Some QoL changes regard of Summoner

1) Move "Farewell" to Z and make it only available after using Huzzah! Move 2. The fact the Summoner needs to completely die in order to use the skill have many trouble sides, since if the Summoner dies, cat tends to be put in a dangerous situation where it will follow the fate of its master shortly after before it can use Farewell.

 

Does this make Soul Fighter's rez skill less relevant when Summoner can rez people when still alive? Maybe not, cuz Soul Fighter's rez has much shorter animation, as well as pull people to the SF's location, away from dead zone like Raven King's pizza. Summoner's rez does not pull people, and the rezzed ones are risked to die instantly shortly after having their rez animation done.

 

2) Make Kapow! available on grabbed/gripped target to replace Lunge stun, so that you won't waste your Stun if accidentally hit Tab on such target. There is no point CC a grab/gripped target after all. At the current, you need to trait Power Pounce into Kapow!

 

3) Make cat resist damage when use Crouching Tiger instead of reducing 90% damage. Reasons:

-Since cat only reduces damage while curling, some boss attack that inflicts status like Acrimor, and his triplet brothers in Temple of Eluvium, can be still stacked on the curling cat, thus killing it very fast. DoT attack like Punishment seems just to ignore the damage reduction too.

-In 6v6, it is possible for some high-burst classes to even kill a curling cat. And a cat that does not curl vanishes in matter of seconds.

-In 1v1, 3v3, smart people don't attack curling cat, so it is not really a matter where a curling cat immune to damage or only receives 10% of damage.

 

4) For some bosses, it is always better if the cat is not near the boss. So, after call back the cat with Beck On, the cat will no try to auto-attack the boss again, until you say so. During this state, Lunge stun changes to normal Lunge, so that you can issue the command when you feel want to without wasting the stun. Useful in both keeping cat alive in PvE, and stop it from hitting into counter/block, or get lured away in PvP.

 

5) Boost cat's defensive stats. Maybe only during 6v6. With all current burst, people can easily kill cats, curl or non-curl, effectively render most of Summoner's tools useless. Ideally, cat's HP and defensive should be scaled following its master's HP.

As a summoner player:

 

1. No, its fine as it is. People can use resurrect charms if they die. Having summoner being able to rez people without dying would be stupid, especially in raids, so i dont see a point of changing it as it is.

 

2. Kapow is a seperate spec and should stay that way. Else it would be literally too op to have it right after pin. Plus it would completely ruin the combo to extend the duration of the cat pin on the target in pve and pvp

 

3. DoT damage due to effects is different that damage received. The 90% reduction only works if its direct damage and not damage due to status effects / DoT's. That being said its your own responsibility to make sure your cat doesnt get these debuffs. Manage your familiar better and you wont have a problem with it dying.

 

4. You can always recall the cat and make it crouch next to you that way it wont attack the boss. If you change it to normal lunge without the satun you will screw everything up the monet you need to cc the boss as your stun will not apply.

 

The only thing i would agree too is to change the 90% damage reduction to 100% but still leave the DoT damage received as is. This would at least solve the issue in 6v6 where the cat can be bursted down and will force the classes to use their CC's on the cat in order to do so, while in PVE in dungeons the cat barely taks raw damage anyway and the only things that kills it is the DOT and wipe mechs.

1. You can't use the revival charm in Raid map like VT or SK. So having and able to use the cat for an emergency revival is nice to have (like to save your chance to clear the raid when boss at, let's say, 1% left) I also agree that the cat animation for reviving party is very long. When an SF wants to revive people, he can move himself to a safe spot to do so, while if the summoner down, and ask the cat to sacrifice itself, well, the cat is vulnerable to get killed while doing that long animation since it can't evade nor block while doing it.

 

2. If you spec'ed for Kappow there is no longer Pin skill on Tab. It's an either or. Kappow, again, only available to be used when the enemy is grabbed/pin (by other cats)/phantom grip. What's the OP is asking is allow Kappow to also available when the enemy is cc'ed, if it is spec'ed, rather than have to wait for the enemy being restrained.

 

3. No comments since I don't pvp :P

 

4. I do agree with OP and you. With OP in term of it gets very annoying when cat always auto run in after being called back. Agree with you in term of we should Q the cat right after it landed so it doesn't run in; however, it would be nice if cat can come back in after E and won't run right back out until we tell it to would be nice... like the thrall.
