Class Question!

A couple questions related to classes actually...

 

I have a long history of playing on MMO's and in 99% of the mmo's I have played, I usually play as a tank because they tend to get faster queue times in dungeons and are higher saught after in group content as there is a lack of them. Are tanks "needed" in this game? what % of this game is pve vs pvp? and is there a queue system for content or do you have to organize groups yourself before attempting group content? (Also, other than Destroyer are there any good tank classes? It looks like kung fu master is more of an off tank)

 

Secondly, I saw somewhere that certain classes are only available if you join certain factions, but in the class info portion of this site I have not seen any indication as to which classes are exclusive to which faction, can anyone shine some light on this for me?
