Few reasons why you shouldn't attempt playing BnS

So after playing bns for 2 years i can give you a solid opinion about the game, the community and the support services it can offer you.

Let's start with the basics, game is poorly optimized, everthing starts from its very client that launches the game , till the spaghetti code it uses while playing the game.

If you got for example a 1060 which is a really good card and most common to see in every rig, it wont help you at all in the game.
Game only uses most of your cpu while your gpu stays at 5-10% of usage.

Anyway lets start with overall problems:

1) your fps will be low, low fps gives you high ms input , combine that with the bad ping the game offer, you will end up having a harder time playing compared maybe to other players
in every aspect (pvp-pve)

(for your information i got around 50-70 ping in any other game while bns its above 110-200 that spikes inbetween that 24/7)

2) game by itself has mouse input delay

3) game did cut down 24 man raids for 3 reasons, one of them due of the bad optimization, you end up having lower fps but higher ping making it frustrating to play and loosing a lot of dps
which is still a problem even having now 12man raids, other reason is how dead the game is, there will be times you wont be able to find people in cross server to do dungeons with, so lets not talk about how easy it is to go into a raids, and last reason it was hard for communication, leading 23 people with all those bugs/fps drops was causing a lot of mistakes and a hard time raiding.

4) if you are not dedicated to spent a minimum of 3 hours hardcore playing and finding a clan that will help you to progress then don't expect to make any big steps in the game.
literally the developers whenever they find something that etheir could give you materials or gold they will nerf it to the bone even if you needed to afk farm for hours but it was worth the time.

5) because the game is so unfriendly towards new players to start with, dont expect the server to get any more people soon.

6) luck: game is really luck depended, from what it might drop in raids or crafting a important item that doesn't display its fail rate.
just for your information i have failed crafting something 8 times in a row , while people claim it has a 30% succes rate, but overall luck shouldnt determine your time of upgrading things in any game, sadly this is strongly in blade and soul.

7) Since it is a f2p game , expect a lot of people paying for their gear, that would be all good if this was only about pve , but pvp 6v6 is gear depended that has a whole different category of items to use to be efficient, so for the f2p player this means even more farming for extra stuff, while your only way of farming Moonstones comes from there.
So you can guess how much not fun it is. And before anybody says that moonstones can be farmed by doing daily challenge, daily challenge can be done only once per day and there is a chance of getting 1 moonstone out of the chest.

8) You remember the part i told you about if you dont have a good ping or low fps you feel like loosing so much of your dps and the way you perform, well some classes are unplayable with certain ping, so if you happen to like a class you may quit it later on, cause to understand your class 1st you will need to play and gear it to a certain level, till that you will have spent your time/efforts for something you might regret later on, so have fun repeating all of the story/rng farming process.

9) Support will help (most of the times) those who have paid some good hundreds into the game, idk how many times there was a patch that reduced the upgrade costs of some items i recently upgraded and they said no to me , while others getting those special services not like once or twice , but every single time.
There was even once a time that i meet their "none" written requirements about wether or not i am allowed to ask for an accessory revert but because i have spented like only around 50 euros in the game they denied it.

10) New players cant expirience mechanics of any dungeons anymore, expect of the latest 3 or 4 hardmode dungeons , which they wont even be able to join cause of their gear.
The rest of the dungeons , have some small mechanics , but due of the avarage geared players doing more dps than the boss can chew on you skip most of them.

11) Farming in this game is repeating running certain dungeons, so you can guess that this is also depended of how lucky your are, if anything decent drops you can expect to get a gold share of the bid , but god knows how much they will pay during that time.
Also farming in this game is reconsidered running a solo dungeon for hours that was meant to be difficult for players before 2 years ago, now you just go in and one shot the minibosses, but there is a catch.
First you have all the time those loading screens to deal with.
Second you might do it slower cause of your luck if one of the 3 last bosses drops you a ticket to skip some floors.
Third it gives a avarage of 1.5 moonstone crystals every time you run it, while most upgrades in the game have moonstone crystals of a minimum of 50 for each stage upgrade.

