Are you sure? Wed - Fri the moment i login i get spammed full with dozens weekly groups recruiting in faction chat (ofc if someone waits till the last 2 days to do them he will have mroe trouble finding parties as players do these as soon as they can).

As for Dailies.....so far each time i go in F8 its a matter of a few seconds and there is a group. So i dont think the game is "dying" but i do think most players are taking a break until new content comes out and the new class.

It could be that I was just on at a bad time for the server, and when I look back on what I said, I noted how people could go offline once dailies/weeklies are finished, so they don't get on for the rest of the day.

Player base population is not close to what it was about a year ago, and it isn't doing so good right now, but I can see how this game isn't "immediately dying." However, it's slowly dying, which is a better way to put it.

I was hoping to get at least a 15min livestream from next event only to show rewards list, daily/weekly challenge, but nothing until now. Hope they will made on moonday or tuesday maybe. but i think we will not get livestream this time.

Honestly, NCWest should be doing livestreams more often to keep the only Blade & Soul audience they have left engaged. It's sad that they rarely occur.

And even then, the efforts are way to scattered. There are enough threads that exclaim that the game is dying without constructive feedback, yet if you wanna join them at least use the search function to find such threads.

I wasn't trying to join the group of people that make stupid comments when I made the statements above. I know there are dozens of threads like these; it's the whole reason I asked the rhetorical question as to how many more people are going to continue making such threads.

This thread alone isn't constructive to begin with. Saying a game is dying without any data or concrete proof to back it up is like trying to convince people that something exists without showing them, or them seeing it themselves. I'm pretty sure we're all capable of understanding that we shouldn't immediately give into an argument unless there's proof to back it up, otherwise we're very foolish people.

I know the game is dying because I've played it for a long time, I've seen the player counts drop over time both on these forums and in-game, and I looked at charts and data to prove it. But if I was someone who heard about the game, but never played it, I wouldn't easily give in to the "game is dying" argument. People need to see something to believe it; that's how I know how bad the game is doing.

I guess the main problem is that when one person says something, everyone automatically believes it without fail.

Yeah guess your rigth, game must be booming like hell...

That's not what I meant when I made the statements above. I wasn't supporting the game and defending it, being in denial and saying it's still "alive." I know it isn't doing good with its player count considering wait times for doing dailies/weeklies are still very long, and I don't see many players actively supporting it outside of the game itself.

When I said players should at least come with proof, I meant that if players exclaimed why the game was dying and had something to show for it, it would've made their case more reinforced and constructed. Not that I don't believe them, but if I was a developer who rarely played the game and saw this, I would want proof or some form of data because otherwise, it's something I wouldn't say is logically plausible or worth a look at.

  5. This event was cool and all, but felt recycled. Fighting Hae Mujin in swimming trunks was no different than fighting the Sacred Longgui with evolving purple horns, where every round you go up, they get a huge health boost.

Rewards for this event were definitely better than the Sacred Longgui event months ago, as late-game players can make use out of the resources they could buy, but the 5 oil limit, that's something I disagree with. Considering most high-gear item upgrades cost around 7-15 oil, why make an event that lasts 2-3 weeks long have a 5 oil per week limit? The design is intentionally trying to convince people to buy NCoin to P2W their way to victory, and this game is P2W already. It's not as P2W as it was about a year ago, but it's P2W enough.

We need variety; this is just another Sacred Longgui event bottled up and labeled differently.

I agree with you shadow but I think this being mailable is more likely of a change although I much prefer yours never thought of it

It is, and something like this should be available for all costumes, even the ones from other Dungeons, not just the [Hongmoon Duster]. If the developers decide to make this change, they're going to make a lot of players satisfied, especially those who are real Fashion Hunters.

  7. How many times have people come on the forums to say this game is dying? This is like the 4th or 5th person so far, maybe more?

I'm not here to defend the game nor White Knight it, as I also know the game's going downhill, but it's been made clear already that with all this ranting and complaining, little is changed or improved. Besides, all of this continues boiling down to us blaming NCWest for everything, when they have little control over what they can/ can't do.

