2000 key trove results and thoughts

Did 2000 trove keys and normally post on Reddit. This time around, my thread got removed so I moved it over to here. Anyways, here are the results of 2000 keys that I opened today on stream.

My Goals prior to trove:

  • Obtain plenty of Legendary Jewels to max the newest set of accessories (which i farm on 2 characters)
  • Obtain both Gilded Triangle gems and have enough gem powders/fragments to make 1 triangle Amber (having only an octa amber) and 1 triangle Diamond (having 3 octa diamonds)
  • Obtain a LOT of moonstones, moonstone crystals, sacred orbs, and evolved stones.
  • Obtain enough EXP charms to go from barely HM 18 to HM 20 by transmuting the EXP charms into the 5 million exp charms (hence the need for sacred orbs and evolved stones)
  • Obtain oils, prem stones, various upgrade mats where appropriate (highest value for the trove key opening)
  • Obtain a few beluga shields to try to make my PvP set better
  • Obtain enough Aransu resets to get a few extra raids going over the next few weeks.
  • Obtain enough Hive Queen Hearts to finish my weapon to stage 6 (22 hive queen hearts needed)

Goals met:

  • Completely met goals: Legendary jewels, EXP Charms, oil/prems tone/mats, beluga shields
  • Partially met goals: MS/Evo stones/sacred orbs, both gilded triangles & powders/fragments
  • Completely missed goals: Aransu resets, hive queen hearts

My thoughts:

  • If you wanted moonstones, moonstone crystals, evolved stones, jewels, hive queen wings, exp charms... this is your trove. I went really hard on exp charms --- you would have seen so many more mats if I didn't.
  • Severely lacking sacred orbs (not crystals, plenty of crystals if you want them). Even though I took EXP charms at almost every point, i do not have the means to get the sacred orbs needed to transmute all the 1 million exp charms into 5 millions. I hope they make sacred orbs farmable and/or change the mats needed for the EXP charm transmute to be bound instead of unbound.
  • Plenty of oils and prem stones if you want them -- i mostly took EXP charms or evo stones instead over them.
  • Gems were common enough that you should get a few heptas and maybe an octa or triangle in several hundred keys. Also expect to see some black gems (i saw mostly hexas, but some pentas as well). I passed on all black gems because i went hard on black gems in the previous trove. I also passed on every hepta gem because I was only looking at certain octas and gem powders this trove.
  • Gem powders. These are great! I was worried i would come out still lacking gem powders to get the triangle amber (only had 1 octa amber) and triangle diamond (already had 3 octa diamonds). I was pleasantly surprised to know that i have enough for that and will be sporting several triangles, despite only getting 1 triangle as a drop.
  • Costumes. I saw every costume and pet offered at least several times. I only bought a few, as the crits with freshman and nobility have quite good stuff in them otherwise. I was not impressed by the costumes this trove --- didn't really like them other than the black gunner outfit.
  • Hive Queen Hearts & VT/SK Resets.... These are a scam. Aransu resets only come in crits, and they compete against stuff like an oil, prem stone, 40 evo stones, etc. Near identical results with hive queen hearts. These are not worth buying unfortunately and are too sparse to count on. For the 15 VT resets you need, that's 450G spent and over 4500G in lost profits just for 1 more run of the raid.
     

Overall trove rating: 8/10

Thanks for the results and breakdown of your trove experience. 2000 keys is plenty of room to see everything the trove has to give. I'd like to see a comparative breakdown of 20 people using only 100 keys each with all slots open, and should have done one myself, but my rationale is to see what the average person can get after launching  $us50 at ncsoft.

 

I can't say my results are what anyone should expect, I'm very well known for having abysmal luck, but i would like to see what others get from this casino.

Noone forces you to pay anything during Events. And people who like to pay for their Hobby, have the nice opportunity. And i think Trove is one of the most fun Events around here. We even meet each other in Teamspeak/Discord and Trove together, telling each other what we got. 

If you dont want to do it, then dont do it. :D easy solution

Some players, even if they wanted to do it, they couldn't afford it, so seeing other players exposing/sharing their "wealth" in the forums or in social media can be frustrating, even if their initial purpose is to help other people figure out the rng.

One of the things I find negative about that kind of event is that it creates/favors jealousy and envy in an already pretty toxic community. That wasn't needed.

For people who never want to pay for more slots, and open only once a day, I would like to know if the best items they can have in the two slots are the legendary jewels/elements ? Have you seen anything of value in the two slots or it is reserved for the other slots ?

i did, on my very 1st click on trove.i got a legendary element.for 5 gold.

I have never seen anything good in trove as a f2p player. It is a p2w event as the op suggest. 

 

My thoughts :

Having too much money or no life then trove is for you. I rather spend my money on something useful

oh, lol.sorry, i didn't understand your question properly. but, to answer that question. not really i guess.but i did get a premium transformation stone from last trove, that was probably the best thing i ever got from troves, with me never buying keys or open the slots because i never trust my luck with RNG stuff, and i still don't.

Just not worth buying in almost all cases. Too many are needed, they are on rare crits, and take the spot of a prem stone / sacred oil...

Only 3 premium transformation stones and 33 transformation stones in 2k keys.. everyone needs pts low geared players like me with seraph 12 need them and high level geared players but i used 100 keys and saw 0, so the rate is not even 1% its less than 1 like wtf....its christmass give happiness not sadness.

 

Also saw 0 oils the 6 oils in 2k is again way too low..

 

From trove you are supposed to get things that you cannot get by farming easily like oil,  pts, transformation stones ,pods etc

 

Moonstones, soulstones and exp charms are easily farmable.

You didn't read my thoughts on the matter, as that's important to why the results look the way they do.

I could have had 60+ oils/prem stones if I wanted them, but i chose to pick EXP Charms in almost every case that oils/prems dropped.. cause it was either 1 prem stone, 1 oil, or 3million exp. I chose the 3 million exp.

I posted the results & the notes so that people wouldn't get confused on why there is such a lack of oils and prem stones in that list. You can watch the vod and it will show how often I saw those items.

Edit: Btw, exp is not easy to farm. I was lacking hundreds of millions of EXP to get to HM 20 from HM 18. When I end up transmuting this all into 5Million exp charms (including the other charms i did have saved), i'll have 1.6Billion EXP, definitely enough to put me into hm 21 or even 22.
