What are the Orbs for?

New to the game / new to Force Master (FM).  I see that when upgrading certain powers, there may be an option to "Create 1 Flame Orb on Critical Hit" (or Frost Orb).  What are these orbs used for?  I gather there is a maximum of three (3), as I see them "orbiting" my character.

 

I did a search for "orb" and got nothing, then searched for "flame orb" and the forum website seemed to be stalled.  Apologies if this has been asked numerous times.

If you have 3 of fire you can use dragonblaze, which gives you a fire dmg buff, same goes for 3 frost orbs and frost dmg. If you have 3 of both, you can use Dual Dragons which is an instant nuke for high dmg.

You don't have the skills that consume orbs early on.  Dual Dragons is at level 45, IIRC, but I think you get Dragonblaze earlier.  They're pretty important later on.

Orbs are created by certain skills (Usually Fire / Ice F). They are a secondary resource for FM, used for high damaging skills at level 45.

 

IF you get hit with orbs up:

Fire orbs - Reflects 3% damage per orb + stacks 1 ember

Frost orbs - Recovers 2 focus and stacks 1 chill 

 

Note that getting hit also depletes orbs.
