Ranking bugged?

I went from 2 wins in bronze from afk opponents to constantly losing to silver players who are 100x above my playing level. How am I supposed to learn to PvP when I can't practice against players at my level?

Reason for this is that the seasons reset and now even the diamond/platinum players are found in silver ranks when they are trying to climb back to their appropriate ranks. Youtube videos of your class' pvp might help you give idea what to do against other classes.

Well, most videos are like 6 months or older, so I don't know how relevant they still are? As a melee class, I have 0% chance against anything that has ranged attacks. They just perma-root and stun and kill you from a distance. Versus Warlock and Summoner is even worse, since you're basically against 2 opponents at once. I'm lucky if I get a hit or two in before they distance themselves again and proceed to kill me.

What class do you play?

As a destro / bd, you can use your spin to escaped from rooting skills. Most other classes have alot of Iframes to free themselves (or Counter skills like Sin does)

As a Blade Dancer, I only get 2 gap closers, both of which are on long cooldowns, and only 1 that actually keeps the enemy in place for a bit if it lands. So, I only get a chance to get a hit in every 15 seconds or so, the rest of the time, the enemy can just run at a distance away from me and continue to do damage. Yes, we have a spin, but that also consumes focus, which is what we need to attack with. Yes, we have a knockdown, but they can just F or Tab out of it and keep running away. I don't get why melee has to work so hard just to be able to get a chance to hit a ranged opponent, while ranged can do whatever and not lose any of their effectiveness.

To be honest, its not that hard to 1-0 a WL when on a BD, perhaps try looking up videos specific to the classes you are having difficulty with. BD can be the bane of any ranged class once you learn what to do

At your rank, probably using deflect spin will already be enough to get you the advantage. Blind ranged spam into your deflect will make for an easy kill. Also practice Lightning Draw on a falling target and you can probably even get them with Soul Stab - Blade Storm.

 

Really, don't worry, BDs are immensely powerful, you just need to learn what it's capable of! :)
