid. I get it that you are having issues but I like to be protected tyvm. Also this makes me think you all complaining are the hackers and bot runners. 

 

Sure, I paid 125 dollars (This is a LOT in my country, and I get it by selling sentimental important things) and lvled 3 characters, taking time and effort to gear my characters and do my dailies with most of them as I can to just risk my account with bots and hacks.

I've never had a problem with Gameguard, but it seems to be ruining the experience for many. +1 from me.

You're right I shouldn't say all of you are hackers and bot runners. However it doesn't change my opinion on the of what I think. I will sacrifice some FPS for better security. You may not want to but this day an d age you can never be too careful.

Actually earlier I didn't find problem playing the game... but I still started this post cos I know how gameguard ruins almost every pc with a firewall installed I don't mean windows firewall...

 

And cos I knew I turned mine off so I was playing fine...  but no spammers? I logged in right after update and within 10seconds I had uncountable amount of gold selling spams XD 

 

That wasted first 5minutes of my time to block... and I only had 10minutes to play it before getting ready for work... 

 

Besides my past experience with gameguard had always been: legit players gets blocked, botters, scripters and hackers don't...

 

Like I said on another post there are hack programs for download to actually hack through gameguard which works....  not like I'm gonna be using it but u know

-1 Most of you are just impatient and don't event let NCSoft enough time to send a hotfix.

 

Let them do an hotfix, they won't change the hackshield like that just because you ask for it. It takes time and an hotfix is much more efficient and will probably solve it.

In fact gameguard doesn't block viruses and Trojans, they send cookies,  Trojans into ur computer to monitor it too, which is also why it crashes with almost every firewall because sometimes the cookies and stuff they send gets detected

I run multiple anti malware programs for that. I just like the hackers prevention.

The GameGuard will increase the game latency specially on pvp. I have notice a 55% to 78% of Memory and CPU utilization after the maintenance with GameGuard added to the client. I don't have that kind of utilization before, It only ranges from 25% to 35% CPU & Memory before the client had a GameGuard. This will kill "Gaming Experience & our Machine". Also adding GameGuard doesn't prove anything, I can still see a lot of Gold sellers/Spammers in game and they even send an in game mail advertising that they sell gold.

If hotfix works I wouldn't have to quit so many games due to gameguard XD

 

Even aura kingdom had a issue on it before, this is old news, but my experience with gameguard is, if u see it and can't get into the game, delete the game, open up the firewall, find w.e was deleted on the blocked list, remove that, then open up ccleaner, clear registry from that, turn off ur firewall  reinstall the game , update it again.... with the firewall off, and always remember to keep ur firewall off before u start playing the game with gameguard on it. If it let's u play the game  u r fine, if u still getting gameguard error then gg, find another game to play.

 

It won't be fixed for the next 3 months and by that time... already forgot at this game played was

I also like the hacker protection but I don't like gameguard cos it likes to cause problems with third party firewalls

You do realize hackers/botters/spammers use modified files to bypass GameGuard, right? It was the same on Lineage 2. Lol @ all the comments "GameGuard protects you", "I like security"... clearly you know nothing about GameGuard, or you're just trolling. Most of the bots are running out of game anyway and the game is never launched through the launcher to begin with. When you see 40 bots in a train you should have figured that out by now. If legit players are unable to play because of GameGuard, then there is no reason to keep it, other than to convince gullible people that it actually works and hasn't been cracked repeatedly starting 10+ years ago.

Actually, it's the inverse for me, regarding "liking to be protected": GameGuard prevents me from playing because I simply refuse to disable my anti-virus to play a video game. GG trips several antivirus programs, and making an exception for it doesn't work, so your options are either to be stupid and make your PC vulnerable while you play, or not play at all and keep your PC safe. My PC is used for both work and gaming, so I don't even consider pausing AV for something like this because the risk doesn't outweigh the gain, even if I like BnS a lot.

 

Seriously though, it's 2016, and malware/ransomware/viruses can pop up in ads being served on innocent websites, reputable websites can be compromised and used to infect your PC, etc etc etc. Expecting your players to disable programs like antivirus or graphics-related programs in order to get into your game is absolutely absurd, particularly in a game where the translation is so unreliable that people will need to frequently be alt-tabbing to their browser to look up what skills actually do and so on. Having AV off when you're doing that is really naive and stupid, but that is what NCSoft is asking of many of us as long as they leave GG enabled.

 

So a big +1 to removing GG, because until they do, BnS isn't playable for me.

I have understand this and I am very careful of this IE no porn sites or unregistered sites for me. I just like having the anti hackers prevention. I just wish it blocked more but I have noticed a huge difference so far.

 

Just wanted to add, this is very naive. Just as an example of something "safe" that you may not expect: Skype ads are known for attempting to deliver malware, it's why so many people have to make edits to block their ads. Literally no website is exempt from being hacked and used as a way to infect the PCs of people unlucky enough to visit before it gets cleaned up. Using adblock can help a lot, but a lot of ad networks don't properly vet their ads and will serve malicious ads, and adblock extensions don't always recognize every ad network out there as an ad. I've played MMOs where common player-use sites where we shared builds/item info were compromised to install keyloggers and it resulted in waves of players (who usually admitted to having lax PC security) having their accounts hacked. This is why I say that disabling your AV for this game is a terrible idea, and not an acceptable thing for NCSoft to require of its playerbase.

 

I mean, we're getting a bad enough rap for all the bots and spammers and hackers already. Can you imagine how bad it would look for NCSoft if a site like, say, bnstree got compromised in the way as my prior example and suddenly all the players who had been disabling their security programs just to play the game ended up getting their accounts stolen because of that decision? That would be the PR nightmare of all time :X

^What he said. I built my machine for $600 USD. And the fact I spent so little brings me shame from the so- called "master-race". But it still runs B&S beautifully. And the new update with gameguard is making zero difference.

I don't really care, I will just stop playing while a rootkit is required. I was logging to buy Ncoins for more character slots so I could play a warlock when I saw I needed to install malware to log in. Then I stoped update and uninstalled. If they remove the virus, I will come back.

Gameguard does not provide extra security in the way some people in this thread believe.  Its not going protect your account from malicious intrusions; as far as I am aware its to stop bots and gold spammers from accessing the game.  Therefore, no added security for you, it's for NCSOFT.

 

Gameguard may actually be doing its job, but its doing it very, very poorly.  Its processes frequently flag anti virus programs and firewalls, and prevent legitimate players from enjoying the game.  There are other protection members used by other f2p mmos, that do not seem to have this problem with every update.  I've played TERA, Dragon's Nest, Dungeon and Dragons Online, Wildstar, Guild Wars 2, Path of Exile, Dragon's Prophet, the list goes on, and have not encountered a more poorly implemented anti-hacking system before.

 

Please remove Gameguard and all of its legacy files so we do not have to consistently encounter this problem.  NCSoft has deactivated it, so why not just remove the files?