NCSOFT made the game, they are the rightful owner of the game, therefore they make the decisions, not NCWest. NCWest and Team Bloodlust are NCSOFT subsidiary publisher and developers, respectively. So think of it this way: NCWest is under the gun with what they can/ can't do. No matter how much we want things changed/ improved, that won't happen because they just can't do it. They aren't allowed to do anything on their own to begin with, other than what they're told to do.

If users are going to keep coming on to these forums, let alone the r/bladeandsoul Reddit to keep exclaiming how much this game is dying, at least come with proof, otherwise, it's a waste of time.

When NC-Soft would decide to stop publishing BnS, the Devs are screwed, i dont think they have the ressources to publish the game by themself. This would mean they either find a new publisher who would take over BnS or they are done.

It's likely they don't have many resources because if they did, they would have seceded from NCSOFT to establish a new game industry under a new name. Let's say that this scenario was true: even if NCWest decided to become an independent game developer and publisher, they would not have the rights to Blade & Soul because the game was developed by NCSOFT first, and they have proprietary ownership over it. They would have to make new games that are not under NCSOFT to sustain themselves, and if they made some BnS knock-off, NCSOFT would attempt to take ownership of it.

The game industry has become more cutthroat and cruel over the years, and it's turned the focus for games from having lots of fun to making lots of money.

  9. Not gonna lie, having recycled events is a sign that the game is going downhill, and I've been playing this game ever since it came out in the United States back in 2016-2017. The game today is worse than it was about a year ago. Why is this even happening? Who is making these decisions? I wouldn't say it's depressing, but as a game consumer, this is very disappointing, especially since this game is actually fun to play for an MMO.

With the sheer amount of texts to translate etc, its only normal some bugs slip in, no one is perfect and its not like translations can break a game or make it unplayable.

Maybe so, but when you sell a game to a consumer in a language they can't read, that's paying poor attention to consumer satisfaction.

This game wasn't made for the developer; it was made by developers to be sold and branded on the market under a specific name/label, and with today's gaming consumer market, even the smallest of flaws by a huge game industry like NCSOFT will not be overlooked. It's been made clear by people both on the forums and social media that they will not tolerate what's happening to the game anymore, and they demand fixes and changes to make the game more enjoyable and less of a mess. Either they get them, or they leave and move on to another game; it's as simple as that. If NCSOFT doesn't want to permanently lose potential consumers, they need to step it up.

I know we have Blade & Soul Gamepedia

However, we also have a Fandom one, and Fandom wikis are used more often than Gamepedia wikis: people recognize the former more than the latter and find it easier to use and navigate. I could work on both simultaneously, but again, I'm asking if the Fandom can be revived because it could help potential new players navigate the game. This of course is me also asking if the Gamepedia be revived as well because it holds a lot of content and information already.

  12. One thing this game lacks is a well-written wiki to help players navigate their way through the game. I know we have Blade & Soul Gamepedia, but I wanted to help revive the Wiki Fandom version because that's more widely-used and known internationally.

The current wiki we have for Fandom is here: https://blade-and-soul.fandom.com/wiki/Blade_and_Soul_Wiki. I'm not sure who set it up, but I want to help add plenty of missing information to it, as well as contribute to making it as full as possible. If there is any Admin for this wiki page, I would kindly ask if I could become an Admin so I can do more heavy-lifting. I'm already starting to fill in some blanks, but will be unable to organize everything with my current perms.

Everyone else is welcome to contribute as well. Having a strong wiki would help attract new players to the game and guide them so they don't feel lost. This guide by @Freya Ryye, which can be found here:

is a fantastic start, and if one player can make this very comprehensive guide for getting started as a beginner, making a wiki is possible.

    What do you guys think?

95% of the players who enter only make dailys
98% of people who finished a full pj got bored of the game.
I think that 1% of all players must be full
97% of people who played daily got bored of putting the code
99% of people who tried this game left it for the above reasons
the game at this time is dead ....

