Item Removal from Moontide Outfit Exploit

During the maintenance, we removed all items acquired from the Moontide outfit exploit from those who abused it. Unfortunately, some of these same players may have also had their non-exploited cosmetics affected. We are currently investigating the issue. As soon as we have more information and finalize our next course of action, we will provide another update.

Are you returning gold we spent from buying items from F5 and Faction during that week too? There are two problems with this so far:

• I bought my stuff from the in-game sources (F5 and Chat) and still had my items deleted (yes I did touch the NPC before the forum notice came up);
• The players who, possibly, exploited and sold items keep the gold and go unharmed, but buyers have their gold and pet pods deleted;

You guys robbed people of thousands of gold when they bought soulstones and transmuted pet pods from marketplace and converted them into pet pods, that you eliminated from their inventories. That's literally robbery of peoples' personal times and efforts, regardless of where those pet pods came from.

 

If you wanted to reverse it, you could have returned the soulstones and transmutation gold spent to those people who had transmuted pods in their inventories, just like you returned the mats from the Silversteel 6 reversals. 

 

It's really shameful and demoralizing how you guys are handling this situation.

Exactly I also bought in f5 and stuff and I even started doing a lot of pvp to buy my soulstones with which they give us back that and some costumes that we had our own

Here is my 5 cents. If people bought these items from the AH and did NOT exploit the npc affected, they should have been able to keep the items since its wasnt an exploit to buy from AH directly.  They still spent hard earned Gold (which is still currently nerfed in the game) to buy those items, even the tortoise outfit which was being sold through AH and people bought also got removed. How many players lost  up to1k gold buying it?.  The buyer should not be punished.   But hey  all I can really say at this point is express my disappointment.  This was poorly handled when the error wasn't the players fault, but the fault of nc's coding team.  

 

I know its not your fault either @Hime and you are trying your best to keep the situation from going out of control.  But this was not correctly handled.

My pet pods the i was saving  are gon  i spent all my gold on pet pods.   I want them back  this is not right who do you all think you are stealing from ppl acc this is a 1st for BnS.  I been saving them i pay for them and you ppl take them out off ppl  acc what give you the right I  see lots ppl are goin to quit  this  bad for this game.

So 67 pet pods are removed form my account that I haven't got by using merchant (not that i care at this point about 67 pet pods, its about principle:)). I didn't get any single pet pod by abusing merchant, I only salvaged some outfits out of curiosity, felt bad doing that and tossed threads to storage so they have what to remove in case they decide to do it. So that threads are removed (which is ok), some threads that i had form before are removed too (which is not ok), and 67 pet pods that are totally unrelated with all this are removed (why??).

 

On other side you have players that:

- maxed out their pets and talismans that are not reverted or touched in any way
- converted hundreds of pet pods to pet packs that are not touched in any ways
- mailed enormous number of pet pods to characters that did't touch merchant and got to keep em all
- made shitton of gold that is not removed, by selling pet pods, pets, outfits...

 

So players like me that actually restrained and didn't have any profit form abusing this bug are punished, while others that abused it to maximum got to keep their profit / gains form that abuse.

@Hime Is that actually message to your players that next time you want us to abuse any exploit as much as possible?

I hope you understand that you cannot just remove items like this. It is honestly a really disgusting move!!!

You will have to give back gold and other currency that were used!!!

 

Edit: Also since you did such an half-assed job things are even MUCH WORSE now. Some people I know still has thousands of items that did not get removed with the patch. How is this fair?

It still .akes me so mad because I had all pf the moontide outfits feom the damn event I even have the weapon and adornments from some of the outfits from the Original event and to find that all my stuff is gone makes me really want to leave

I don't even know what all I lost, I just want all my outfits back. Some of them were bought off f5 or from a different clothing merchant in mushin's. Some I bought from f10.
Even the ones bought from the bamboo merchant I just want to decorate my characters with. I was saving some for future characters. :(

A friend gifted me rosethorn on a few of my characters and I'd already customized it before it was taken from me.

Let's not forget that it was NC's mismanagement that created the whole mess to begin with, and now thousands of legitimately obtained soulstones have gone down the drain. Asking for blind talisman and pet aura reverts is going to create an even worse fallout if they don't review manually exactly how many pets, pods, packs and stages prior to the whole debacle each individual character had. Oh yes, and gold dumped on marketplace. Don't forget that there were people working on upgrades for months before the incident, and with current method of yeeting ALL items that COULD have been obtained illegitimately regardless of what someone actually did... is frankly pouring rocket fuel on this already spectacular bonfire.