(notice ther is a small chance the last mini boss droping 10 bundle of moonstone crystals)

So lets say you would need a minimum of 34 runs of that so boring dungeon which takes you around 2-6 minutes repeating it (this is based if your loading screens if they are quick, if you got a HDD as a hard drive, well GG your loading screens will be a minimum of 20-30 seconds each and the dungeon has 3 of those, but wait you though ssd would fix it?
sadly no the loading screens are still kinda big with an avarage of 5-15 seconds).

12) Most of your important gear is luck depended, raids for example have to do only about luck , if it drops the week you doing it or not, yeh i said week , cause once you enter the raid with a certain group you are bounded to it till next week , cause raids can be done only once per week.

13) Game has a lot of items to upgrade so you can guess how much farming/ paying it will take.

14) You can guess switching or gearing another character is a pain expect if you are playing quite a long time and your main character has a raid for every week so it can get some of the bound to account items for that other character.
(notice 1v1 3v3 are not gear depended so you need only to level up the character till it unlocks its skills, at least thats something good)

15)Maintenace of the game is big (from 3 hours to 8 hours) and for the europe server really akward time, most of the times during evening.

16) Balance changes from pve affect also the pvp, so there were some good few times were some characters gotten godlike or garbage after a certain change.

17) Expect one day your class getting a hard nerf or rework so after all the time you have put into gearing it up, you may end up not liking it.

18) Oh so you want to pay for your gear, guess what you got 2 options, a) buying gold directly in the game with your money which is quite expensive since gold dont really has that much value right now in the game.
b) or you can gamble in those rng events, you may end up buying 100 boxes and ending up getting so unlucky, so you get my point of what geared players usually pay each time they do so
(hint it is a 3 digit number most of the times).

So here is my conclusion, if you got a job that pays well and you dont mind to spent some of the money into it, then go ahead play the game.
If you work but you kinda have priorities in your life and cant afford paying, then no, dont even bother with this mmo, expect if after work you do nothing else playing video game.
Overall this game the way it is now, it's not that great , the game at its early stages was actually quite better cause the gear difference wasnt that big but you could do stuff with less time cause farming was efficient back then and there were many things to farm to.

Now it's all about sell raids and people selling money exclusive stuff.

(Yeh i am a frustrated f2p player that went throu 30 minutes writing it, saying it so you wont have to type it yourself as a comment)

At least 75% of what you wrote here is plain i will call it "garbage" and not completely true at all. For starters:

1. FPS in BnS is more CPU dependant and not GPU, and that is not because of the game being bad, thats simply how unreal engine in which the game is built works, it puts more load to CPU than GPU, its will all UE3 based games. They are working on upgrading to UE4 which should bring better optimization and better visuals.

Also the ping displayed in-game is not your actual ping to the server. 9/10 times high ping is caused by the bad routing of your ISP to the server.

2. You might want to check the internet and google as in most cases its caused by a few settings and services running on your pc.

3. Those are not the reasons why 24 man was changed to 12 Man. The main reason was it was far more difficult to find a full party. so they decided to cut the people requirements in half.

4. Well duuuhhh.....having a good clan helps you always out, in literally every game. Thats the whole point of a MMO. If you dont want to join a clan, you can do so, but then you limit yourself to only pugs and thats not a game issue, thats a individual player issue. As for materials there are plenty ways to get them, true you need to farm a lot but its not hard, it may be repetitive and gets boring after a while, but it gives you what you need. As for gold rewards, they arent getting"nerfed" they are shifting to newer content.

5. The game actually became quite new player friendly in the past updates, especially with all the events that basically let you get soul and pet and weapon for free.

6. PTS is a bit more than 30% success rate. However that is the only thing keeping our version from having to pay for items in PTS instead of gold. KR has 100% transmute chance, but in events items there cost 20 / 30 / 50 PTS to buy.

