  1. If you learnt the mechanics, you don't actually need much gear to run those, but then again you know how people are stuck on the whole lets burn it down so it doesn't take long so you are probably right...
  2. And yet when most people ran those raids in your example did they already have Celestial gear? Nope. So sure it offers a smoother run and faster but it isn't required in order to clear. That is all we are saying and the community setting unrealistic requirements is actually bad for everyone. You have people complaining about not being able to catch up and your actually helping with the pay wall by setting those requirements. Helping players out will always outweigh restricting them. I'm no Mother Teresa but at the same time I would much rather help players out so as a whole since in the long term of things eventually the content will die down when we do in fact catch up to Korea and the more players that can run those raids will help not hurt the community.
  3. Well I don't play enough to turn this into a '2nd job' and still do just fine. That is also why the ranking system needs to be changed in my opinion to best rank on your account counts, not every character on the account but that is a subject for another day. Always being behind in the content isn't too bad. I make gold, help out friends, relax and enjoy the game and reductions bump me up a tier. I'm in no rush to be maxed or really care seriously about this game competitively as their are much better choices for that type of play. As for would I start all of that over, I'm not exactly normal as I don't mind the grind so much and I'm used to it from other games which were to be frank much much harder then this. But to each their own right?
  4. I personally play as my own pace and the math I did for the soul you seem to take out of context as that was income based on what I currently make daily. It was to show that to get to current max it is still possible for those free players to obtain. Of course that doesn't include the heart / pet aura and talisman however pet aura would take less time or about the same now with the upcoming release of another tier. Which could be done once you reach a decent tier of weapon and do your other earring, ring, bracelet, gloves. The only real reason to be at max gear is to reach top spots for competitive pvp (6vs6). Edit: Forgot to mention "If" I was really worried about my DPS and being in the #1 spot in the meter I would just actually spend the gold I make in order to upgrade my characters instead of helping out clan members catch up. Which includes on my archer which I know with min. gear will be doing some good numbers regardless. The does doesn't allow them to do the latest content. Seriously so when I see players recruit for Nightfall wanting players to have Celestial gear in order to do it, is the game saying that? Like wise with Scarlet. Hell I still see requirements on Skybreak / MSP, but that is NCSoft and not the community. Got ya. The people that actually do challenge mode are a exception but how many actually do that? As of today 60 teams. So 600 characters (w/o actually going through and checking how many might be the same account / team with alts). With the exception of raids though everyone can do for the most part on day 1 barring actually knowing the mechanics newer dungeons that are released. It is the community that raises the bar of gear "they" require for players to do stuff. That is all I'm saying. In the end I will continue to enjoy the game, players will continue to ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ and it gives me something fun to read most mornings for my breakfast so keep it up guys =)
  5. Run stuff on Hard Mode and profit? It doesn't take long to learn mechanics. Plenty of videos and guides.
  6. I'm under the impression from the stream we will only have Easy and Hard, no Normal. Either way I feel dungeons shouldn't of ever been touched and made easier as honestly they are easy even on hard mode as long as everyone knows what they are doing.
  7. Was a example and yes I do get the concept. Since many of you guys want to burn down everything and then when it comes to actually needing to do mechanics most know next to ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ about them (was my example). More AP doesn't equal knowledge as someone could of always bought the account so they didn't have to start from level 1, they could of whaled out like some people do, voucher then figure, "Oh I'll just learn how to play later". Plenty of examples can be supplied in that regard. It is fine, you do you, I / we will do us if we decide to be helpful but don't come and try to say that the community isn't in part to blame. Also, the whole point of my post is the difference in gear compared to mine was to show you that gear and AP do not equal knowledge and sometimes depending on the amount of screwball players it will also make runs longer due to wiping. Why else do you think Ocean Discord Server came to be in the first place? Also I was considered the "trap" as you so nicely put it and carried that Aransu 9 party (Glided Gems minus Garnet / 1 Set floats on my account so yea) My Destroyer's BNS Tree
  8. There is the common attitude I speak of. Ap means very little and I really hope you understand that if not then that is a whole another issue then everything we are speaking about. Had a Aransu 9 party for example just today in Shadowmoor, they considered me a carry at Rift 6 but couldn't take it off me and they caused a wipe a few times before I explained how to cheese the mechanic for the first boss since you are no longer required to do the crystal mechanic. You'd be surprised how many high AP players I have to school on my various characters in higher content.
