Roles of a warden

Recommended Posts

I have some questions about warden in a party:

1. Threat: How many points should I put and how to effectively play role as threat spec warden? yesterday in RSC, a party member ask me to spec in threat, so I put 10 points. But at the end of the dungeon, he said I am stupid. maybe because he died and blame me.

2. Black wing: I got Aransu mystic badge. is this the "BW" people ask in party recruitment? "BW" means black wing from warden aransu badge?

3. Soul flare: If some other warden or warlock who dont have aransu or dynasty badge cast SB, do I got benefits from my aransu badge? or should I say to them not to SB and let me do the SB?

1. You shouldn't have to spec many points in threat or any at all if your skills are specced for threat anyways. You should try to estimate how many points in threat you use based on how much damage your party members do. In RSC the damage gap between you and your party members shouldn't be too high so I guess about 5-10 points in threat should be fine. As for the party member you mentioned, if they died because they got agro from the boss consider investing more points in threat. Otherwise it isn't your fault it's on them that they died.

2. Correct! Blackwing/BW is a buff that comes your VT badge which is always wanted in parties.

3. You should use your soul burn (or solar flare if you wanna get technical) when you can because of the blood stacks you get from it. Ideally if you have BW but your other SB party member doesn't you should be the one using your buff over theirs. Otherwise if you both have your VT badges it doesn't matter. If you have a warlock in your party they should be specced for time distortion rather then soul burn since that's a warlock-exclusive skill that's really helpful for certain classes.

Oh some big brain wardens we have here :) hm points have no effect in RSC.

You got BW badge before you figured out how to press K and read your skills, gotta love how storyline gives people enough gear for bt/vt for free but 0 training in team combat or anything else

As Lulius mentioned the HM points doesn't work in RSC. If you are gonna tank you should always spec the threat version for skills that have it. You only want to use HM points in threat when there is someone who deals at least 3x more dmg than you in burst, when you get CCed a lot (which shouldn't happen to warden), or when there are long gaps when you can't dmg a boss but ranged classes can.

Oh i see. that is how it works. if i spec all my skills in threat without HM points, it supposed to be enough unless my damage is really low. thanks a lot!
