Not taking dragon coils?

Does not taking dragon coils in blue moonwater dungeons has any affect on loot? I've encountered yet another person calling me stupid for using it. I really have no idea why, and I can't find any information about it.

Just someone saying that his party did not take them for a few runs and they saw more drops, and now a lot of people think it's true.

I am sceptical about it too. I heard old players (from Asia region) claim that dragon blood reduces lootchances, however I got multiple potters recipes with it and I see no difference not taking it (now I never do it, since I never die to the dungeons I solo anyways)
