  1. I'll take rewards over convenience any day. I think NCSoft is the 1st company to successfully manipulate this many people into lowering their expectations so much. Being charged to open "slots" for trove is a joke, that's a pathetic milking tactic and players now look at it as a benefit not having it for these boxes when that should be a neutral standard. But, I'll admit, not being restricted to the 1 day time period to pay for your reward is nice, that makes it feel like I'm actually buying RNG boxes, and not just participating in another limited time trove event. I feel you can only argue these boxes are better IF you were lucky, which simply comes down to RNG. I see it the same as any trove event, the people who got lucky last trove say that was worth it, and the people who got lucky with these Starcaller boxes say this was worth it. I never understood why people call the mats cheap. If you pay 49 HM coin per key, let's be generous and say that's 25 gold each. That means 30 gold for a single Legendary Element/Jewel or if you get somewhat lucky, 7.5 gold for 3 Legendary Elements/Jewels, congrats, you finally saved just under 10 gold. Very few 1 star rewards are actually worth it, the only concern should be how many good crits you can get and at what cost in HM Coin + Gold. Without crits, you're better off selling NCoin, not buying HM Coin and/or saving your HM Coin to buy good F10 specials and selling those, then just buying mats directly.
  2. I've only tried just over 30 boxes, no legendary and no good rare crit, but the few friends I asked all got something good. So., if the odds are better then I won't complain if I just was the unlucky one this time. But, it does feel bad not having the guaranteed crit, or 30 of the regular RNG box currency to at least get something.
  3. Looking at these "RNG Boxes" or trove, is it not just a more money hungry version of trove? Sure, it has aspects of both, but neither of their benefits, no consolation currency you could save up and just buy what you wanted, and no guaranteed crits after around 30 attempts. Of course they depend on luck and are/were worth it for some, but for the average, less fortunate player the traditional RNG boxes were better value in my opinion. This, like trove, just promotes gambling, and before some white knight says "It's your choice to buy those boxes" come on now, we know the point of this RNG design is to manipulate enough people into gambling and spending as much as they can in the hopes of getting the amazing rewards.
  4. It's not fixed. Neither me, nor a few of my friends and clanmates can quickly search for items the normal way we used to(prior to the 4/10 update). Have to use exact search for most items, and items with an apostrophe like Sealed Hive Queen's Husk, cannot be searched for at all unless you filter threw all items.
  5. It's been a full week, we just had maintenance and we still can't search through F5 like normal, seriously?
  6. Excluding any large enough group of players from an event isn't a good idea. But, excluding 85% of the playerbase? And let's be honest, events are usually not for the fun and excitement of having a new dungeon to run everyday for 3-4 weeks even for mid-game players, so of course end-game players will complain about effortlessly carrying through easier content regardless of the reward. Anyway, it does go to show rewards for higher tier players have been lacking, but it's still a much better way to go about implementing events or something rewarding for them than this, which makes many feel left out. Any other MMO rewards people for achieving the top percentile: reached the top 1%, here's your prize, cleared a challenge mode dungeon in WoW, here's a mount and exclusive armor set. But when is it ever, "Here's an event for the top 10% only." Who's really acting entitled? Not to mention, it usually is a performance feat. to earn those things, not a gear one, but ok, let's say there is a gear req. in WoW, since it's the only one I've played and can compare to, it doesn't take hundreds of dollars or the better part of a year to gear up to do something, it takes skill and actual achievable gear for the average person. I've no interest in the wings and as many have said, the TT 1-3 SS are easy to get through other means. What bothers me is the concept of this event, the gap between stage 3/4, and the difference between Burning/Desolate Mausoleum. They are all daily, once a day, except Stage 4. Those who can do stage 4 have a way to non-stop farm the event currency for whatever they want if the time it takes is worth it to them, while the majority of us get daily scraps. When KR got this event, was their average player able to beat it, or no? I heard they didn't even get or need the 1 hour weapon, that was supposed to be a boost for us since we're behind them, which clearly didn't work.
