Default loot option: FFA?

Maybe it's just me, but why is the default option the 2nd worst of the available three? (Free for all)

Shouldn't round robin (or random) be the default, or are the devs trying to screw over the ranged folks by making it free for all? (thus pretty much ensuring the melee folks get the goods).  90% of leaders aren't going to be changing that option.

 

Yeah, I realize this only affects the stuff that doesn't get bid on, but still.  That stuff is useful.
