"An extra 9% chance of turning it into a fleeting astral soul" Is a Lie and a Fraud!!

With Each Fail you get your bar for your chance of upgrading increases so now I have an  extra 9% chance of turning it into a fleeting astral soul"

@ 42:45   she  says the above ^.  This is a lie and a fraud.

Why is this a deception done on the players?  for one reason:

MYRO4Kx3v0_ajKlIAHK2E5hzsxu2F5vMbuZgZ9xe

The devs made the players believe that the system was going to work in a certain way. But this was a lie.  It does NOT increase your chances an extra 9%. The only thing this does as some have pointed out is fill up a bar similar to the TROVE events for  the 100% critical.   But guess what? You need 15 more oils AFTER 100%.

There is another name for this, FRAUD, and lies done by the ones who streamed the video from above.  How many players will be stuck at 100%  needing the extra 15 oils for the next "sure upgrade"?  This was a carrot on a stick.     And the devs basically played the players.

You promised us one thing, and gave us another.

Now I give you my feedback. Im done with your game and the lies.  The game is already on it's last knees since it has destroyed chances for new players to even catch up due to the gold nerf.    Unless you are rich,  you wont get any progress.  That seems to be the message the devs and ceo are getting across.

But know this,  without happy new players, the game seizes to be.  Both the community and the devs are to blame for that outcome.

sometimes it said it could give you an extra 1%, what you experienced was not 1% intetger, a natural number. But it disguised as an integer.  you showed us the proof that the extra 1 % addition was actually... 0.99999%

so the new calculation will be 100% - 0.999999 % = 99.000001%

99.000001 % / 9% = 11.0000001 trials = 12 trials

this is one nasty event.

I need 2 more week extension now and not 1 week according to your proof.

and it is not safe to say that "you will get 1% extra" somewhere against the popular beliefs.

after MrCoolStory's proof

I think I will wait my last 6 hours after the maint as to see If there are any changes for this event.

I don't need 1 more week to decide anymore.

I already ran Naryu Sanc 2000 times and only 180 time done successfully for my 6 toons so far.

I wiil free myself from this event and NS. I will convert oils to pet packs.

I also assumed after the stream that we had increased chance of success after each failure like they said.

Does anyone suspect that the event soul is just bugged ?

Like usual you know...

Actually I don't think it's a lie, it's an error. The problem was/is that the team, that's promoting events and updates showed many times some lack in information about certain things. You can see that in updates that have come with changes, they neigther announced in the stream nor in the patch notes. For example they changed the assassin's limitless soul badge (which was bugged before) on the 9th may patch, without loosing a word about it. While this issue can be caused by different things like bad communication between devs and publisher, bad translations or just lazyness, it is still an issue that should be to be adressed and taken serious.

Also I would like to remind you that she said "an extra 9% chance", but she actually never said what the 9% are refering to (9% total chance or +9% of the original upgrade chance). As I tracked the event on different characters, I would say it is additional 9% of the original upgrade chance, so it stays low. When you reach 100% for the next upgrade the growth rate changes to fixed, which should be a guaranteed success (or at least Jonathan says at some point there will be something like that). If you have a closer look on the item discription it doesn't even say that it's a guaranteed success. Actually it says "The material costs of Growth by Fixed Rate decreases while mileage increases", which is a bad translation according to a guaranteed success (and the mileage can't increase above 100%) or they gave us the wrong information about it. Personally i just can speculate at this point, because I don't got to 100% on any soul yet.

5 hours ago, MrCoolStory said:

But guess what? You need 15 more oils AFTER 100%.

Well you can read this in the item description in the stream, so why do you even rage about it?

"If the points reach maximum Growth by Variable Rate changes to Growth by Fixed Rate"

This sentence exactly tells you, that with reaching 100% (max. points) the variable rate will become a fixed rate. Of course you need to do another upgrade at this point, because the mileage referts to the next upgrade and not the one you just did to reach a certain amount of percentage.

I agree with Nemises.

Also you guys need to know that this percentage bar is not an increase of the chance for the next try. It is a seperate bar with the progression shown on how much it is left (if you always fail) until you get the guranteed upgrade path.
Everytime you try until then has always the same chance of getting the leg. Soul. The description of the process at some point is misleading though, which doesn't really makes me wonder, as lots of translation in this game was and is still messed up.

Let's say you have to go all the way through 100% of simply being unlucky (that's actually common btw. You might have some friends who got it before but thats really the minority. I guess the chance lies at around 5% so it is possible but it's not common)

First you need the stage 6 soul which costs 45 event oils.

Then you need 12 trys total, as you get 9% instead of 10% sometimes.

Which means, that you need 11x 15 event souls to first reach 100% and then again 1x 15 event souls to make it a success after completely filling the bar. A total of 225 event ouls therefore is required.