  7. I don't entirely disagree with you here. But there is a difference between BnS and other MMOs that have events or content focused at a certain tier of players only. They don't get news, previews or streams directed at everyone for an entire event meant to help you gear up and get exclusive event rewards, then actually release an event that only the end-game players really can do. If there is a reward for top players in PvP or PvP only, in other MMO's, it's promoted as such and designed where it's a reward for you working your way up or getting through something difficult. This event isn't that, it's a copy of the easy MSP turtle and an old Lv38 dungeon that is only gated behind gear. And again, it wasn't promoted as something for end-game players only. Where I do agree though, there should be better vanity items for players who did achieve that, either through hardcore raiding or spending a ton, and if there is, then it needs a better delivery. Giving it to people who have the best gear for an event that should be accessible by everyone is wrong to most, an event with no criteria should reward better for skill maybe, not just gear unless specified beforehand.
  8. Decided to leave my 2 cents, hopefully someone takes it.
  9. Maybe it was nerfed because the 2 flawed mentalities people seem to walk around with are so black and white. Either unreasonably high requirements or brain dead easy with no inbetween. There are much less complaints when things are actually balanced. I literally said fun/challenging mechanics, and you come right out with this reply? Either way is wrong, an event shouldn't be catered to a fresh 60, they won't be at that newbie state if they actually try and progress, and it should not be catered to only those are TT-ready. It's not so black and white that events should be "easy peasy" or "excessively hard" "this is completely normal, just not normal in this game" I laughed when I read this lol, I think you're the only one off the grip. If something is not normal for a game, then of course there will be controversy, because certain things just don't work the same in every game. You try to bring the normalcy of one game into another and would probably ruin it. And once again, the important argument isn't that a new player should have access to everything, it's a lot of people pissed off because the half of the game in decent VT gear hardly benefit from the event. Heptagonal gems, oils, etc. those are always available, but the exclusive wings or event-accessible TT soul shields are only for the top tier players pretty much. Just as something shouldn't be catered to the 10% of new players who will have already made some progression in a couple weeks to do more challenging things, it shouldn't be catered the top 10% either that majority of the game hasn't or can't reach any time soon.
  10. Does it make you casual? No, it makes you look like someone who likes to make themselves a target or someone with poor reading comprehension if you think what I've said is about you though. My message wasn't directed at all against people like you. It's at the few who say "I don't know how to play my class, and have a Baleful or Riftwalk 3 weapon, so Stage 3 is too hard, make it easier for *casuals* like me to get rewards." Then majority / your average player with decent gear on their mains who actually play and try to progress are unable to do stage 4 because it requires end-game gear that most who actually give a good effort, haven't or can't earn yet. I am against catering to the former, but leaving out all the people who aren't TT ready is just as bad to me. I'm sorry for your condition, but at least you admit there's a "me problem" and your performance falls greatly. So, try to understand that for the vast majority, including a friend I made who was entirely new to the game, stage 1-2 is no challenge, and stage 3, depending on your class may require what most would say is the bare minimum performance capability to complete. Not enough people would want an event, or even half of an event tailored for people who have only been playing a few days to a week and haven't taken the time to finish a few starter quests. I understand you've been playing for years, but the average new player should be able to clear Stage 3 relatively easily. Also, it's not ego, I just wouldn't want game changes made based off the skill level of someone who just finished story, because a week later, they should have progressed greatly. It's more than just time spent, there has to be improvement as well, if something stops your ability to improve/progress, then I'm sorry, but don't ask for the game to be slowed down for that, it's not fair to the 99% who enjoy the game that can. And there are tokens from Stage 1/2.
  11. What's your point? Event is supposed to give easier access, but people with Aransu 6 and VT SS can't do it. They aren't skipping anything. Edit: Just read your other reply Like Cappie said, CoS is doable with lower gear, just a lot harder, you can't just compare that to now. That aside, just because you can accept being excluded, doesn't mean everyone else has to, nor does that make it right. But you do make one good point, our complaints are useless, but whatever, the decreasing playerbase will speak for itself, and the upcoming server merge is a good sign of that.
