PSA: How to properly report a Gold Spammer / Bot

The NA devs gave us a very easy reporting tool, make use of it.

 

On CN, we have to video it. On TW, we have to go to their website and submit a web form. We couldn't have it easier. It won't take more then 5 seconds out of your play time.

It is true that we have an easier way of reporting. They basically shifted the burden of catching bots from the player side to the staff side. We can report, but by the time the GMs get around to observing the reported, they might not be on or might not be botting anymore.

 

I think it will end up with the same bot ban frequency though. Having to video it ourselves makes it time consuming and many players are not willing to do that. With our report system, there is a delay between report and action, not to mention a heck of lot more names to sift through.

While this is true, it is still better to do it then not. Devs gave us the tool, players have no right to b*tch and moan on the forum if they do not use the tools given. If the tool doesn't work, we can then ask for a better tool.

 

Besides, the game tracks everything you do, it is all logged. How else are the GMs able to replace lost items due to server crashes/discos if nothing is logged?

I totally agree. I've been reporting bots left and right. Just pointing out the pros and cons of the two different systems of bot catching.
