To me the issue with it is simply that F is a normal part of a lot of classes DPS rotation, so suddenly you get stunned right before that phase and blow your F escape ability and now you no longer have it available when you need it to F -> SS and get out of her AoE. The mechanic itself isn't unfair, simply how it's implemented. Just shows laziness and a lack of understanding how their own system function.

I guess it has to do with the timing @Prototypemind. A player could accidentally press F and waste it, or sometimes they use F for one attack, but another one follows immediately afterwards that also requires F. Bottom-line is that I get what you're saying, and it sounds to me like while a player could avoid one attack, the other is guaranteed unless it's an AoE attack you could move out of the way.

Since Class change ticket will never be a thing so players have to start from 0 and pay all over again to upgrade their gears.
I dont understand why they never add an option that can be bought with both NCCoins/HongmoonCoins that will allow you to change your characters hairstyle/hair coulour.
Why should we have to pay 1.000 coins when we only want to change hair colour or hairstyle?
In Aion (Aion was NCsofts game) you could dye your characters hair for free.

Okay, @Sherry Kaizer brought up a good point here. Can we please make this more well-known. One of the strengths in Blade & Soul is the character customization, but NCSOFT tarnishes it with their greed. Let's put this suggestion in the air, please.

You make me laugh more than the OP, why the heck are you trying to defend him so hard and say that it's poor planning and bad design from the developers when you never even have seen the miniboss the thread is about? You know nothing yet you judge that it's the developers fault, but you know what it's like the others already said, it's perfectly possible to avoid as well as protect against this attack. It's just another thread by someone who refuses to learn mechanics and instead cries in the forum.

At least I'm not feeding this player's rage and whining unlike you who does it for fun @Cor.

It's also funny that you don't know what sarcasm is. @Snowyamur

Anyways, all I did was go to the old launcher, pressed play. After that, it gave a pop up, It took me to the website and I downloaded and followed directions.

I got through it just fine, so still trying to figure out what could've went wrong.

Yeah, not to add drama, but I don't understand sarcasm. Reading online text gives me no cue for sarcasm unless I hear it in a sarcastic tone, or it's written in a sarcastic way.

And your "tt" relates HOW to they buhaltery? They can give it in bank to pay to workers and programmers? No? What a hell you talking? And you shud whait normal launcher and use your eyes, not just push random buttons. ALL "file deletions" are noticed.

    Um... what @Indifferent??

That's funny, the new launcher did not delete anything on mine. I downloaded it normally and got through just fine.

Not funny for the user currently dealing with this issue on their end @Estellia.

But personally if you are runninga dungeon for the first time, you should at least go the extra mile to either watch a video or ask or read a guide. If you dont do that and then complain about the boss one shotting you....you know what i mean.

I know what you mean. Unfortunately, not everyone does that. For some, Blade & Soul is the first MMORPG they've ever played, whereas for others like me, this is the 4th or 5th MMORPG. However, that's no excuse for dismissing common sense when thinking about whether to run a dungeon or not, or some instance where you work with others. Normally, you would want to be prepared for an event before participating in it, but that flies over many heads because people just "play the game to learn," when that's sometimes the wrong way to approach learning about game mechanics, or learning about how to deal with certain in-game situations, like boss fighting.

all the game files related to BnS in the program files directory. Not the client config settings in documents though so I didn't need to set my UI up again the way I like it once the game eventually downloaded again

Okay, that's pretty strange @RagingPhenix. Have you tried removing the entire NCSOFT Launcher 2 and Blade & Soul program clean from your PC, reboot your PC, then try installing it again?

I also didn't say everyone was stupid, please don't insert that in my mouth.

    @Khaen

I didn't mean to put words in your mouth, but that doesn't mean you're right about how I thought of your ongoing issue with the game.

I wasn't tilted when I typed up that response. I calmly approached your complaints and didn't jump on you violently and harshly like any other online player with mental, anger-management problems would. However, considering you just jumped to the idea that I was tilted, I'd say you have an issue, not just with the game, but with properly reading online text.