7.  People can pay for gear in almost every game. Moonstones cna be gotten from SSP too. Not to mention for upgrading you only need crystals which are easy to farm. and from selling the tradable materials you can easily make enough gold to buy a PTS and use your farmed crystals to upgrade. Dont expect to be on the same level as someone who hardcore plays the game within 10 min of starting.

8. Every class is playable even with a ping up to 200-250. you do loose a bit of damage but not all too much. Not to mention as you level you already have the basic combos so you can easily see if the class is decently playable for you or not.

9. That is not true, given in terms of transferring items to alts etc...yes i can agree they favor players who spend a lot of money. as for reverts they revert if its upgraded within 7 days. If you are passed that they dont have to do it. they also decline if you do it too often and they decline in most cases aswel when there are upgrade reductions announced to prevent people from cheating themselves into extra materials.

10.  thats because of the new players....each dungeon is being nerfed to a brainded pulp because the new players claim tehy cant do the dungeons because they are too hard.

11.  Farming is repetitive, yes, but still easy. Especially since you can farm basin and you get decent materials from it.  also dungeons are not a good / stable source of income. You need to do crafting, farming and transmuting to have a decent gold income.

12.  Tru, its luck, but there are alternative ways to get items, prisms and the fallen versions of the accessories. So you can either do the raid or farm other dungeons for the same result.

13. Wow a game actually wanting you to farm materials for upgrades instead of letting you upgrade for free....horrible.

14. Not really that pain since a lot of items are account bound and you can use them from your main on an alt. Not ideal but it got better since launch, much better,

15. There is a fixed window for maintenance....they also always announce the time. Nothing special here. As for the EU time...its a company based in US, with staff managing the maintenance based in US so its naturally the maint will happen in that time, especially since they want to keep both EU / NA versions in sync in terms of patches and content at the same time.

16.  I have yet to see a class becoming garbage after a balance patch. Yes they nerf some abilities and strengthen others, thats how this works, but the main reason people complain about balance patches always because they now cannot execute a combo which was an instant win and have to actually put some more skill into it.

17.  thats on you. Its obvious from the start that changes come to classes some may like it some dont. If you dont you can start another character.

18. Gambling and buying boxes is on your own accord. if you want to spend money on it its your right to do so, if you dont thats also your right to do so. If you lack self control in these matters thats on you.

What you are doing is listing simply everything bad that happened to you. thats not an objective view on the game. Given in some points you are correct: thats its a grinding game, that its repetitive, that people can buy themselves into gear. But with the other things you are being very subjective.

you can easily get to end tiers with being F2P, even easier with a clan. It will take time , yes; spending money can accelerate it, yes, but that doesnt make the game garbage.

People sell raids because they can, their right to do so, if you dont want to buy a run then dont, if you do, then buy it, its your own free choice.

yep that pretty much my experience with game since i started few weeks ago , the fact that you actually have to pay to get in raid runs is  very telling about the game stat

but...you dont have to pay to get in raids....there are plenty pug raids that go, you can make an own raid group and go....you can join a clan and go on raids....you can do allthose without spending a single gold coin.

The fact people clear the raids easily to hte point they can carry people who dont wanna waste time its their way. that doesnt say anything about the state of the game.

Alright, calling me clueless of why the game is so badly optimized il give you some solid points why i didnt even mention that it is on unreal engine 3 .

First of , unreal engine 4 is out for almost 5 years, they had plenty of time to reconsider switching to that engine but bns is not a game that listen to its community thats why it wont thrive, instead they preferred to keep it as it is.
Second of, i mentioned the optimization and the client cause the client in Korea works much better than ours, thats why you see people use a none official client like BnS buddy that caused a few times peoples accounts beeing stolen while in korea the client boosts your perfomance.
Also when people go and watch optimization guides about how to tweak settings of our cpu/gpu components to get some more fps and over going throu that trouble about one game you know there is room for improvment of the spaghetti code they using.

About farming peaches in celestial basin maybe for a lower geared person its okay that can only do that, but i do not reconsider it efficient at all , has to many rng factors.

