How to Spar with friends across servers

Hiya I have a friend across server I would like to spar. However when he inputs my name on spar it doesn't work. However we can play tag matches together. I was wondering if there was a solution to 1vs1 a friend across server. He is 22 im 36 i was wondering if that makes a difference?
