How to fight 1v1?

Hi, I'm new to this game. I want to know how to do a friendly fight with a friend. I tried pressing F9 but it does not work. Do we have to join different factions?

u both go to the arena lobby, then in the bottom left u press the spar button and type their name in

 

or when u r both in the arena lobby, whisper them then right click their name and press spar

Where can I find this arena? As I said F9 does not work.
