How do I form a party with a friend?

We are in the same server, same channel, and we can't see each other or add each other on a friends list. How do I either add someone to my friend's list or add someone to my party? Is it impossible to party up unless you're in a dungeon or something?

F4 or go through the menu bar for "friends" and type in your friend's name.

You should be able to add each other.

 

Also, did you make sure neither you or him accidentally hit Ctr + F?

 

That disables you from seeing anyone.

I tried adding him on my friends list and it didn't work. We made sure not to have Ctrl F hit either. Do I add his username or character name? I tried both and it's still not popping up. Do we have a to reach a certain point in the game?

Maybe your friend doesn't know how to accept friend requests lol. Shows up on bottom right hand corner.

I know I’m over a year late, but it’s highly possible you guys weren’t in the same channel. A friend invited to her party and it asked me if I wanted to join the channel, so I said yes. Otherwise, you can somehow change the channel on the map, but I’m unsure how.

You should be able to type "/join [character name]" in the chat bar...

 

Also, if you can whisper the person, whenever they speak, you can right click their name to bring up a menu of things like "join party", "invite to party" and, of course "request friend" =p
