PVP SS suggestion

To port an idea from Aion over, to make PVP SS clearly superior to PVE SS in PVP, add PVP stats to them that would fully negate any usage of PVE SS and heavily punish the PVE player for attempting to PVP with one.


For example in Aion, the most basic PVP gear set nets about 20% PVP attack and defense, this is a net reduction so that a PVE geared player attacking a PVP geared player would suffer 20% less damage and take 20% increased damage. A top tier set can go up to 40%, to put this into BNS context, say a Galaxy fragment SS gives 20% overall reduction and damage on PVE SS, a Beluga gives 25% and the Novacore gives 30%. In essence, for people deciding to rock full BT or VT shields for the PVE bonuses, these will be negated simply with the PVP defense increases granted by the SS.

 

So PVP SS would have:

 

  • enough PVP attack to heavily punish opponents using PVE SS (enough attack to cancel out opposing PVP defense stat on top of that)
  • enough PVP defense to again punish opponents using PVE SS (enough defense to cancel out opposing PVP attack stat on top of that)


This would go a long way into making PVP SS superior in PVP to PVE SS. It makes no sense to farm nearly 200k BP for an SS set only to be 1-3 shot by someone with a VT one they simply bought off of marketplace because PVE ones are for the most part, better.

 

Alternately, add negative PVP attack and defense to PVE SS pieces. Say -50 attack -500+ defense per piece; using 3 pieces would lead to taking about 15% more damage, using a full set would lead to taking almost 30% more damage. This would probably be easier as otherwise certain PVP sets would become insane even within PVP sets. The PVE capabilities would be entirely unaffected, simply the PVP performance would come at a heavy cost.

that's a nice suggestion but people really do not understand that ncsoft wants to keep 6v6 as it is now. People with ego who pays a lot to gear mostly like one shot people and people will keep entering 6v6 without thinking twice about gear since it's the only way to farm moonstone.So simple math , ncsoft wants keep whales , whales wants one shoot people , low gear players wants that 150-200 point at least to farm moonstone slowly. This is the system and it's always will be like that

It is normal that the ss of VT and the next ones are stronger than those of pvp is a mistake of the game, the ss of VT work as a real damage that is why it affects so much the pvp, they serve a lot in the class dps, this is I would have solved if they only applied to the stat of ss a damage against boss, that is to say, instead of giving 40% damage to a skill, you would have to give 40% damage against boss with those abilities, that would solve all the problems. Sorry for my english :p:

Whales can simply get PVP SS then. This won't stop them from 1 shotting, this idea is just so that if you use PVE gear in PVP, you are punished for it, not rewarded.

 

There's no point to PVP gear otherwise.

 

PVE SS give absurd bonuses to skills, PVP SS do not; PVP SS give defense, survivability and limited boosts to certain skills deemed "useful" (read useless) for PVP (it's laughable actually). PVE SS also have no downsides, they are flat out better than PVP SS because of the percentage based boosts.

 

For example as a BM, HM Z + 4 is an easy way to 1 shot anyone moderately geared if you use the 3 piece BT SS for the 100% boost to 4. No PVP SS gives such a boost. Most PVP SS boosts for 3 pieces are... let's see, a minor increase to an already low damage skill, 20% CDR off Z, etc. An example of cheese comes to mind when it comes to PVE SS; assassin with MSP 8 piece and 250% mine damage, allowing them to 1 shot even 200k HP players. Without that 250% boost, guess what; that 1 shot would become no more than 30% of HP.

 

Another example is FM with 3/5 BT/VT which leads to absolutely sickening 10m 6 digit AOE damage.

 

Another possible way is for PVE SS to only apply their bonuses in PVE (read bosses) and not anywhere else. That PVE and PVP attack exists implies it's possible.
