I decided to come back to the game, well to give it a try at least..

and i wanted to know, how "friendly" it is for new players?

Play it and decide for yourself. The game is a grind game. So do not expect instantly to be at end game with other people that played for years.

that's the only answer you get....no one can decide for you how much time you have to play....if you can invest more than 3-4 hours a day for the game it is decently friendly if not you will be behind unless you spoend money.  Nothing really changed since you left its the same grind for the same gear. its not rocket science.
