Hello Crickets,

 

We hope you are as excited for the Unreal Engine 4 update as we are. Our Update Preview Livestream date has changed and is now scheduled for Tuesday, August 31 at 11 a.m. PDT (8 p.m. CEST) where Linda and Brett will give a rundown of the UE4 features and content.

 

While our update is less than 3 weeks away and we’re still doing major preparations, you must have some burning questions about UE4 so we want to give you the opportunity to ask them! Please share your UE4 Update-related questions here in this forum thread and we’ll do our best to answer them.

 

For your questions, do keep in mind:

  • Only Questions about UE4 Update will be considered

Hello, let me start with the most burning one.

 

Will our version of the UE4 client come with any sort of protection against 3rd party client modification methods?

UE3 ladders and economy have been dominated by the cheating community, is there any hope for the legitimate playerbase to compete in UE4?

Is there going to be a new client/client update or will we need to remove our current UE3 client from our PCs beforehand?

Is Gameguard or xigncode making a return?

Are there plans to finally include Korean, Japanese or Chinese voice packs officially?

Will the UE4 update bring more eyes to the Arena gamemode? currently dominated by hackers and wintraders for about 2years now. Very curious if the UE4 update will bring change to this or if it'll remain a cheater gamemode

What will be done to players that abuse things possible in the game currently without making use of cheating/XML (file editing) for example wintrading using multiple clients or even with friends. Will UE4 bring any changes to how you guys manage this or will this be left unmoderated as it has been for a long time now?

Will you use the (hopefully) influx of new players to actively do something against wintraders and cheaters?
Currently even with video proof of f.e. people speedhacking in open areas nothing is happening, everything goes to "internal investigation" with them still running around weeks/months later.
If you don't cheat you're currently having a big disadvantage, without any signs of cheaters being punished.


Many old players will return and new players will come to the game again with UE4. But they will leave again if the problems with ladders are still there.

Hello,

 

The most important questions for me would be:

 

- Are we going to finally have a GameGuard? The cheating in NA/EU Blade & Soul has become so common that in community discords people ask about cheats/XML edits more than asking how a class normally works. We need something that isn't easily bypassed.

- Will we get an event for retuner players? Since UE4 is on the way, many players would like to come back and that would be great as it's always a nice thing to have more players around.

My first question is about the controller mode (yes I am part of this community of players), will it still be possible to play it on UE4. The second question is about the current elementary Pugilist, will there be a small optimization of the simplified mode. The third and last question is about the end of the current story on act 11 chapter 6 for new players, is there a change of equipment at the end of the story in Korea.

Hello,

 

Which version of the engine (client) are we going to have, KR test server version, first live version or the last engine version but with content locked to our current state ?

 

I'm asking that because the first version of the KR engine (client) was very bad and if you guys are releasing the UE4 version on our server with an outdated KR version, then you'll make people ragequit even more because of poor performance/optimization.

 

Are we going to have a real way to edit the simple mode with UE4 ? Because KR devs aren't playing the game at all and can't do a proper one, that's why people XML mostly (not counting autocast in v6).

As everyone else has said; will this UE4 Update be able to stop all the cheats, XML, Speedhack, Flyhack and Wintrading? If not this game is doomed to repeat the same failure as UE3 - everyone cheats and no one cares for the consequences because there is none, your support team are too scared to ban anyone because it'd be the equivalent of losing 10% of your player base.

This update is your last resort to fix things, if nothing changes this is the end of Blade and Soul despite its so called "Revival"

Any plans to remove the Venture Tokens from PvP season rewards with UE4 and replace them with something not tradeable, such as Pet Packs or Sacred Vials? The venture tokens are the main reason people are wintrading, because they can be used to buy stuff like Gem Powders that are tradeable, so they sell those for gold and then the gold for real money.

what about is performance with low pc ?  in Videos ppl say  y cant play with  no end high pc ?!

 

now is question NC soft says  y dont need high end cpu / gpu  streams say other words !  Ue 4 is not the newes engine !

 

what about GM in game or Mods who dont delete post in Forum !  Need >Better Communty likke old days for new / old PPl !

With the UE4 update, will NCWest be given more opportunity to have creative control over the game compared to on UE3? Or will the creative process/update process for the game remain the same, with updates being managed by the KR development team and not allowing for unique content on the Western clients?