Missions you get are rng of how many peaches they give.
What sort of missions its gonna be rng aswell.
Are you premium or not getting the bonus peaches, also depending what your clan rank is , this will determined it aswell.
Rng on treasure pouches cause the best drop rate i give for those is 1/3 having a moonstone or elysian crystal inside while the rest is soulstones and sacred crystals.

Why the ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ am i suppose to use ping boosters for only a game like bns to get close to what my real ping is because their network coding is garbage?

They announce the maintenance time ,that doesnt change the fact that US always has their servers 1st up then it goes FR and DE server, and last and least Jinsoyoun server while a lot of times they will say the approx time , adding every time an extra hour and the moment you log in, you got issues as like a lot of dc, not beeing able to see market or profile services, cross server not working properly or the recent problem people friendlist gotten deleted.

So about me telling the game that is currently in a bad state and not trying it out , is the reasons i give to people not trying it and they are totally accurate.
There are reasons to play but the cons are more than the pros until they switch the engine its not worth wasting your time in.

I don't mind what you said. Not gonna defend the game even though I'm having a much better experience than you apparently. At least I'm not angry at the game or the devs, and my game runs fine on my 2 computers. And it ran decently on an old 2011 laptop I still have around but don't use anymore. People may go through exactly the same as you did but find no problem with it and accept it as part of the game. No game is perfect and in the case of MMOs, bugs and errors will show up by the lot. And as for the behavior of the company? I won't defend them, but I see it as typical in this genre.

For me, this game is better than before for new players. Now you will end the story with a legendary weapon, a nice set of accessories and a kick a$$ soul shield. Sure, we can say this game is not alt friendly if you want all your alts on maxed gear. But you can get a character to max gear through the long grind, and build alts to help farming lower areas or just multiply the benefits of some events. Gunners and wardens are really easy to pick up (even easier than sum in my opinion), and they can help you with that low tier farming.

Anyway. Your opinion has been noted and people will read it for awhile, as long a it remains around the first forum pages. Though I have no idea how many would quit or not even start the game after reading it. That's up to them..

@Grimoir

1. That's not good enough. And UE3 doesn't work like that, all engines in general work like that, unless you know how to offload processing. Obviously something team bloodlust is not good at;

2. No, no it isn't;

3. Hahaha, riiiiight. Totally not because all BnS outlets were screaming in unison that 10 fps and below with pretty powerful machines, is not going to be tolerated;

4. Key part of the sentence being "farm a lot". Now if we up it to the tenth power, we might get to what the issue is;

5. 3+ hours/day is not player friendly experience. That's literally all the free time a run of the mill adult has;

6. And when the majority of the community fails is, the fail rate goes way over 80%. I guess that's "okay" cause a select few got super lucky (such as myself, I have over 60% success rate on PTS);

7. Sucking it up and normalizing it, is how games become p2w and die. Just saying;

8. Yeah, I won't even comment on this one. It's that stupid a claim to make;

9. Excellent description of specific cases. Not what OP was talking about, because he didn't specify if his situation falls into the special cases cathegory;

10. Literally noone ever said that;

11. So let's get this straight - braindead and taking forever is good. Hard, fun and relatively fast is bad. Got it;

12. Have you like, seen the prices on these things? Yes you can farm them. Problem is the situation is kinda like this - someone wants to eat bread. Option one is to make the bread with about 12% chance to get a normal bread. Option two is to go to 250 shops and get a ticket from each, then use the tickets to get the bread. Good thing we can't starve in BnS, else we'd all be dead with this system;

13. Maybe instead of stockholming over how normal these obnoxiously expensive upgrades are you should accept the fact that most players don't like this mexican standoff situation where their only options are to either live in the game, or live at work so they can buy what they need in order to ENJOY current top content. Noone likes sloppy seconds after nerfs;

14. Better isn't good enough;

15. Nobody cares where they are. Morning hours are when people are at work/school/uni. Afternoon is when they're home. WIth maintenance taking up to 6 hours every other week, we have a situation when people come home and in the only free time they have, they can't play, cause NA can't be bothered to work in OPTIMAL time frames for the region they're publishing in. Mind you I have really nonchalant and acceptive demeanor about this and I get annoyed at times;

