A Funny thing happened on the way to the Hongmoon Temple....

...So, this slot is for oddities that have happened while playing Blade & Soul...

...I was in a party playing in the Iron Monkey Dungeon...(Meeting the Mechanizer, we always called the first Boss the Iron Monkey), and , after a successful final battle, all the party blipped out except for myself and one other player. We started talking about this and that, and as we did, she changed her costume... and then did it again.. and again... I was a beginner back then and had only a handful of outfits, and had not seen so many before... she continued her fashion show as we chatted. She must have had over 40 outfits, and I commented on and appraised them all... Went on for about 30 minutes...

..It was a completely different experience from the normal dungeon events I had previously, and was fun... Never saw her again after that, and while I cannot recall her name, I have  never forgotten the experience, and how much fun we had....

...Another time, was with a party in the Drowning Deeps... The Demon Slayer outfit showed up, and I got into a bidding war with another party member over it... I bid all my gold, over 300, but still lost the bid... sigh... was disappointed for certain...

...Went in with another party the very next night, and got it for the minimum bid... 🙂

...If you've played Chaos Supply Chain before, then you have seen Poharan's sister appear during the battle, defending her sister briefly and then disappearing to come back once more at battle's end... she says a few harsh words, threatening whoever was responsible, and then disappears...

...Always thought it odd that first, she does not attack me again after what I have done, for I am, after all, still there and ignoring me under the circumstances doesn't at all seem pirate-like, (Blood, Gold and Vengeance...) and then that it was cold of her to leave her sister there, writhing in pain on the ground...

...Since I, er, my character that is, has always had the hots for Poharan.. Hot pirate princess with attitude and a big machine gun... yum... er, anyways, I always feel kinda bad about defeating her over and over, and, unlike her callous sister, I've begun to  stick around for a bit and "soothe" her before I go... Its a bit quirky of me, but, after all, Master Hong once told me that, "If the world around you is not real, then maybe you aren't either..."

...Chaos Supply Chain again... This has happened to me a couple of times now, including today, while fighting the pirates in the intro area.... I have jumped backwards to knock them down and make the cannons miss, and instead ended up going THROUGH the bars of the tiger cage and found myself inside the cage with the two tigers!!! Good thing that they either like Kat Girls or are not programmed for battle, as they ignore me...Photo Opp!! Always takes me a minute or two to figure out the right area to jump backwards at and escape from the cage... Really freaked me out the first time it happened... 😄

..One of my fav things to do in the game is glide... A good one is to go to the valley where the Cave of Darkness is located... Instead of jumping right off the cliff, go to the hut next to the big tree, jump onto the hut, then onto the big tree branch on it... Run along the branch and jump off of its end... This is one of the longest glides I have found in the game.. If you do it right, you'll end up in the bottom of the narrow canyon, almost within spitting distance of the Cave of Darkness... good glide :)...

..Being a Kat, I naturally enjoy a good climb, and glide.. If you like stuff like that, try this one: Go to the Crescent Springs area... (I always stop for a refreshing swim in the spring itself)... Anyway, the big rock to the west is a fun climb... Although the pathway up has changed, for some reason, it is still climbable... Once at the top, jump up to the top of the floating rock to the east... From there, you can get some fun glides- just to outside the flags at the entrance to the Mirage for instance, but, the most fun one is, once in the air, head towards the temple.... The small pedestals that you place the red or blue lamp in will be clearly visible from this altitude.... Once positioned over one, plunge down at breakneck speed, and, if you timed it right, you'll land right on top of the chosen pedestal... Ok, I am easily amused...

...I was on one night, when I noticed a young Kat girl skipping about happily... I asked her how she did that move, and with a few adjustments on my keyboard, soon joined her in the fun... She became my little sister, and we goofed around a lot after that...

...In the Croxar Camp in the Celestial Basin, we would play tag and hide and go seek in the tall trees, so, while everyone else was busy killing monsters, we were laughing and giggling high above them, just two Kats playing around....

...I feel that just having fun is as much the Hongmoon Way as monster hunting and leveling up, and that Master Hong would have approved of our fun....

...She left the game one night, and I will always miss her...

...Thank you for that... Well, I had intended this as a place for anyone to tell their Hongmoon Tales, but it sort of turned out different, just like life, just like this game...heh...

...By the by, my Little Sister and I also  played "Follow the Leader" as well, climbing up trees and rocks, temples and the like, and gliding , then running up whatever tree or rock etc we landed on, and chasing after each other all over the Croxar Camp area... All the while dodging monsters and other players, and giggling madly... I'd like to think that Master Hong was smiling as well...

...So, the other night I got home from my first full day back at work after the flu had me down for 5 days, and, although veeerry tired, decided to do a bit of Dark Weald...

....I had over an hour and a half of time left, and things were going well, the monsters fled before me( :D)... Next thing I knew, I was waking up, and the screen was oddly dark.. I had been so tired I had conked out in the Dark Weald.... I jumped to my "home" area of Mushin's Tower, and the screen was still darkish... Sleepy tired,  I shut down and went to sleep...

...Next morning, I booted up and logged on to BNS and found that my character was dead as a doornail.. Turns out I had been soooo tired that I had actually fallen asleep right in the middle of a battle in the Dark Weald!! 😄  Naturally the monsters showed pity and tucked me in for the night... Ok, they took advantage and proceed to pounded my sleeping self  into snail snot... and as a result I died in my sleep!!! Not only that but I had lost my remaining time in there as I lay dead for about an hour... hahhaha.... That was soooo dumby....

