upgrade path explaination please?

I'm a level 50 HM 4 and have been merrily stumbling along upgrading weapons and accessories as I find the called for parts.

 

Currently have an Stage 10 Oathbreaker Bangle and apparently made a choice somewhere NOT to go the pirate path - but I'm clueless when that happened. 

 

Turning to my accessories I have:

 

Awakened Siren Necklace stage 5.  Is it too late go Oathbreaker or will that come later?  I don't particularly like PVP and this requires a faction item to sacrifice.

Awakened Infernal Earrings stage 10.  Siren appears to be the next upgrade, so when does Oathbreaker step in?

Awakened Siren Ring stage 10.  True Siren Ring appears to be the next upgrade.

Siren Belt stage 10, with Awakened Siren Belt coming up.

Pirate Bracelet stage 10, with awakened Oathbreaker bracelet coming up,

 

Was there actually a CHOICE I made that put me on a path, or was is simply whatever level the old equipment was at?

 

Would it be faster to go back and buy new Profanes and walk down the Oathbreaker path directly?

 

Really confused and stumbling in the dark here.

Accessories doesn't have split path like weapon, it goes onward; Awakened Siren>True Siren>Awakened Oathbreaker.

 

Nothing is missed.