16. You'll have to pay a closer attention then. This isn't korea. Their nerfs increase in magnitude when we add networking that's traffic shaped to push multimedia to consumers. Classes become more garbage than they were originally mean to be with each nerf. Boosts are also not as robust for the exact same reason;

17. So you'll just gloss over how gearing up a new toon kinda doesn't cost 0 and costs another one year of grind, if not more? Yeah, let's roll that up and put it behind the sofa, like it doesn't matter. Makes perfect sense;

18. So in a sense, if someone doesn't like the gambling boxes but wants the vanity shinies, they're out of luck. That's a great way to monetize. Just flawless. *Shakes a glass of scotch* ;

Noone can give an objective description of anything, cause everybody has their own point of view. True objectivity is hypocrite's way of claiming the high ground. So why are you pointing out that his tirade is not objective? Moreover why would you even assume it would be?

How can a person like him be living under a rock and not realize is just beyond me.....................................................................

All the original topic starter saying is the state of the game, you on other hand trying to justify the game or how it should be played does not make it playable.

FUN fact for you my friend (yes yes i know im not ur friend) they are deliberately making the game GRINDY or RNG to HELL to force you to pay ur way out, if you can't still realize this, YOUR JUST BEYOND SAVING........................

now if you choose not to, good luck with ur real life.......................

my only problem with this game is  the genericness,and dont tell me the combat is so amazing cause there were other mmos with much better combat.(those games were  shutdown in most cases cause incompetent publishers,devs, but thats what we call wasted potential hey!)

the only thing you have is a crosshair that lets you look around, while the boss attacks are still 2d on the floor,and you have autoaim.

after all these years this game barely improved on any aspect.

the only thing you see in every update is a different colored gem,or better, a combined gem! woahsuchwow.

cashgrabscreechingintensifies.

still a wasted potential.

but since there is nothing better rn, lets just stick with this,and have hopes for the new games that might come in a year or so.(or maybe mmos will just die out,like the moba genre atm.it's been bleeding for quite some time now after all the shutdown mmos.

since every mmo was made to be timeconsuming, aka, grindy, if you dont have atleast 3-4  hours to play, dont even consider playing an mmo,(mmos are basicly a 2nd life) cause thats just wasted effort for what you gain, better if you just watch irl channel on twitchtv if you want to socialise online.

there are casual "mmos" out there, where u dont do anything just play golf, or dance for an hour, then back to irl daily stuff,thats why its casual.

and tbh, once you reach a certain point in this game its not even interesting anymore, you just log in, do your daily challange,on weekends you do your raids, and wait for frenzy to start and do some bgs.

at that point its kind of casual.but it takes roughly 3-4 months to get to that point from scratch as a f2p and not playing more than 3-4 hours a day.(playing 3-4 hour a day is kind of casual tbh)

as for last words, i d say this game is still worth playing,considering the other f2p options out there, but dont take it too seriously, cause that will lead to threads like this made by burned out ppl.

Based on how most Korean mmo games work i can say that they mostly ignore westerners when it comes to feedback and often even excludes them out of certain content or changes saying its for Koreans only.

As for the game itself, it was kinda designed and meant for players with alot of time in their hands and have pay to progress for those who don't have the time or is just not willing to grind. Also mmo games are supposed to be grindy where you farm same dungeons 500 times over and over again until you get what you need, but there should always be the option to get all in game items, well in game through decent amount of farming. That's kinda supposed to be the fun part, not the part when you have max gear and level and there's nothing to do anymore.

As for the optimizations, they most likely optimized the game enough for Korean infrastructure and pc specs and left it there. Therefore performance issues for us. Again further suggests they don't really like us or something of the sort.

You can see it in almost every Korean game that the west gets the bad version of the game.

So... we have another "enlightened soul" who is sharing their "vast wisdom" about how we shouldn't play a game... on that game's forums. Mmhmm... never heard that one before.

How about three reasons why you should play this game...