I get that this game has problems; there are design flaws everywhere. Systems in the game don't make sense, some things don't work, there are bugs, and it's clear NCSOFT wants our money, so they're feeding off the whales that use their yearly Treasure Trove. However, I think that one of the greatest issues with companies, inclusive of NCSOFT, being able to address this game's problems is that we don't display them in a way that's constructive; we yell at them about the bad stuff without coming up with a solution that could be better, and we do so in a harsh way. Why do you think some game companies don't bother listening to us? They see us as a blind consumer base who yells at them about problems that do exist, but it's gotten to the point where listening is annoying, so they won't fix it because they don't listen.

If you're tired of dealing with really bad players who can't play CS, take a step back, breath, and calm down. Do something else in the game, or play another game to calm down.

I form my conclusions of them based on their show of competence, or their utter ineptitude

For a videogame? If someone is just bad at playing a videogame, how is that an accurate measure of competence? That just means they're bad at the game they play, have no clue how some of the game's mechanics work, or don't even know about the game's mechanics. Based on your case, the people you dealt with just don't know how the mechanics work for Cold Storage work; that doesn't mean they're inept as actual people.

Before you jump on me saying you didn't call anyone inept or incompetent, you generalized how you form your conclusions on "show of competence, or their utter ineptitude." You didn't say competence or ineptitude in relation to what.

You don't have to be brilliant or very smart to play a game like Blade & Soul, unless you're taking this game very seriously, or even too seriously. If people are playing to have fun, who cares about the in-depth mechanics. But, I guess everyone's different.

Hey i am playing a destroyer , and i finished the quest "The Dead Refuse to Die" and i chose the reward "Pulse Mystic Badge Chest" . But when i opened the chest it gave me a Pulse Mystic Badge for Force Master instead? This is a bug right ?

Yeah, that sounds like a bug to me @ConfusedApe. Could just be some error, but then again, you didn't get the right class item when [I think} you were supposed to.

Pretty much the title. I installed the new launcher it deleted all my game files. GG I was getting ready for TT too, good luck getting support to compensate me for that one.

So, installing the new launcher deleted all the game files for Blade & Soul only, or did it delete other games' files?

If it deletes other game files upon installation, then that's a huge problem. Where did you place your installation and game files folder? Maybe the location got bugged.

If you cant comprehend such simple mechanics i dread to think how you do in dungeons.

Everyone thinks differently, @Grimoir. Some get mechanics faster than others, or some look up a guide by someone who figured it out, learn about it, then come to insult others about not knowing it despite having not known it themselves before. I'm not accusing you of having looked up a guide to figuring out this boss' mechanic, then coming on to the forums to insult someone who didn't know about it, but this commonly happens, and the insults are usually unnecessary.

I just think Stryker overreacted and got mad because he gets insta-killed by a [mini?] boss that bypasses Dragon Blood orbs, and in-general, no one in any game likes getting insta-killed, especially for dungeon, raid, and PvP in MMORPGs, unless it's a scripted event in a game's story that's under the right context. However, in my opinion, judging from what Stryker pointed out, if this mini boss' mechanic does bypass Dragon Blood Orbs, that's poor game design. Sure, it sounds unique, but when this is a mechanic designed to help players, as well as a mechanic that can be bought (Golden Dragon Blood Orb) through microtransactions, that's a problem.

I think it would've been better if this mini boss disabled Dragon Blood Orbs for any players it attacks by inflicting a debuff that does so, and adding an ability that nearly insta-kills, but doesn't outright kill the player instantly. Sounds boring to some, but I think it's fair.

  12. 4 hours ago, StrykerGaming said:

I don't know who or what intellectually challenged developer thought that giving a non-enraged mini-boss one-shot kill ability that by passes dragon blood orbs or the ability to cast a charm that cannot be broken, but the fact that this mechanic is in the game in the Ebondrake Lair dungeon is beyond the pale.

There is NO ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ing defense or explanation for doing so. One has to be of limited mental ability to believe this is a fun, engaging, and challenging boss mechanic. It is ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ poor planning and execution on the part of the developers for putting this in the game.

Charmed and dead. The Bloodlust developers have show they are limited in their ability to recognize their own failure for allowing this into a game. I'd not said a word if this was part of an enraged mechanic. However, it is not and it does not belong in this dungeon. Like their lying to us about the White Orbs and the Demon Soul Stones, it is just another failure in a long list of failures on those who develop this game. What's next? A standard mob one-shotting the Hongmoon Master(s) with a ball peen hammer? Enough, fix this awful lame and bad mechanic.