Eventually you may get it for less if you're lucky enough, but I recommend to not expect that to happen.

I do agree that it was not nice of causing this misunderstanding, but I still consider this event as a pretty much rewarding one, because you get the awekened soul bascially for free, which cost me and lots other veterans around 20.000g back in the past when it was the new soul.

So complaining about it and quitting the game is very overrecating in my opinion. Be glad it is still free to obtain.

You get the awakened soul for free is you have enough gold in the post-patch economy to drop another 20 every time you upgrade on every alt, and can run NS in under 5 minutes and have enough AP to do IF and EL. If you fail to get all the way there,  it's "sorry sucker, you bought the lottery ticket."

That, to me, is not a rewarding event; it is an exercise in frustration. I agree that the progression bar is misunderstood but it should not be there in the first place - it's just smoke and mirrors to distract you from noticing that your x% chance of success does not carry forward with each upgrade attempt. By that I mean failing to win the lottery 99 times does not increase your odds of winning on the 100th try.

NCSoft appears to want to invite you into the BNS casino where the odds are stacked against you, but hey, there's a chance you will win! There's also a chance that you'll be hit in the head by a meteor falling to earth. You have to ask "what are the chances?" There's a chance I'll strike it rich, and a chance that I'll die alone and broke, and a chance that I'll get an awakened soul without killing myself and my toons in the process. When NCSoft tells you there's "a chance" it's not a lie, but there's a bigger chance that you won't achieve your goal. Maybe they ought to end the deception by telling us flat out there's a x% chance at success on each attempt until you reach the max.

There's a chance that I used the word "chance" too many times in this post.

Tell me, what do you prefer then. The awekened soul for around 6000g with current price, or for 225 event souls?

I already bought the soul for my main over the course of several months. As far as my alts go, it would have been nice to get souls for them from the event but I honestly gave up after umpteen wipes in NS and the lack of hours in the day to keep plodding forward. Getting 225 event souls on an alt may as well be 6000g - both are out of reach.

Anyway, I refuse to play the bns lottery and have used to oils the purchase sacred vials. What's left over I'll spend on pet pods until they're gone.

Players who really need that soul (90%) can't do IF/EL whitout issues, issues, issues or lot of rage/frustration, so since may 9 until june 19 (event ends june 20) doing daily challenge + NS + weekly challenge we can get 228 pristine oils (wow) but we can't lose a single day (U not Allowed to get SICK or anything else) or everything vanish, all efforts go back to simple dirty dust. So for me this event don't have NOTHING rewarding (but this it's only my OPNION!!!, btw it's only thing i can do).

PS: I already have 4 Awakened Asc Souls + 1 True Asc Soul which i make farming olds and GOODS events we get in the last 18 mounths. (This its 1st event i don't like, pure, simply like that). Hope next events back to way how use to be.

(86% plis) why I keep going into the gameeeeeeeeeeeee?

Lying or not, they gave FALSE infromation.
Based on that information I started working on 6 characters, who had no Awakened Soul. I said "nice, sound like an easy soul", because some people gave some math results, that you have a really high chance to get the soul just by doing Daily challenge and Weekly Challenge, and some days ago I discovered the truth, it was not working as they said on the Stream
So I am stuck with 5 characters (got lucky on 1 character only), and I'm really sick of this event, doing same instances over and over, with trash groups.
I have 67%, 67%, 58%, 48%, 40%, and I had to give up on characters with less than 50%, because I cant get a guaranteed soul even doing everything, and I dont want to risk my time, anyway is too much time doing everthing with all of them.

Now I can't miss a single day! with those 3, because I risk to loose all my effort.
It's the 1st time I'm so mad with this game owners, they should just have said how it worked from the beggining, and I wouldnt have jumped on this sick purple train with so many characters. ARGGG!

@SkyStorm@Nomade13

I will try to explain this to you, however to properly understand the situation, I've to point out to this issue with a wider view explaining why this is happening.

This game is affected by Micro-Transactions causing a huge impact to the in-game economy not just by the effects of players making use of the Micro-Transactions, but as well as from the Publisher (NCSOFT) implementing these offers to the game at the cost of game quality and player-friendly content.

So what does that basically mean?

In order to make players use these Micro-transactions, the base game-setting must be adjusted to actually motivate players spending real money on those offers. For example by reducing the item drop rates from dungeons, or making it more difficult to obtain items such as moonstones or legendary drops from new dungeons. That's also the only reason why Moonstones were removed from Mushin Tower F15, because it was not due players can one-hit Yukson, it's because players would be able to get moonstones in a far too easy way making it unreasonable to buy RNG-Boxes, Treasure-Trove keys or Daily-Special Offers from the Micro-Transaction store for that, since moonstones remain a main resource to upgrade newest gear. That's just an example of many.

