Any new story in the last year?

Hey good folks. I was wondering how far one can no progress in the story as a solo player without doing Dailies and Dungeons. I left about a year ago, and they had a really really crappy chapter about babies the main character was rescuing.

 

was there anything new and more fun since story-wise (with the Imperial family and Junghado) and do they have any gear I can pick up during the story to run through it?

PRety much you need to do story you want it or not there was a lot of new story  in last year. By doing story you get all gear from quest that prety much carrys you through. At the end it gives you pretty much all mats for first legendery weapon upgrade.

Not too much as far as story has been added. My five year old is pretty into it and keeps asking when new story is coming out. He was able to complete it up to this point so the gear they give out is enough.
