Prestige points

Can someone explain me where can  I exchange prestige points and what are they used for ?

Just hoped into open pvp areas but I cant figure out what can I do with prestige points I earn . Tried googling but still dont have the answer .

You get prestige points by killing opposing faction npc (with the number on their head) and dragon/ogre bosses. You can also steal prestige points by killing players that have them. You can trade prestige points by talking to your faction prestige points npc (near the tent). They are used for leveling up your faction rank, getting achievements, and buying some OP gears (check the faction npc).

To add to what was said above, if you remove your costume while you have prestige on you'll lose it, also they scale depending on how many you have if you have 1-10 then they're worth 1 rank point each, if you have 11-30 then they're worth 2 rank points each, if you're adventurous enough to hold on to at least 31 of em before turn in they'll be 3 points each. Remember that the more points you have the bigger the target on your head will be, anyone can kill you and steal em.