Of course NCSOFT is fully aware of this situation, as it is their plan in consideration and executing this method. And of course they will not reveal their method as I pointed it out to the public, they will instead explain it in alternate ways such as players should run the newer dungeons.

At this point you could say, that players don't get the chance to enjoy newer dungeons, because old content got nerfed and that's why players being stuck at lower gear levels for longer periods of time. This is were the situations becomes more complicated and there are several measurements which were done over the past and adjusted up until now.

One of these were reducing the costs to upgrade older gear, in order to make a balance to the dungeon rewards being cut. Another way was by giving players events such as the one with the RNG-Soul right now.

Now this event, as I explained on my earlier post, isn't too bad. It is actually a nice one as it will reward you with a more or less basically free Awakened Hongmoon Soul. It requires to run certain dungeons and finish the daily challenge, which too will give you certain rewards such as materials to upgrade your gear.

But then you ask, why is the event soul still RNG-Based then? That's a good question and here is my answer:

Even though the event is a good way of obtaining the soul, it still was made with the focus of motivating players making use of Micro-Transactions. At some extend by the frustration players may experience caused with the misunderstanding (I cannot tell for sure if it was planned to mislead them by not properly explaining that the percent bar is different and not an added chance to next tries, or perhaps an actual real error happened there) however, more likely on the other had with the impression of them getting a soul nearer to the higher tier souls and motivating them at that point to make use of Micro-Transactions just to further increase the soul item.

They also made it so that you cannot seal the Awakened Hongmoon Soul anymore. That way they made sure that this cannot be abused to sell the soul, instead they have to invest additional oils to get the True version first, which then can be sealed if intended. While you've to spend almost all event souls to get the Awekened Soul, you won't be able to get enough event souls to exchange for Sacred Vials in order to upgrade to True Hongmoon Soul - to motivate you buy Sacred Oils from Micro-Transactions.

The fact that you may get the Awekened Soul earlier if lucky, is just a motivation to not give up on farming, and that's why it is RNG-Based.

It's actually not a rocket science to figure that out, if you're aware of current entertainment development politics, as Blade & Soul isn't the only game where this is happening.

However, I am not trying to say that this is all a fraud or scam at this point, even though it may sound like it. This is simply put the business-model NCSOFT choose to run their game with and as a customer/player there is nothing you can do about it, other then to play the game in a way were you find ways to overcome all that. I too don't like it and it's a matter of time and upcoming content until I personally quit the game for good myself.

And that's why I still do think that it's worthy to farm the event souls getting the awakened soul done and able to still use it for your own benefit regardless of NCSOFT's intentions. And if you've trouble clearing dungeons, then make friends to play together with, join active clans, just don't play Blade & Soul alone. It is much harder otherwise.

Considering the way how you type and write trying to say what you intended to say, I guess it's because you're addicted to the game.

It's nor hard to close the game and uninstall from your system. Read what I wrote above, and eventually you'll understand.

Im frankly surprised they're not selling those oils for the fleeting soul; even more surprised i am is that they give us 15 for free (however little it is...)...

All in all i got to agree though, this event is nothing but frustating. And also way to miss what "gear the newbies" should actually mean for a event. Definitively not IF EL.

There are many, including myself, who've pointed out that this event was designed to motivate players to buy sacred vials. Unfortunately, the stick NCSoft held out was too long for the carrot to continue motivating players, so they made the carrot a little bit bigger (or shorten the stick, however you want to look at it) with 15 free oils.

Well surprise NCSoft. I wasn't going to buy any sacred vials before this event, and I'm sure as hell not going to buy any after this event mismanagement. The only result you got from me was cancellation of my premium membership.

I don't expect things to be free, but I don't like being treated like a trained monkey either. NCSoft acts as though this community is filled with idiots too dumb to see what's going on.

My reply to Liinxy's post about the free 15 oils:

@Liinxy I do appreciate your offer of 15 oils to help those that are stuck at 100% mileage at the end of event. But we all played half of this event (investing effort, time, and the gold we hardly have ) with the wrong idea about how it worked, and only discovered that fact too late (and probably your team is in the same predicament, the "small letter" was not clear for you either). I believe you should offer players the choice of reverting their current event souls, with whatever mileage they have at the moment, for the corresponding oils and gold spent. I think that would be fair in this case, and it would earn you a needed measure of respect from the (by now very disheartened) playerbase.

This is nice example of ungratefulness of bns community. I got 3 permanent souls out of 4 my 1k+ alts so far by doing dc+wc+ns only + i skipped something here and there. Nobody forced you to gamble, you could get your 4 or more guarranted oils per alt and upgrade one soul by the safe way. Yes. everything with % chance to success is a gamble, yet some of you fools doesn't seems to understand it. Risk to win jackpot or play it safe to win second/third place. It is easy as that.