Good job NCSoft! Your current action makes a lot of players angrier and question on your management ability. The outfit that you removed from my account is my ninja tortoise outfit. I used my real money to get that outfit. And I spent gold to buy the rosethorn outfit. Now, they are gone. Before you made that action, have you ever considered the good, the bad, and the worst. Oh! I forgot that you lack of the ability in critical thinking and management. If people complained, oh just gave them the same reason "We are currently investigating the issue. As soon as we have more information and finalize our next course of action. Bla bla" Thanks to whoever invented copy and paste. No wonder why I saw a lot of players are quitting. Good job!

 

+What were you thinking when you removed pet pods that we bought on the F5 during that bug? You better had a good explanation on this, or more and more players will get mad and quit because of your worst management.

+What were on your minds when you got rid of the outfit that some players like me bought on F5 or trade? I had bought a rosethorn outfit before you announced the bug. 

 

From the beginning, this exploitation was 100% your fault, not the players' fault. You did not even maintenance the game right after you found out the issue. Do not give me any reason to support your idea "randomly maintenance is impossible." Anything can be possible if you urgently do it. Instead, you told us not to participate this bug at BAMBOO VILLAGE. Hello! you just let the issue exaggerated because not a lot of people were aware of this until you announced. You just lured more attentions and curiosities. What is the purpose of this action? The way you were doing is exactly the same as the guy who livestreamed to show the bug to all of us. Let me gently remind you that without the players, you are nothing.

Personally i lost around 40k gold because i bought many pet pods and pets from f5 or other players. I also lost 6-8k soulstones. I could have sold those for 35-45k gold (price was around 5,5-6g/ea) instead of crafting additional pet pods. I didnt upgrade my pet or talisman meanwhile others got huge advantage from it (f11 rankings, raids, etc..).  I also used the NPC before the forum notice came up and i saw it but i got like 30 pet from it. I would not say anything if u remove 30 pods based on your forum announcement, but dont steal 600 pods from my storage. People who have maxed out pet and talisman and made huge profit are still unharmed and they also got free hm coins from f11 rankings. Basically i lost 80k gold without any benefits.

Now i dont have any doubt anymore u guys cant even figure out players who abuse XML edited files to gain huge advantages in game, since u cant even handle such a easy situation.

 

Back in the days when u had the wrong price for pet pods in F10 and people bought them like mad, first u removed them (poorly since some people who was smart enough to send them to alts, kept them) and after u gave them back when someone was complaining in a ticket.

 

Then the Mushin Floor 7 autorun abuse which gave lots of people tons of unity xp, first u banned some, probably even the wrong ones, and then u gave them their accounts back.

 

And now this desaster, people who out of curiosity touched the npc get punished with stuff removed they actually bought in F5 or costumes from RNG boxes back in the day.

 

Again people who upgraded their talisman and pet for kinda free compared what it would have cost normaly, people who sent their stuff to alts and people who reverted the pods into untradeable ones + those who made huge money with selling stuff, wont even get touched by your "skript".

 

Either u totally rollback the servers which is highly impossible or u just eat this ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ up give all stuff back and make new pet pods for the next pet, talisman and pet gems u introduce...there is no other solution that is halfway fair in any kind.

 

And fire this idiot of a gm who announced that bug on forums, cause even someone with half a brain would have known what happen, if there where no announcement im sure less then 100 ppl would have known....

hey @Himecan u please let us know if buying pets from the marketplace with gold (pets who were probably exploited) and transmuting them into pet pods is fine? are we gonna get the pet pods back? if not do we get the gold and the transmutation cost?

Is that even legal to have the company hard remove items in your inventory, moreover when those items have been legit purchased ?

 

To be honest, the best option would have to take your responsibility for YOUR fault by doing nothing.

But who am I to talk, I don't even play anymore. Who would be sane to f2p and grind h24 & 7/7 to not be revelant against p2w in this unoptimized game that delete your items with his awesome casino called "trove", "rng box", "Honsil box" and awesome patchnotes =)

NC Soft playing the russian roullette with their player base. I mean, look at f5 prices, pods still 95g, the transmutable pets still under 30g. All that means is that a bunch of them flew under the radar. And i don't even want to touch on the people who already got max pet/talisman by using this, don't even get me started on that.

 

This was as mentioned a russian roulette. There was either a bullet on the chamber when they got to you and shot you into oblivion with the hard earned items you bought fair and square off f5, or there wasn't and you got away with everything. Hard to just make the saberfang and flower carp pets not transmutable on day 1 of this abuse and the major stuff would've been solved. But no, let it available for 3 damn weeks and after that, let's rob people of 10k gold (my case) because we were too lazy to patch this. Let's scam some people of their fair-earned costumes from those boxes thingies in the process too, cuz why not.
