How do I use a mount and see the 150% faster movement speed?

I purchased a mount where the tooltip said there would be a 50% increase in movement speed.

How do I use my mount such that I can see the increase in movement speed (vs. another user who didn't have a mount)?  Someone in game said I should press the SHIFT while running -- but that just gives you normal running vs. walking.  Anyone know how to see the faster movement speed?

Thanks!

I'm losing it, I thought I posted this, but now don't see it, and certainly don't think it would be removed...

If you have a mount you are supposed to be able to increase your normal movement speed -- mine said by 50%.  Thing is, I don't know how to activate the mount such that I can move 50% faster -- I seem to only move same speed as normal.  Anyone know how to activate your mount (if you have one), and see the faster movement speed?

Thnx!

The mount increases windwalk speed and makes stamina unlimited while doing so, you will not see a normal speed increase, it only works for sprinting.

it also disables using the mouse and awxd keys for navigation -- I had to try to use the arrow keys, with the result in it being very hard to turn.  But the speed increase in a straight line was noticeable.  Thanks, I think -- at least I see *something*.  At first I thought I'd just thrown my money away, but some have argued that I'm doing that regardless.  *sigh*

I mean....mounts are a "novelty", you do not need them to do things in game, you cannot use them in dungeons, they are essentially there to just look pretty nothing more.

Hard to really say a cloud is for looking pretty.  There are a few places where they can be useful to avoid running out of stamina, but the places in a dungeon where that happens, remain.
