I keep getting whisper chats from [edited] that read GM1:hi,System update compensation, please login:[edited] receive 100Gold,Frozen StingerX200,800-Ncoin 

seems like a scam with it being in whisper chat and all plus I would belive any compensation would be sent threw the ingame mail or threw the Hongmoon store 

manly making this post to let people know and stuff ^.^

This is indeed a scam and you can report any suspicious behavior  to our Support team, so they can take a look.

Any message that contains "Frozen Stinger" in it should jump out to you as a scam anyway. Frozen Stingers were phased out and renamed to Sacred Orbs almost a year and a half ago.

They're bots that spam whispers to everyone in their zone, that's known since 2016, isn't new for everyone, besides that, '200 frozen stingers' those bots are from stone age, there's no frozen stingers anymore..

Ya, GMs won't ever message you in-game. Report anyone who sends you a website link as a spammer or bot, as they're trying to do a phishing scam. You can also screenshot the message and submit a ticket.

 

Unfortunately, these scammers just make new accounts and characters to skirt punishment, but the more we do to stop each of their scam accounts, the more difficult we make it for them.

You would think the scammers would change to the Frozen Stingers to something else, because it would be stupid not to.  Right?  Frozen stingers aren't even obtainable in game anymore.  But when you think about why they haven't changed it, that's when it hits you.  Why bother putting forth the effort to change something when people are still falling for it.  Enough so that they don't feel the need to change it.  That's kinda sad.
