Why do they remove the Gildstone from F10 if the event its still going on?

Ok i get why they removed the trove key cause the trove ended but why did they also removed the Gilstone if the event goes until the 25th?

My guess is they didn't want to give out too many Gildstones for free.

I'm only surprised this question didn't come up earlier, since it was plain written in F10 that they'd be removed today.