The fact that you're using percentages above the 90 percentile mark shows that these statistics are based off of nothing but opinion. You don't know for sure that these are the player percentages doing these things every day, and having no data to back this up shows this is a clear troll-post.

I haven't played this game in a while but I agree, one thing I really think they should do is bring the game to steam but only when and if ue4 comes (hopefully optimization is better). I have friends that simply won't touch the game because it isn't on steam so I know many other people are the same way.

The problems bringing Blade & Soul to Steam are getting people to actually play the game, with many knowing how Pay-to-Win it is, and NCSOFT being willing to pay a fee to have their game on Steam.

    Making it Available

    Spoiler

Making the game available on Steam will certainly increase the player count by adding a new client to play on, but with the current reputation that this game holds, it might backfire and make more people dislike the game. The fact that it's a huge Pay-to-Win grind is discouragement to even try the game, and Steam users can be some of the most picky game consumers in the world when it comes to what they want/ not want to play. Additionally, with more people on social media continuing to harass and bully Blade & Soul, Steam will serve no more than another, stronger platform to hurt the game as much as they want with its horrible review system.

Adding Blade & Soul on Steam sounds like a great idea, but where its reputation currently stands, this decision could be catastrophic.

    NCSOFT Paying the Fee

    Spoiler

Publishers and developers who decide to add their games on Steam have to pay 100 USD, which isn't so bad because it's recoupable. However, the lot of us knowing how greedy NCSOFT can be, they might see that as something not worth investing into because they have their own client for the game, which is free. There might be other fees I'm not aware of, but this is the most that I know.

  15. The game was originally written and scripted in the Korean language, therefore that's the official language that works best for the game, and it shows from the videos recorded on the official KR client. This is the first time I've seen an MMO who's translation scripts are creating framerate and lag problems than the high-particle and graphically-complex animations themselves, which begs the questions, "Is anything really being done about this?"

People leave the game not only because it's Pay-to-Win, but because they can't play it. You can't play a game, you quit. More complaints about optimization continue popping up on the forums and social media, but no one's addressing them, and the Roots of Malice update seemed to "address" them, but didn't, because my own client is still having 5-10 FPS just being in a dungeon; not even in a raid!

It's sad NCSOFT only focuses on their KR customers, but that's expected, after all, they are a South Korean game industry, not a North American one.

And that´s competition. Bns barely faced competition with their game, even if their players count dropped it didn´t affect their initial sales.

It sounds like poor decision-making on their part. When Blade & Soul finally launched in the United States after years of anticipation, its servers were so overpopulated that people had to wait in queues to play. Something like that doesn't happen for every MMO that kicks off, especially one that's coming from another country. It was poor planning, poor changes being made to the game, and focusing on the wrong things at the wrong time that led the game to end up where it is now.

People ask for UE4; we're given an unsatisfying date for its release. People report bugs and issues; they don't get fixed. Many others continue hating on the game partly from misunderstandings; NCWest doesn't do anything to correct or address them. It sounds like it all boils down to NCWest not doing much to fix these problems, but it's also because of NCSOFT refusing to do much about it.

The lot of us continue feeling like we're not part of this community, even though we are, and that's because there's stubbornness among executive employees refusing to see the bigger picture. We feel that they're ignoring us, and we're probably right based on the current situation. The game is not in a good position right now, and both publisher and developer are to blame.

Those that will spend the most are still the big whales that wanna gear their new alts.

Yeah, pretty much. The game's Pay-to-Win, so there's no denying that. If NCSOFT makes money, they're happy, no matter how anti-consumer their policies are and how much we suffer in the end.

But a simple avatar gallery could and imho should have been implemented years ago at this point, I don't get why it hasn't happened yet? Just start with the class symbols so people can pick their main class as forum avatar, that can't be too much work and would be a great start. The fact that the BnS reddit has this but not the official forums... C'mon step it up already, this could only help with keeping people invested in the forums, community and game and that's what we all want? Right?

Something like this is doable and acts as a good control for what avatars people use. TERA's forums do this, why can't Blade & Soul's forums do the same?