  9. It really isn't on NCSoft for the way the community is though is what I'm saying. Unless your doing raids working on the next tier gear, you do not need what 95% of the community recruits for to do dungeons etc.. Also knowing this game is meant to be played on multiple characters and for those unwilling to swipe or do just that, then yes they are at a huge disadvantage. It is a poor game design but its the design we have to deal with if you want to continue playing this game. At least you have a option while limited for free items during events, some games don't even offer that and just offer at most a outfit by doing said event. And yes I've stated a lot that as things get rolled out people don't have time to adjust due to update after update when it really should of been spaced out more so people could adjust, use systems that might be in place during one update to catch up so when / if it was removed they'd be in a better spot but that is just how it goes sometimes. Also, while they do lower the amount of gold from some dungeons they also shuffle it to others. I mean just doing moon refuge a day is 4 gold for killing some easy monsters and picking up loot which if you do it in stride with the repeatable quest you can honestly make up to 24 gold just in like 5-10 mins (which anyone can do due to spider parties or moon tide bay). In general though it is the community that needs to change its way of thinking. You have some groups on Korea that are somewhat like ours that want to try to limit you but for the most part they just don't care because honestly the content is easy. I for one will say this, if at anytime someone needs a run, new or old and doesn't know the mechanics or just needs help they are always welcome to my discord and to run it with my clan as we will take the time to explain things even while we carry so you learn. -Ryunosuke Takahashi (Nightmare Syndicate Leader -Yura)
  10. I honestly don't see the major issue you all seem to be complaining about. This is a MMORPG / Online game. You do not need to go from out of story to end game in a matter of days, months etc. So some of the gold is being lowered. You can still go do Battleground if that is what you enjoy. You have a new dungeon to learn and run for a better bracelet / new weapon tier (if your the dungeon path) to work on over time. Make friends, join a fun clan and just enjoy the game for what it is a time killer and entertainment. Sure there is now 8 Daily Challenges, and more Unity levels to go through but is there anything saying you 'must' cap your unity or do all of those dungeons a day? Just the voice in your head my friend.
  11. Game would actually be much different in my opinion if you couldn't buy raid stuff, gems from the market and honestly that could be a good or bad thing depending on how you look at it, just like the current market system is. People who can spend don't mind it, people who can't or choose not to hate it. You can never please everyone and in that regard they are trying to play the middle ground while it seems like they are going against their policy. Policies can change just as much as everything else and honestly it is probably what keeps this game afloat due to the amount of other issues it has with the bugs.
  12. Yea but they just have to learn those like everyone else did before people were OP like they are now.
  13. That is why I listed the other sources of moonstone which do pile up over time. While limited on the amount it is still a means to save up and then craft. Again you do not have to rush in upgrades which most people seem to want to do regardless. Convenience. You can obtain the same thing by normal means or speed up the process by doing Trove or F10. Now it would be very different if say the outfits or whatever you got from the cash shop would offer stats that you couldn't obtain by normal playing (and please don't include time frames because I get tired of repeating myself) ie: A special outfit that would offer extra hp, critical etc.. while free players are stuck with vanity only event outfits that offer none. Hopefully that makes sense to you. I always felt when it came to raiding which I still laugh when I see in-game personally people still putting requirements on even Skybreak for like Aransu, when you can legit run it with basic understanding of the mechanics involved straight out of story now a days and meet the damage requirements so each boss doesn't hit the enrage timer. Temple of Eluvium really only requires at most Raven,Rift or Dawnforge 9 with maxed Skybreak Accessories. Nightfall Sanctuary really only requires at most Aransu, Storm or Exalted 9 with max Skybreak and Hellion Accessories. Scarlet Conservatory really only requires at most Grand Celestial, Sky or Shadowforge 9 with max Celestial Accessories and Imperial Accessories. Also to note. The Most you truly need in order to do Midnight Skypetal Plains effectively is Aransu, Storm or Exalted 3 with Skybreak and Hellion Accessories (doesnt need max). While they could of did a better job to make it more friendly for those who choose to only use 1 character, that I will at least agree on. It could of been so much more worst then it is currently and you can while not ideal catch up by using more then 1 character. As for the Ancient Weapon which will sit above Thornbreaker most will stop at +13 due to the failure rate so don't expect to see many if any at +20.