1) It's a game

2) You're interested in it

3) You want to play it

There. Done. Now how about we stop telling people what to do with their free time and let them make up their own decisions? Additionally, if you hate the game so much, why are you still here? And, if the response is going to be "I quit [insert time method here]." then why are you still posting on these forums?

but...you dont have to pay to get in raids....there are plenty pug raids that go, you can make an own raid group and go....you can join a clan and go on raids....you can do allthose without spending a single gold coin.

The fact people clear the raids easily to hte point they can carry people who dont wanna waste time its their way. that doesnt say anything about the state of the game.

as long as  people can check your gear nobody would join a raid made by under geared same goes to clan i saw many recruit only  1k2 and the one that doesn't  have  players who cant hold them self in a raid run but yeah   the only thing I've seen  in the red faction chat is people selling runs or paying for them  it just
 show how greedy and none existent is the player base is that the well geared players can exploit them to make gold out of it  inb4 "grind F8"   99% of the time a whale join in and keep out bid us by 1 copper that if something even decent drop and most of new f2p barely have any gold so 50 ~ 100 split between 5 person.

Ehh, I agree with a lot of what you said except for the fact that it’s not “new-player” friendly. I remember when I first started playing a few years ago, I had to work HARD to get high AP. That was back in the day where the first weapon you got was the one you kept and you would just keep upgrading that one. I JUST got my main to 950 AP, then created an alt because I got bored and after getting to the end of the story, she’s already at 920 AP. I mean, I worked my ass off running and re-running dungeons to upgrade her and new players can easily reach 900 AP just by completing the storyline. Sad life lol.

I will say this though, the game is boring to play if you don’t have a clan/community that you play with constantly. That just goes back to it being repetitive though, but overall... If you join a clan, the game can be really fun and the issues like running raids, dungeons, etc. go away because your clan SHOULD want to help you run those things. They’ve also completely nerfed dungeons now too. I feel like mechs don’t really matter anymore as long as your team has a lot of AP. I’m sure that doesn’t apply to the newer dungeons but I’d definitely have to disagree that this game isn’t “new-player” friendly. I agree on everything else though.

Well I see Grimoir still trying to protect this game like they got a stake in it. Ah, somethings remain the same I suppose.

Welp, I also see folks still come in like someone sending personal shots. Whether you have heard it before is irrelevant. If one is trying to speak to people who play or might play the game. The official forums would be a pretty decent place for it. It's as if the forum for the game, is used for talking about the game......whoa! shocker I know, I know.

As for your three reasons.

1. Yes it is a game. So is Russian Roulette.

2. And interest can change like the wind.

3. Which can change like the wind.

Also, oh my.....are you? Are you trying to tell people what to do with their free time? Was it not the OP's decision to write this in their free time? Are you trying to stop it now? I thought you were against it ?? As for the very last bit. Someone can hate and love/enjoy something. Just because one is personally invested, doesn't mean they can't see the issues that may turn off others and point them out. But I guess you have to be "enlightened" to know that much.

The whole thing i write down for now is mostly explaining why shouldn't someone bothering with the game as it is right now, some would say "are you stupid, discouraging players will just make the game even more dead and eventually shut down, is that what you want as an active player?" , honestly for now how the game works , heck ye , that's what literally ncsoft deserves, not taking ever into account what the playerbase wants, you need to wait a few months till a suggestion from the players is done.

A game that wont listen to its player base and depends itself only from the big heads that pay every month some few hundreds and thousands of dollars even they will eventually stop playing especially if there will be less and less players to interact with, and then what will ncsoft do?

Probably ending up shut down another game? Like with Wildstars/ Masters x Masters?

Masters X Masters had so much potential but guess what , lets make the transactions so high and farming so difficult that everybody leaves, and now you see battlerite , almost the same concept kinda thriving especially with its Battle royale mode.

It's not a lie when people say as a joke "never trust Ncsoft" , cause its the freaking truth in every aspect.

Overall till the new engine comes out the game wont get any better, they nerfed all the dungeons , farming has gotten way to annoying cause they had additional items that requires a lot materials.