Okay, first off, calm down @StrykerGaming. Developers make mistakes; we're all human; we all make mistakes. From what you said, this sounds more like a design flaw than a programming error, so I would blame the game designers for this one.

Secondly, I agree. Giving a mini-boss, let alone bosses, a one-shot ability with little to no defense against it is a horribly-designed mechanic, especially if it bypasses Dragon Blood orbs; that actually sounds broken. If this was scripted for the story's game, however, I'd say otherwise, but it isn't.

While I've never played the Ebondrake Lair (since I'm a long-time returning player) I can understand your frustrations. Is it poor planning? Yes. Is it poorly executed? I can't say since I never fought this mini boss in the Ebondrake Lair, but if you aren't experiencing massive bugs or glitches while fighting the boss, I'd say the issue is really, really bad design.

I guess this is how they keep players busy. It feels like forcing workers to use spoons for digging the ground when you have bulldozers, but it is probably the normal practice for any successful Korean MMO.

Actually, a lot of gaming industries tend to cheap players off by making changes like this, not just Korean game industries. It's a cutthroat business, and all industries are out to make money. They'll find ways to psychologically-force you to buy their in-game currency and use it to buy horribly-, but intentionally-, designed items that are priced and marketed the way they are to make money.

But, while these changes are hidden attempts at forcing players to buy NCoin to purchase in-game gold off the Currency Exchange (given how bad farming gold is in this game), that's the nature of F2P games. If a company releases a F2P game, they have to make money off of something, and microtransactions is the best way to do it. For NCSOFT, how they do it is to shape, design, and program in-game mechanics differently that favors the company financially.

Nerf xp gains, then you can make a subscription that allows players to earn double the xp, encouraging them to spend if it's faster for them. Nerf gold drops, especially from the mobs, dungeon rewards, and dailies, then you make a new system (Currency Exchange) that uses payable currency to exchange for in-game gold, and players will technically "buy" their gold.

I don't want to say NCSOFT is feeding off player impatience entirely, but they sort-of are. The company also understands that by making things harder, they could take advantage of player impatience and make their game P2W, but I wouldn't stretch that this game is wholly P2W, unless you only PvP in this game, which in that case, it is P2W.

NCSOFT is just being smart, but real jerks, about their consumer markets, and it's continuing to hurt them.

i know that they nerf the gold reward so that there wouldnt be inflation or what its called when gold becomes worthless but at least add some new ways to farm!

I wouldn't say it's inflation if they nerf gold rewards; it's more like preventing players from easily buying everything from just about any merchant. If players were able to earn hundreds of gold/ hour through constant grinding or dailies, then the game would be a breeze because you could just buy everything.

However, I agree with you about having new ways to farm @i wanna die. If getting gold from dungeon and daily rewards was nerfed, at least add better methods to farming gold.

Maybe make mobs drop more gold, perhaps drop random items, that way there's an actual market and incentive to kill mobs. It frustrates me as an MMORPG gamer that mobs drop the same items over and over, and they aren't worth anything.

Or maybe, have events where gold drops are increased, or even doubled from rewards; that'll also incentivize and help players get more gold for their needs.

Whether the individual players possess a brain with which to utilize their class and character is another story.

I wouldn't say the people behind the players you queue up with, who aren't doing as good as you expect, are stupid. I'm not one of those "That's rude to say that people," but it is harsh to assume players who aren't up to your level are stupid. I just think they haven't taken the time to fully playthrough or master their current class, which is why their performance is bad.

With all these free Level 60 boosts going around like Christmas candy, it's expected to have players struggle figuring out how their class and specs work. That's what happens when you decide to skip through the entire story line, quests, mobs, etc. of the game; you lose out not only on the game's story, but the opportunity to test out new skills you unlock as you progress in the game. It's why in MMORPGs, players who've played through just about everything end up better than players who just skipped everything.

If I was in your shoes @Khaen, I'd be pissed off and frustrated as well if the players I queued up with are garbage, but I don't assume the actual people behind the screens are stupid. I just think they should not do CS until they understand their class more, as well as understanding how CS works more in-depth.

    Quote

Either nerf the boss so everyone can do this event, or raise the bar so the success rate is at least plausible

I would say a temporary nerf for the CS boss would be viable, since so many players either returning or new to the game are going to buy Level 60 boosters to try the end-game content, and it's likely they'll have no idea how their class really works.