  14. Why, it doesn't require that gear to actually run it? I run it on my Earth Destroyer with just Rift 6, sure my bracelet isn't bad and I can sustain 500-600k (still working on gear) but no dungeon requires much gear in order to do when you consider your in a party of 6 players. It is almost the same as say a person with current end game gear kicking you from Heaven's Mandate because your only grand celestial or below when most can actually solo that at rift/dawn/raven 9. Hopefully you get my point.
  15. That is unfortunate as I'm the biggest free to play player on here and I even have some Legendary Ascensions on my summoner and other alt characters. Just how luck of the draw goes sometimes, it isn't their fault. Most whales can buy is purples which can still fail when going for Legendary so let me point that out. Good for you on doing Scarlet Conservatory. Also, I just got done not too long ago coming down on their approach to catching up quickly to Korea and their event choices not something a true white knight would do but cool story bro / sis. I play the game on 10 characters, 9 of which do dailies and weeklies so no point in bringing that up. Also if you want to play it on just 1 go for it, you'll just have a harder time and such but that doesn't make the game pay to win, it still is pay to progress faster. You say to-may-to, I say to-mah-to. Also, the whole unity thing isn't pay to win even with the reputation charms, it is just there as a convenience for those who can't play as long or use as many characters in order to max out their unity. Remember how people would complain about not enough time to fill the 250,000 unity cap and now it is 500,000 for those of us who can meet the cap daily? Yes I rest my case.
  16. Or play the game and do the damn thing lol. Seriously I do this on all of my characters fully a day in a short amount of time which gives me the rest of the day to help clan members. It doesn't take that much time if you have a good clan/group to run with. Also, I'm not a white knight more of the drunkard in the back laughing at those complaining at minor things. They also don't nerf gold in dungeons but shuffle it to the higher dungeons in order to get players to want to do it which frankly I was doing warped citadel since day of its release without max gear (omg I know). None of them are hard.
  17. That is why the updates really should of been spaced out more so players could catch up like how Korea was able to for the most part on their version. Lag for the most part while I can only speak of my own internet and the NA server. I don't disconnect often in the last month maybe once. I'm on cable. I don't lag unless it is peak time in my area but the lag isn't very noticeable which means it isn't so much their servers but your net when it comes to lag. I always felt that the dungeons never should of been 'dumbed' down and why remove hard mode / merge the loot tables, it gave players like myself a reason to do hard mode for the minor challenge they offered. Lets face it all of the mechanics in the current dungeons / raids are far from challenging compared to other games. Event wise, they really should have a team solely working on those which most companies do, but they cut down costs and time to fling them out every month by reusing events and just changing rewards which sorry NCSoft but that is just lazy. It doesn't attract new players and it makes the current players abuse glitches that they can to just speed through the stuff to get it over with like with the current Frozen Firing / Carnival Event. Personally, I feel to get newer events we need to cut them back to like every 2 months to give them time to work on them and to fix glitches / bugs and actually listen to players in order to give better rewards for effort / time involved that works for our version of the game not korea's timeline.
  18. So many things to touch on so little time. You ignored my results the RNG and jumped to something else. Let me ask you this. You mention moonstones, they give you the option to get them from doing battlegrounds, you get them in rng / small amounts from the daily and weekly challenge chests. Could the amount be better? Sure buddy! They gave you some more sources for the crystals. Upgrading your gear cost crystals. Also prices adjust due to the amount of supplies on market. If less people are selling the materials in order to transmute a item of course the item in question will raise in price. Marketing 101. Now them giving out the stage 11 soul / pet aura. Did it really screw out older players all that much? I mean before the change to a 5 stage system, they only saved 10 stages and maybe 1 event worth of pet pods. However it was to help 'newer players' catch up to a very low point much like the weapon upgrade / accessory upgrade events. Could they of handled your example of the energy > powder thing better sure, but at least you got some sort of gold returned. So they tried to make some kind of amends to it. I've looked at F10 and honestly all I see trove is included is pay 2 progress. While we / you might not like to admit what they are doing currently while it may look like pay 2 win, is more of a grey area. "No paywalls will hold you back, and no amount of money will give you an unfair competitive advantage over other players. We don’t like pay-to-win, so what we are offering are cosmetics, convenience, and consumables – not power, not gear, not permanent stat increases." Pay walls do not hold anyone back, grant it the time frame for the amount of effort might make some think otherwise..Everyone is able to get the same items as everyone else just the time frame is vastly different. Anyways, I'm going to go get my breakfast, was a fun read Merlin but in the end I still say, nothing in this game requires end game gear in order to do unless your speaking about raids which honestly should since they are to be harder content, however to enjoy the game and to progress you honestly do not need to rush everything and be at the max gear when the new tier is released on day 1. If you feel you 'must' be at that level in gear then you have the option to pay money for a shortcut. It is a option but not required.
