Crosslex
Alright so whats really wierd is that i am having a lot of times big lages. I live close to the german border and i do have good internet. Never had any ping problems in any game so far. While trying to find out my Ping through ressource monitor, i get pings from 31-229 -->so which one is the right one? When i am testing my ping with bns ping tool, the program is pinging the following server for eu usage: 206.127.148.171 I even dont have that one on my list :S. The lowest Ping i get from 206.127.154.15 Im playing on Wild Spring - so is the last id i posted the one from Wild Springs and my Ping is about 30 or closer to the ones at 200? cheers
kuro1n
One of them is a NA server for some shit. The interesting part is when you enter the arena lobby (or dungeon?), do that and check out your ping now. I would also like to know which of the other ones is the actual game-server or which handles what.
Crosslex
Well after starting the fight, there were added two more ips with an average of 120 ping. I guess WildSpring is the one from NA? From where do you know that there is only one that is located in the us?
kuro1n
Well according to NCSoft the EU servers are based in EU, I do not really know if I can believe them though since the ping goes x3 for me. If they are actually in EU then they are doing something *cricket*ed up behind the scenes we do not know about.
Crosslex
Alright i just realised that once you enter the Arena, you ping a different Server with the last NR. 2. I have Ping Jumps from 30-250 in the middle of the Arena -->That is a joke. Can you plz fix this issue or at least let us know whats going on there? Playing a kfm with this ping is definately not playable and it would be shame to playing a really good game, just because of an issue like that... bandsnewbie
If you know the server IP for all the servers you are trying to check then do this if you havent already tried it: 1) START > CMD > enter (a DOS prompt window will come up) 2) TRACERT xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx All of the xxx.xxx is the IP address for each of the servers. This will tell you the route that the data takes from your house all the way to the game server. It will tell you the ms at each hop, it tells you who owns that hop, and you can see if it times out at a certain hop. If you are using an in game lag indicator right now try out the steps that i mentioned because it will be more accurate...or at least better for seeing if you have any issues anywhere. EDIT: here is what a tracert report looks like. Now keep in mind that I am in the US, West Coast in California so i'm pinging an EU server which is why my MS shoots up to 180 at the end. I also did a tracert for the second ip that the op provided just for comparison. If you want to post your own tracert in this thread once the trace is complete then right click anywhere in the DOS prompt window and hit "select all" and CTRL+C or hit Enter to copy the info. bandsnewbie
@ OP if you do the same thing from your location if that first server IP also shows hops going through Telia.net then that might explain why you get bad lag from that server ip. I did some checking and it looks like Telia.net is located in Sweden. If your tracert also shows Telia.net, which i think it should, for that first server IP then that would mean that your data is going from your house right on the border in Germany to Sweden where the server is hosted. But with the second IP the server is located in Frankfurt which would explain your lag to each of those servers.
