Q: Weapon Skill effect

So I know this seems a little pedantic, but I'm actually really curious about this, and I couldn't find a good answer anywhere.

Does anyone know if flying nettles and briar patch are actually considered different skills for purposes of the bonus damage off your weapon pre-legendary?

on my understanding it's the same... the other one is for target and the other one is cast around you when your invi...

To my memory it should be the same.
It's possible to check in-game, on the bottom of the skill tree you will get a little line about which skill boosting effects you have. I can't check it on my summoner as my weapon don't boost Briar Patch, but if someone who do could chime in and confirm it that'd be great :D

Its the same skill, if you hover your mouse over both skills you see on the bottom of the tip window that the weapon effect is active on that specific skill.
