New player with upgrade question

Ok so i'm level 10 now. I upgraded my second weapon to max. Its purple now. So how long is this good for? Do i have to keep upgrading it? To get past break threw i need to spin the wheel of fate until i get a certain item? I have spun this wheel at least 20 times now and no luck. I also have 7 class weapons crates but no key to open them. Where do i get keys. And how long do i have to keep going through this? How good are the upgrades? Want to play the game and not having to keep doing this over and over would be good.

this weapon will follow you all the way to 45 -50

 

this is the living weapon system. Accessories will also be the same and will continue to follow your level/upgrade/evolve 

 

so keep upgrading it and it will help you become stronger :)
