Unusable items? Sell or Salvage

Is it better to vendor items that I can't use, or salvage them?  I have more than enough to be upgrade my gear.

So far, that I've seen, all items you're referring to would vendor for 1 copper each.

If you Salvage the items instead you have a chance of getting a useful crafting/transmuting material and should you NOT manage to get the material you still get a grey item that is worth 1 copper to sell to a merchant.

If your'e into achievements there are also achievements for salvaging (over and over and over...).

 

So (though I haven't reached max level yet so I won't say I'm 100% certain), it seems like you'd lose NOTHING by Salvaging every time.

 personally i been vendoring stuff that is worth like 4 + copper and salvaging everything below, as the powder is very useful too, more so at higher lvl, i notice quite a few blue drops can be worth like 10+ copper, so i guess they are more worth selling than breaking

 

 That said, alot of the useless epic weapon drops you get at lvl 45 can break down into a very useful transmute item, so it all depends what return you want the most, money or useful material
