Hamann Loot

I defeated Hamann for the first time today and this essence came in the loot, but it doesn't appear anywhere. It appears that Hamann Treasure, but not the essence. After all, what is this essence and what is it for?

It's literally the daily quest objective.

You don't get the essence put into your inventory. This essence is the daily objective and enables you to speak with Podan/Jakdan to finish the daily. If you kill Hamann multiple times a day there will be no essence after the first as you already finished the daily.
