Game won't start after Login

Just downloaded and reinstalled 2x and game won't start up after login screen.  I can't even tell if it starts up.  I have backed up client.exe and manually closed client to restart client.  Nothing changes.  Any suggestions?

Are you using 64bit or 32bit? Some people experience that with 64 so try converting to 32 if that's the issue. You could also try running the game as admin.

Same problem for the past week. Log in>update>verify>launch>xingcode splash cycle> then nothing, and the regular splash does not come up. Since then i have been able to launch in compatibility mode and in 32 bit normally but the game is unplayable due to lag/slowness which was never a problem before. Repair and re-install does nothing. Verification checks out, so not sure what to do at this point aside from digging every B&S file and registry entry out and doing a clean install, which I may attempt later.
