Is this a bug?

Okay so yesterday me and my friend were doing a few tag matches and something strange happened.

 

My friend started the game against a destroyer, hes a summoner himself, as soon as the game started the destroyer grabbed him and started punching him, this is when i jumped in and popped my fury and started smashing the other destroyer, the thing is, my friend started screaming like WTF IM DYING BRO HELP ME, and i just sat here like what? Did i just kill my own teammate? Because ALL of the other people in the other team had all their interferes left, no one got in and helped their destroyer. 

 

To clarify, when the other destroyer had my friend grabbed, did my damage automatically go onto my friend instead of the other destroyer? If so this has to be a bug and shouldn't be intended. 

 

If this has ever happened to someone else, let me know and i'll somehow let ncsoft know.

only bug i've encountered is when the tag button wasn't working for our team at all.
