Steam Controller

I have a steam controller and the control scheme for the Xbox controller while not bad, would be much easier with a steam controller (way more customization).  Has anyone found a fix to get it to launch properly from steam big picture?  I've tried adding the game and making sure the extra command line stuff from the shortcut is in there to ensure it starts properly but when I start it steam recognizes it being active for all of 10 seconds before it goes back to normal and I can't do anything with my steam controller or get the overlay.  Is there any other way to do it?  I would really appreciate any insight. Thanks.

I've been trying different things throughout the day (though I'm more interested in the Steam overlay for the purposes of streaming and sharing screenshots, but my problem is essentially the same as yours). The best I've been able to get is the same thing you're seeing: Steam shows me as in a non-steam game when I first hit launch, but before the game boots up Steam loses track of it. The primary suspect is Game Guard anti-cheat software. Everything looks good until that pops up and kicks Steam out, probably mistaking Steam for a problematic third-party program.

I don't know if there's a way to get past this or if NC would have to add a special exception on their end (which they may or may not ever do).

I read about this once in the forum but can't find it anymore. In short it should work this way:
Add BnS to your Steam library (the NCLauncher!! in C:\Program Files...). Go to your desktop, right klick on the BnS shortcut, open properties. Copy the
destination.
In Steam right klick on BnS, properties and paste the destination you just copied there + add " flowthru".
"C:\Program Files (x86)\NCWest\NCLauncher\NCLauncher.exe" /~~~~~~blahblahblah~~~~~~/LUpdateAddr:"updater.nclauncher.ncsoft.com" flowthru
Start the Big Picture modus, start BnS.
It shouldn't shut down after 10 sec now. Unfortunately the steam controller seem to run in the backround or is blocked by whatever. Or I couldn't find a way to make it work.

The desktop configuration should even work without BnS in the library but... meh~
