What happens to awakened pirate weapon after Jun 1st?

I currently have awakened pirate and I understand that siren and pirate will be removed on June 1st. I searched through the forums in order to figure out if I'm safe from my weapon path changing but I can't find a clear answer. One thread I saw said that awakened pirate will be changed/won't be able to upgrade to true pirate. A second thread I saw said that awakened pirate would not change and could still be upgraded to true pirate. Am I safe or not? I don't know if I can get enough of the pirate medallions in time to buy the pirate bangle from the exchange. Oh crap. Wait. Will the Pirate weapon be removed from the exchange on Jun 1st too??

The second thread you looked at is true, and the first was probably just some misunderstood thread. You'll continue your path but will no longer have a choice between paths anymore.

At around 11:20ish they explain how the paths will be implemented on Jun 1st, you'll still be able to farm materials and won't hit a dead end with your current weapon.
