does familiar choice matter other than cosmetics does allycat do something a house cat cannot or are all the stats, buffs and powers the same?

Your cat is used mostly for cc. Also can revive dead party memebers instead of you, so you can dps while your cat revive. Or sacrifice your cat to revive everyone. (You need to be dead as well 3= )

The dmg from the cat skills are lame. However it good to "Kapow!" if you have a bd/dest in your party, so your cat wont grab the boss by mistake. Unless the bd/dest are trash that wont grab the boss.

 

Cat appearance makes no difference.

Your choice of cats does not effect their performance and they can be restyled in any major city (iow, a big cat will do the same amount of damage as a small cat).
