Everyone who has arena lag in EU

Here's the sad news in regard where my support ticket end up.  In the end, they ask me to run some PingPlotter for 30 minutes and send it to them.  They looked at it and conclude that its a massive packet loss and I have to contact my ISP directly to resolve the problem.  The funny thing is, open world on the same game latency was great (65) and other games like ESO and Guild Wars 2 are also fine.  Looks like they are not going to do anything about it but just blaming on my ISP.

LOL. So.. 2 weeks ago, 20+ ISPs decided to become FAULTY with Arenas/Dungeons in Blade & Soul.

I can't believe what I am even reading - Thanks for reporting that to us.

I wonder how they will address this when they find a fix. Perhaps they will push it quietly and hope they don't need a public mea culpa?

Im playing from Bulgaria and i have around 40-90 latency max in PVE or in PVP. I suggest if you are playing on laptop use ethernet cable not wifi or if u are using wifi make your router invisible, because at least for me when i start Bns and play for around 30minutes and random mac adresses are trying to connect to mine. Also u can check when u are in arena in cmd type tracert and the ip of the server and if there is delay or package loss before reaching germany its ISP problem or your, but if is not then the problem is somewhere else.

Today I found reason why I have lags, now I'm working on solution.

I'm playing on EU server.

If you want to check if you have the same problem:

a) Open cmd.exe

b) Write: pathping 206.127.148.171 (this is EU server adress and it can take up to 5 min.)

c) Copy results here

You have the same problem :) I don't know if you know what happens here, but I'm going to say.

Your connection is going through Telia.net. Telia.net is a Sweden server who helps you connect with B&S. And as you can see on result, you have raise of PING and packet lost at Telia.net.

Just put "Telia.net lags" in google. There are a tons of crying about their terrible service.

All lags, packet lost/delays are caused because their service. Also problem with good connection at the morning and bad at the evening is known to everyone.

This is not only problem in B&S. Milions of players have the same problem in many games.

I think this is official statement about lags in B&S, and NCSoft propably have nothing to do here, and they wont do it.

A lot of people reported this problem to Telia.net. They said that they will fix it till the end of the month. But they are just saying.

In League of Legends is the same problem, but they are in better possition because Riot contacts with Telia.net and try to force them to fix it. NCSoft don't care.

There are two ways to fix it.

1. Wait for Telia.net when their repair it.

2. Change route to don't connect by Telia.net (people use WTFast, BattlePing and others programs, and it helps but to not everyone. Myself, I'm in fase of testing it).

There is another thing to know. I have not static IP and I have not always lags, because Telia.net limit some range of IP. People confirmed it that lags are bigger on IP starting on 83.* and less on 31.*. This is only example.

So I think you should stop blame NCSoft and start to think about Telia.net. Maybe your internet provider can change route to avoid Telia.net, I will try it later.

Oh Limo, in your case, WTFast and others wont change anything, because your internet is mainly Telia lol. So you are in lost position.

I want to add that I'm from Poland and I connect to Frankfurt in Germany by Telia.net which is in Sweden. This is pathetic.

Yes, most likely, this is the source of what ever the problem is

if I could skip this hop than I dont know what would happen. But I can't change it. Calling to my ISP? they won't do shit, Ncsoft won't do shit.

Dunno whos hands that node is ncsoft or telia, propably telia, but not in my hands for sure.

This is already something in ncsoft and propably just dont allow requests

                                0/ 100 =  0%   |

With WTFast? dunno. just balls overall

And Just to put it out there other games my connection to germany is prefectly fine. TF2, CS:Go, Quake Live for example I get perfectly fing ping to german servers no propblems at all.

Are you sure that those servers are in Germany? This can complicate problem, but anyway it is highly connected with Telia.net.

What we can do? We can ask  NCSoft about Telia.net and ask Telia.net about NCSoft.

For others people the simplest solution would be to skip Telia, not all ISP connect to them.

I have been trying to figure out how i can possibly have lag in BNS ..

new built PC .. 60/10 speed ISP with no packet loss and 7 ms as worst ping to anywhere in California (I can't ping BNS at all) and I live in NA NE

It ISN'T MY ISP NCSoft .. get yourself together and figure it out the issue IS within your own set ups but YOU figure to ignore it an it will go away it seems .. YEP it will go away as do the players having what IS crippling lag in the arena of your game
