Element craft

I am currently upgrading my hongmoon dagger to to the max.. however i have reached a level where its pretty hard to upgrade with normal weapons as it is very expensive and it doesn't give that much exp + it requires soulstones for purple weapon offerings. I have come across the transmute tab where it gives me the option to craft an element. Is it worth crafting that element, or rather does that element ensure that my weapon will go from awakened profane dagger stage 6 to the max of the awakened profane dagger ?