  19. First part of my post was a example. If players do research like they should when it comes to certain mechanics yes they could do the dungeons straight out of story which yes would even include things like RT then with some upgrading up to Warped Citadel. Most however are lazy. Certain specs just don't need a lot of gear in order to do good enough dps in order to clear. So, it is possible as long as they don't have it in their head they are not good enough and must be carried through content. My pc requirement comment was just explaining to you and others this game doesn't take a powerful computer in order for it to be semi stable in order to play. I personally use a i-3 dell desktop, 4 gb video and 8gb ram. Now I might not get 80-100 fps, the game holds steady at 20-30 fps even while in raids due to tweaking I've done and I hold my own again those with much higher fps (without bns buddy mind you). So the current requirements are just fine. They will increase of course with UE4.
  20. Actually it was made and put in-game due to the changes from the old spec to the new awakening system/skill update so players could freely try out the specs to figure out 'what they wanted to be when they grew up'. Personally it only cut out the need to buy a 2nd VT badge in order to use the better spec for PVP and possibly switch your soul badge over for the pvp soul badge fusion.
  21. I wasn't around for that but if it is anything like the change for like the orbs / feathers for Heaven's Mandate / Cold Storage, it kind of would of screwed up the economy to a point. You forget one key thing that others do as well. Korea had time to adjust to different changes. We are catching up to them too fast for those content hungry players which results in a lot of weird changes being put in place just after we got a patch last month. If our timeline was more like Korea's things wouldn't be so bad as people have more time to adept to systems and adjust for certain changes. I know this is Korea so don't mention it and try to make some irreverent post about such since yes we are NA/EU however Korea still determines what we get and what we don't.
  22. Not really feasible to NA either for the most part but you can't have things both ways. A) we could play at a steady pace with updates here and there making this version of Blade and Soul stretched out for the timeline that KR had which this would result in less complaints about changes that we seem to get every month but would also make people unhappy because they watch new content going to KR including the new classes, 3rd specs etc. B) We stay the course we're on now and stay semi current with the content and just deal with the complaints since we have changes every month to systems that we aren't use to. Either way people will ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ one way or another. No one is ever just happy.
  23. Then explain my current rates on just 10 runs? And Trove should be announced soon for the 18th. I guess I'm just lucky? Also, I understand that they could but with the RNG being what it is especially on some items it is basically he/she said on IF they actually touched the rates. I mean look at the drop rate on certain outfits like Infinite Challenge, Red Mask, Secret Agent (yes I know you can no longer get agent outfit) just to name a few and here I got Infinite Challenge during my Story run through of it back when we still had the side quests and such while others take 500-1000 runs and still not have it, care to explain that? I have obtained a few purple from the Daily Challenge box as well as refining since they put those in F10, so I just say the same thing to you I'm not defending the company I'm sharing my experience which to you that seems to have some really bad luck on things want to seem like I'm defending them go right ahead and keep thinking that because honestly it doesn't matter in the long run. Also, I wasn't on the game back then as I have stated before I've only played since Feb. 3 2018. They gave you the option to buy keys from my understanding if you just gave up on the odds of obtaining it by normal means which frankly in my opinion is also how trove works currently. Sorry it just seems to me your too jaded as a player dealing with the past to really see clearly when it comes to NCSoft. I've played on many of their games and can say while I might not agree with some of the practices, they have done a very good job on Blade and Soul for the most part aside from the bugs that shouldn't of made it past beta stage and some stupid removals of certain items making it very hard for players now a days to obtain without spending ncoin / most of their gold on (ie: fabric) and the fact that they removed the world boss from Misty Woods etc.. All of my posts are based on my current experience.
  24. That won't happen until UE4 to be honest with you which will be sometime next year (mid/end) by my guess. Which is kind of weird considering I know some people who get 80-120 fps on high end pc. *shrug* I'm in your boat with the 20 combat fps (whether I'm in a raid or not) but my pc is just a office computer so I can't complain ;)
