In Hard Mode dungeons there is a VERY small chance for a Octagonal Obsidian to drop. Three of those can be combined to get a Gilded Triangular Obsidian, but across over a hundred Hard Mode runs, I've seen...one. Not great odds.

This is false.

It is currently incredibly easy to get it.

 

Every character that reaches stage 33 in soul boost gets 1 for free.

 

So just keep doing soul boost on every character.

That can be done a maximum of 14 times. 9 is enough to reach Gilded Pentagonal, but progressing any further then that is basically impossible.

If you do the soul boost event on more characters then you will get more of the rewards.

Soul Boost is per character, but keep in mind the gem rewards got moved from Soul Boost Levels 8 and 10 to 33 recently so it will be more challenging to get them. However, outside of that, there's no really 'accessible' way to get the gems which I feel is the point of the thread.

Also, also, soul boost is intended to boost a fresh character, not as means of farming gems (which is why char limit was introduced and gems were moved to higher levels in the first place)

So if we don't count that unintended "method", obsidian income is indeed miserably low

Farming spectral shrine HM will get them .... eventually ... if you like pain