  12. My 2 cents would be if they really want to make more challenging events, then keep it like Realmrift with preset stats and focus on fun/challenging mechanics.
  13. You should stop using the term "very casual" like you do and called it like it is, a very bad and lazy player who doesn't care enough to put any effort into the game, but still wants something in return for the nothing they contribute. No one in their right mind would cater an event to someone who performs that poorly. Casual just means you don't invest too much time or take the game seriously. If you can't take the time to learn your rotation and at least get a Raven 3 weapon then this game probably isn't for you. It literally takes no more than a week for a "very casual" player playing an hour or two some days to farm some tablets, do a couple dailies to get gold and buy the Raven material they need. Then it's a matter of taking a little time to look up info on your class or trying out simple mode and/or just practicing a bit. Something's wrong if you expect something in return and can't invest even that much into a game you're supposed to be playing to enjoy. If you invest less than that, then honestly, your opinion doesn't matter for the game, and more importantly, neither does your wallet. And what newbie comes into a game expecting to have access to all event prizes with no gear and the skill level of a 4 year old pressing random buttons?
  14. I don't disagree, I am all for more difficult events. However, it would be disastrous if the people making the events shared your level of thinking in what makes an event, or any dungeon/raid, difficult. "Let's make an event that helps players gears up, but can only be done by the top 10% geared players and the other 90% can get the usual scraps they always get" By only doable by the top 10% geared, I don't mean they have to be good, they can be trash-skill level players, as long as they have the top gear, the event will be easy. The challenge is getting the gear lol.
  15. Punishing suggests we did something wrong?
  16. I don't know if you're trolling or just... new to gaming in general and just lack the knowledge. But try to understand this. Content can have complex mechanics that make it challenging, fun and engaging. It's hard because if you do something wrong or don't know your class well, then you're punished for mistakes. But, it's doable with enough patience and practice to develop the skills to beat it. This event is nothing like that, it is simple, the only issue is the high health pool compared to the enrage timer. That is not complex, challenging or engaging, it is not something that you can play better to overcome. It is a pure deadstop because if you lack the gear, you can't do it. You say the people "who want to do everything on every crappy character" do not want to play the actual content, which is wrong. People on their main characters cannot who are trying to progress still can't do the event because it requires very high end-game gear that majority have not reached yet. To say you want more events that only maybe 15% of the player base can do is just.. lol I hope you're trolling and I can say you got me good.
  17. My mistake, I thought it was just given to us once.
  18. How will you beat each day now since the 1hr is a one-time thing?
  19. We could use a small change in how these events work. To make it fair, and enticing for everyone to want to participate, we need a way the events can be challenging at different levels and reward different tier players. This event comes close to doing well, having the easy and hard modes, I love that. But, as many have said, the enrage timers are an issue. It can be fixed easily though, to appease most. The easy+hard more aspect can work well, if the hard mode can be done by mid-tier players. Not asking for it to be easy, just that it has to actually be possible to beat by the average geared person who puts in enough effort. However, to appeal to the higher-end characters I thought of a few options: An extra timed Dynamic Quest where if you fail to complete within the time limit, you don't get the additional currency reward An event item/orb to start a challenge mode An event item/orb to summon an additional, harder boss Basic event currency from the easy mode or easier dungeon. 2nd currency from the harder mode or harder dungeon. And possibly a 3rd item/currency from the challenge version for the higher tier rewards. Lastly, the rewards between mid and higher tier players needs to be enough that each feel it's worth doing, but it shouldn't be more exclusive items that make everyone else feel like they're helplessly missing out. Looking at the current event, I think the main issue is that there is no middleground, everyone except the top 10-15% are stuck with the easy-mode reward because after that, it jumps to a 1.3m dps check. It's clear how many people are unhappy, so maybe take that as a lesson and also keep event-exclusive cosmetics as something available for everyone who participates for 2 weeks. Maybe add the stronger consumable buffs, and occasionally tradeable ones like Chocolate Delights for the higher tier currency. And just my opinion on the rewards, but the basic ones we always get, most of them should be cheaper by now. Not even the Hive Queen Hearts are really worth buying over Sacred Vials and Pet Packs unless you really need them, but it's still a one-sided trade off. ***** Previously, I was just suggesting for this event that they leave mechanics the same or even buff them, but in exchange, nerf the HP significantly so at least mid-tier players who actually can benefit from the event rewards can participate. Depending on how long it takes, to compensate give a couple Resurgence Emblem in F10 each day for a week or two. Also add the event weapon as an illusion sometime, I'd love to have illusions of our progression weapons, and maybe some recolors.