One of the main reasons i liked the game were for its dungeon mehanics, it was so satisfying once you were getting the hang of them , and due of the gear not boosting the crap out of your dps even the older dungeons back then still needed to do mechs.

Now its just run in dungeons dps the crap out of it, worse case scenario res charm cause most people wont even bother with mechs , repeat, expect for the latest dungeon.

The awakend patch encourage that behavior even more of "not watching guides we give you more dps so enjoy the mindless clearing" .

Like its not that i hate the game, the game and its rules/physics/mechanics are great, the developers making it worse and worse by etheir adding unecessary stuff.

Can give you a prime example what a good company compared to a bad one does, look at tencent, literally whatever game it takes , it makes bucket loads of money.

Even blade and soul that tencent has published in china does make more profit, don't believe here are the charts, and guess what half of the games tencent is involved:
https://mmos.com/news/top-free-play-pc-games-revenue-2017-superdataresearch

You will see the same thing happening with ring of elysium that tencent worked on it will go great while this genre has already a lot of competitors and new crossfire will also do great.

I can’t think of anything that I don’t agree with in this post, sad to say. I was looking forward to moonlight blade coming out made by tencent but after finding out that Nexon will be publishing it, I’ve lost all hope.

i just really fail to understand the monetization decisions ncsoft makes... and i am a very well educated adult, with multiple degrees who grew up in a house with an economics professor with an MBA and JD in business law for a parent.

it just doesn't make any sense, at all. it is apparently designed to squeeze as much money out of the few who can afford it before it drives those who can't to another game... which is not what you want to do if you're trying to ensure longevity and continued revenue.

look at it this way... one year of a sub to wow (the most successful mmo in the history of the genre, undisputed) costs about 180 dollars. if you bought 180 dollars in ncoin, do you think it would give you the same value a year's sub gets you in wow?

I don't disagree about how hard it was back then doing that breakthrou from true scorpio to baleful and a lot of classes had really bad weopon effect from true scorpio so they got kinda forced to do it, but even then upgrading into it , wasnt the game changer, obviously you would had some more dps , but mechanics were still there to be done for, people with lower gear but great mechanic execution and well done rotations were preferred.

My whole point is , i personally don't feel rewarded anymore from it especially when there will be a dungeon every 3-4 months comming out you get quickly bored.

Also let me tell you i was a person against mmo games and would never recommend to someone playing one, till i saw bns , bns has a really good combat system/ dungeon execution and ofc the art design appealed me, a good art design is the one that the moment you see it , for example a land scape you recognize it from which game it is.

And about the new player friendly topic, it just happened recently that they decided to do all these events but if you include the fact a new class came out obviously you would expect that sort of event.

Not to mention , yes they nerfed every dungeon so new players can get in and carried but for what content do they prepare themselves for .

To do VT? TSM? TT? is that what they will try to aim for, not that much to do right? so basically they ruined their whole content you could play around with so they make it easier for new players but at the same time older players and the new players don't have anything to look for, and worse thing about it , one of the raids needs massive gear.

TT boss 3-4 needs preparation which the content you play doesnt really provide it to ya expect VT (weekly locked dungeon) and the events that provide oils, also depending of the event or how many characters you do it with you know when you will be ready for it.

After a certain point your accessories wont upgrade till you manage to get the raid exclusive ones, so your only bet upgrading is your weopon/ gems/ soul/ heart.

Also if you are in the unlucky position of having ping/fps that drops your dps you know you will perform worse or feeling like an ancor for your friends.

While I agree the current progression is friendlier to new players than before, 950 AP places this character in the same spot as a 250 AP character back when we had hongmoon gear. He will not be picked for anything unless he magically can solo himself into 1200 AP. That is what OP is saying. Again, some people don't have problem with this. Some people do.

As for clans, people should be mindful about which clan they wish to join. Clans that advertise themselves as helpful to newbies, should be truthful on stating their goals to new, ungeared players. I'm sure there are helpful clans out there, but I also assume there are clans with self serving leaders who milk the rest for their own personal gain.
