Weapon skins

So been curious, if I bought a weapon skin from the cash shop and let's say I evolved my Hongmoon weapon, does the skin still stay or does the actual skin of the weapon override it?

Was going to test it out but didn't want to waste any money or the weapon skin I got from Founder's pack.

No idea, but you can skin your hongmoon with some "regular" weapons, I believe, so if you're about to break your hongmoon past a point where it's appearance changes, you could always use a regular weapon "skin" as a test.