...Every now and then, I get the urge to try something really stupid, like attempting to solo a dungeon I could never do before... I had tried to solo the Ebondrake once before, but could not get passed the 1st big Boss after the initial Pit and hallway area... Since I was now a couple of levels higher, I decided on a whim, to try it again today... Much to my surprise I somehow managed to successfully solo it, although I worked up a sweat to do so... just getting passed the "Dancer"(we all danced to her tune a lot) was fun enough, then, finally, beating the Ebondrake... and it made me feel good to help out Soha. I always gave her a hug after the battle, she was so sad...Its one thing to do so with a party, but, it had a lot more meaning to do so by myself... Rest easy, Soha's father...

...A while ago I was getting ready to do Heaven's Mandate, when I noticed a quite preppy looking female Hongmoon warrior nearby. She had a cute ponytail and brownish hair... I admired her clean look for a few moments, and then entered the dungeon waiting room to search for a party for HM... After a few moments, who should show up but the same HM warrior! We entered the dungeon, and I noticed and odd bluish light above the entry where you use your orb, and entry was not possible as, I had forgotten to bring any orbs along! Duuuh.... I asked her, but, she, too, had no orbs,,, 😄 A quick trip outside and a return to the staging area and we got in and finished HM at last... That was sooooo stoopy embarrassing!!!

...I've noted a strange pattern of generous options to advance in experience and equipment lately..... Hmmmm, highly suspicious... Between new gear itself and the leveling up in the Dark Weald, its got me a bit concerned for what is to come... So, I'm doing what I can to take advantage of the situation... Other "Last" Hongmoon Warriors are doing the same, and all must act as they see fit, for their own reasons and situation... But, with the Biggest social event of the season coming up in the form of the twin coronation, its all got my whiskers are twitching...

...It started happening a few months ago... I would appear from nowhere as usual, and then... I saw them.. I call them "The Grays".... Stiff, rough featured, gray, no other color... There would be one or two at first, then, a dozen as time went on... They glided across the ground or floors, arms stiff by their sides...

....Then, after a while, they animated, gained colors, features, weapons, faces... It was almost frightening to watch unfold...

...Then, after months of this, it happened... I awoke one day... And... I was a Gray....

...I wish Master Hong was around to help me understand all of this...

...I have been experimenting with Auto Combat for a while now, and, I must say, for one thing,it is misnamed.... It should be called "Auto Attack", or even "Auto Berserker"as, it only attacks and does naught else as a priority...

...For instance, it pays no attention whatsoever to avoiding any kind of attack in return...

...Seeks to attack only one target at a time... but "Splash" can activate nearby monsters, which it ignores...

...Will stay in one position and not attack a target out of its detector range...

...Can, and mist certainly does, cause a character to die and not attempt to avoid death or heal any injury...

...After having my gunner die twice while on  auto  combat, while I was off screen, I stayed onscreen and observed the while matter for a while, and watched as my character was twice swarmed by monsters and died, This can be a tremendous waste to hourglasses and regular dungeon time in the Darkweild, as, a dead character stays in the dungeon and uses up time doing so... Not even a funeral or any kind words... tsk...

.. Now, a compromise of sorts is possible, and I am sure many do it this way...Call up Auto Combat, and use it, but stay active and make it work for, and not against you, a supplement, as it were...That was gain the benefits, without most of the detriments... Be careful though, as it will stubbornly attempt to do as it will anyway.... For instance,if slow to act, my gunner shot where the AC wished, once leading to a cool "Over the head" shot, backwards... But, rarely will this benefit a RT...

...So, use it with care and do not trust it to be nice to you or your precious character... I post this for those who are unaware of these facts, and not for those who are, just as a courtesy.... I rather hated it when it happened to my character, and, I figure it might well have happened, or will happen to another HongMoon warrior....

...I was browsing through one of the bookshelves in Master Hong's Office one day after playing with the puppy, when I spotted a tattered old journal.... Turns out it was Master Hong's diary when he was a young disciple in another temple, and although much of it was smudged, I found out he had some interesting hobbies... Turns out, he liked to explore and climb pillars and buildings too!

...One entry read:

..."It is possible to climb to the top of the Royal Chambers... It took me weeks to figure out the right path... Since I had to earn my way to the top, I will not record exactly how to attain this height, but leave the following clues:

..."One might find oneself climbing the walls in frustration, or, one might even have to go out on a limb to figure it out..."

...

...Another entry appeared to read" "Some idiot put grease all up and down the triangle's surface,so I had to find a new path up..."

...

...Once at the pinnacle, the view is amazing, and the photo-ops with  the misty snow capped peaks is worth the effort...

...

...There was also a mostly unreadable entry below this, of which I could only make out "Window" and "Ladies: clearly...

...It was long ago as things pass here, and I was with a party, and we were doing the Warped Citadel.. We had successfully beaten the 1st boss, Kangrim, and went up the stairs and past the entry shield/door.. now I always liked to glide down the long stairway there, and did so, when I suddenly lost the ability to glide at all, teetering on the edge of the expanse.... Another player fell to the bottom, and had no way out, no way to move forward.... He opted to exit the dungeon...After a bit of failed attempts to glide at all, I went back UP the stairs and excited that area through the shield/door... Then reentered the shield/door, and my ability to glide was restored!.. I caught up with the party and finished the dungeon...

...I went back solo some time later and just explored that space, finding where I could glide and climb, and was surprised at the number of interesting places I could get to, and, eventually was able to solo the dungeon as well... Just a curious Kat...