  20. You can at least take the time to read the original post, unless your reading comprehension isn't sufficient enough to understand a simple message. The stream showcases what we can get, but did not indicate that there would be such high gear/dps requirements to clear the dungeons to get everything. The free 1 hour weapon, for one is not enough time to get anything done, and two, the weapon alone does not give you 1.3m dps. The damage requirement for the event should not be so high, instead the mechanics should just be fun and challenging, punishing you for mistakes, but doable. Aside from Alpha Agent, the items you can get from doing stage 1-3 and the easier dungeon can hardly be called event rewards, those are the standard, typical currency exchanges we always have access to. The better rewards exclusively for Resurgence Emblems, and gated behind a dps requirement that majority of the playerbase, no matter how skilled, cannot meet. The ones who can clear this definitely don't need the rewards as much as those who can't. That's exactly what it makes it. It's exclusive to those with TT gear and an expensive soul, since that is pretty much the requirement to deal enough damage. Anyone who hasn't been playing long or paid enough to have progressed enough to do 1.3m sustained dps is excluded from the event unless they have geared friends/clannies or can find a group nice enough to carry them through the 2nd dungeon. So all those without the high end-game raid gear... their gear is now considered trash level? Just looking at the rewards, I'd assume this event is to help players get the 3 piece TT set and give easier access to scales and steel to help upgrade, but instead, it requires that you already have access to those things.
  21. I'm not even close to 1.4m dps even with the event weapon, maybe 800k at the most if play perfectly. So, I guess I'm unable to participate in the actual event-dungeons that give Resurgent Emblems. Oh well, I won't complain, at least the other Mausoleum is doable for the typical non-event rewards that we always have access to.
  22. So the free 1 hour weapon is nice... I guess, but if your goal is to get something that costs Resurgence Emblems is it worth buying the 7 day? I love a good challenge, like punishing mechanics if you don't do something correctly, but the Resurgence Emblems are locked behind the Stage 4 Longui that is easy, but requires 1.2m dps. Then Idk what the Burning Mausoleum gives, but if you have to spend 7 emblems to get the 1 day to beat that, how can we get Resurgence Emblems to buy the GC SS? Or do you already have to have GC gear to get that?
  23. My friend told me to spec Asteroid, Shadow Grasp and Fire Dance which helped me a lot. Shadow Grasp works well for deflect classes you can't start with a stun, like BD/Destroyer, and I'd just Asteroid after making airborne with Fire Dance for big damage + Daze. But still I can't get up to F80.. but then again I'm only Raven 3 on my FM.
  24. By the way, you say nothing's really changed. Last patch, I was able to land my CC's, but now half the melee react and backstep even at minimum range to evade. They even attack inbetween hits for Destroyer's spin, you're full of something, and it isn't the truth if you're telling me it's the same as before.
  25. I see, that explains a bit, my last reply to Grim on another thread got me banned for a day. Anyway enough of that insignificant rubbish, thanks for the tip as FM, that actually helps. Going against BD was very frustrating since I'd just get stunned without a cd on the deflect, and WL just perma blocks lol. I'll change up my approach with FM for classes like that. I haven't touched F90 yet, I've cleared up to like 70+ on a couple toons, but after that it's a new game lol.
