POH24 Mechs while gliding

I'm almost 100% sure it has not only happened to me, but when you glide on POH24 while there's a FAR AWAY boss doing his mechs such as planting a bomb, it pops up that you should press Spacebar to dodge the mech, it's all good so far, but if you're gliding and/or jumping in mid air, you're going to be unable to press spacebar again and you're going to die if you're mid air right on the water. It might be just me but, NCSOFT, shouldn't your *cricket* mechanics just pop up if you're close to the boss?
